Currently people who have set all their formats to use metric find themselves with typesetting programs such as LibreOffice producing "letter" formatted documents instead of A4 that's standard around the world. Changing the format requires writing a value to /etc/papersize, but the discoverability of this option is quite low. The discoverability of this setting in SystemSettings will be much higher and thus it should be exposed here. The minimum two options should be "letter" and "A4". Setting the region to anything except USA and Canada should set this value to A4 as well. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open SystemSettings 2. Go to Regional Settings 3. It shows the wrong time(should be 12:27) and wrong applications SUMMARY A few minutes after launching War Thunder's launcher, the bottom panel freezes. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install War Thunder - I have it installed directly, and not through Steam, which might be relevant (https://warthunder.com/download/launcherLinux/) 2. Launch WarThunder's launcher (launcher in the installation directory) 3. Leave it running and use a different application - do not start the game 4. Notice the clock has stopped moving OBSERVED RESULT 1. The list of applications on the bottom of the screen(I think that's what the Task Manager is) will stop matching the list of actually open application visible on the Alt+Tab window switch preview. For example, Steam has actually been closed and KInfoCenter opened, and the TaskManager doesn't reflect that. 2. The clock will stop moving. 3. Applets will be shown despite actually being hidden - on the screenshot, I have an update notification after having applied the update EXPECTED RESULT There should be no Task Manager freezes caused by running an application. [neon] [Bug 390825] cgcicon.knsrc: Invalid cgcicon backend
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=390825 --- Comment #2 from Syfer Polski <syfe...@gmail.com> --- I'm sorry to report that this didn't really work - it removed the error, but did nothing to shorten the time taken to search for updates. When Discover failed to inform me of any updates for two days after I removed the "/etc/xdg/cgcicon.knsrc" file, I assumed there was something wrong. When I manually launched Discover, it didn't finish searching for updates within 60s. I decided to close discover and manually ran "sudo apt update". This finished in seconds and Discover displayed that there were packages to upgrade. Updating via Discover worked at it's usual atrocious pace afterwards, until all packages were updated. This brought me to the "Fetching updates" screen, where Discover would remain till this day, had I not closed it. Therefore I'm forced to conclude that removing "/etc/xdg/cgcicon.knsrc" makes things worse and should not become the norm. PS. In case it helps: I have 32 package repositories enabled, a few snaps and no flatpaks on my KDE Neon userlts edition installation. I presume the xdg relates to Flatpak, as it used to be called xdg-app. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
