https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=471979 kt...@chem.uoa.gr changed: What|Removed |Added CC||kt...@chem.uoa.gr Resolution|UPSTREAM|--- Status|RESOLVED|REOPENED Ever confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #7 from kt...@chem.uoa.gr --- I too have this problem with a NV96 card and plasma-systemmonitor. This problem was always there from the time I installed plasma-systemmonitor v.5.x in June to this day with v.6.0.4. I believe it is related to this: https://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/nouveau/2014-May/017082.html "Problem appear in shaders containing loops with conditional break when loop is not unrolled by nouveau. ... I think that artifacts appear in areas where is big difference in number of iterations executed for pixel before breaking from loop." If this is true, this behavior is really old. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=471979 --- Comment #6 from computer.enthusias...@gmail.com --- Hello, (In reply to Arjen Hiemstra from comment #3) > Charts rendered by System Monitor use accelerated rendering through a > shader. This shader is somewhat more complex than the usual "transform > vertex; output color" that is used for a lot of things in QtQuick. I am not > aware of issues with this particular shader, as it works fine (with some > caveats) on other drivers. However, using Nouveau it seems this shader > triggers a bug that leads to GPU stalls. I would recommend opening an issue > on the Nouveau issue tracker, as we can't really do anything here. Can you point to a simple example program written in KDE or QT that would be able to replicate the issue with the particular type of shader you reported? It could be useful for debugging purposes. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

You are “lucky”. SysRq is not working for me => hard reboot mandatory -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=471979 Arjen Hiemstra changed: What|Removed |Added Resolution|--- |UPSTREAM Status|REPORTED|RESOLVED --- Comment #3 from Arjen Hiemstra --- Charts rendered by System Monitor use accelerated rendering through a shader. This shader is somewhat more complex than the usual "transform vertex; output color" that is used for a lot of things in QtQuick. I am not aware of issues with this particular shader, as it works fine (with some caveats) on other drivers. However, using Nouveau it seems this shader triggers a bug that leads to GPU stalls. I would recommend opening an issue on the Nouveau issue tracker, as we can't really do anything here. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
