Amarok does not play sound, this is done by Phonon. You very likely have a
mixup of phonon Qt4 and Qt5 based stuff, please address this to your
distribution.
FWIW: Amarok git master plays sound quite fine here, so this is specific to
your installation

I have the same problem in Plasma 5.8.1. I attach the kscreen.log file. Is this
enough or do you still need the xev output? What other information can I
provide?

In another bug this same problem was already discussed, and if I'm not wrong a
developer said that kscreen would check the X configuration after the resume
event (without waiting passively to be notified by X). Is that correct? Or if X
doesn't notify there is no solution to this problem?

I agree that it would be nice, but unfortunately Qt's integration with the
native OSX file dialog is very buggy. When using the native dialog, it's
impossible to actually manage the list of file types that the dialog can show.
I'm afraid that this'll have to wait until it gets fixed in Qt.

[KBibTeX] [Bug 371558] New: Dynamic crossref resolution and mapping

2016-10-24 Thread Juergen Spitzmueller via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371558

Bug ID: 371558
Summary: Dynamic crossref resolution and mapping
   Product: KBibTeX
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR

  Reporter: juer...@spitzmueller.org

Created attachment 101735
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=101735&action=edit
Implement dynamic crossref resolution and mapping

(Transfered from https://gna.org/bugs/?20407, since GNA does not seem to get
attention anymore)

Currently, the crossref resolution is hardcoded to the "crossref" field.
However, biblatex also has the field "xdata" which is used in a similar way
(note that biblatex's xref field must not be resolved, since it does not
inherit fields from the target.). Furthermore, biblatex does not do a
1:1-mapping, but maps fields more cleverly (author > bookauthor etc.).

The attached patch (against branch/0.6) implements this function.

* It dynamically resolves xdata entries (also multiple and nested ones)

* It implements proper crossref field mapping (via the kbstyle file; the syntax
should be self-explaining, but is also documented in the source).

I think this patch is a significant improvement for biblatex users.

The patch is the last version I posted over at GNA. I have tested it now in
real work for several weeks.

2016-10-24 Thread Sergio via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360058

So the bug has got to 5.8.1. Sad to hear that, being on in ubuntuland that
shall probably get to 5.8.1 in another 6 months. Looks like no one with kde
uses laptops that dock to external monitors to realize that this is an issue
;-)

On the bright side, I believe that /there should be a solution/ to this problem
since plasma 4 was dealing with it just fine.

For the time being, as a dirty hack I suggest just adding a script to systemd
to assure that it kills the kscreen_backend_laucher on suspend/resume.

Can the bug be marked as confirmed?

I am confirming the bug, experiencing it too.

No need to hit [Esc], the password can be typed blindly. But yeah, from plain
black screen one can not tell it it is waiting for the password or just hung.

[plasmashell] [Bug 371560] New: Add a way to disable Kickoff launch with Meta key

2016-10-24 Thread Abderrahman Najjar via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371560

Bug ID: 371560
Summary: Add a way to disable Kickoff launch with Meta key
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.8.2
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Application Launcher (Kickoff)
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: abderrahman.naj...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org

I get that the meta key is used in Windows, and so new users expect it to work
that way in Plasma too. I'm an old time user, and I haven't used Windows in
years. I don't like that meta now kicks off Kickoff

I bind meta+[key] to a number of tasks and applications, and if I change my
mind about that (I start pressing meta, but then decide "nah") the launcher
appears. And it doesn't hide when meta is pressed again (bug 367685)

If KDE is adamant on having the meta key kickoff behavior as default, add an
option to disable that. If not, then disable that behavior by default, and add
an option to enable it for those who'd like it.

Reproducible: Always

[valgrind] [Bug 369459] valgrind on arm64 violates the ARMv8 spec (ldxr/stxr)

2016-10-24 Thread Peter Maydell via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=369459

I think the assertion about "real world code not caring" is based on some
popular CPUs not having an ll/sc combination (like x86!), and so portable
atomicity primitives can't assume you don't get ABA because they have to work
with a lowest-common-denominator cmpxchg CPU.

I think your suggestion in comment 11 about trying to autodetect this kind of
core sounds extremely fragile. The architecture says "don't do this", and
implementations can take advantage, including perhaps being able to make
forward progress in some cases even if not in others, so you might find your
autodetect test code passed but later generated code didn't. Plus on big.LITTLE
you might later be running on a CPU with a different microarchitecture from the
one you ran your autodetection on...

[krita] [Bug 371561] New: Appimage aborts when started on Wayland

2016-10-24 Thread Martin Gräßlin via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371561

Bug ID: 371561
Summary: Appimage aborts when started on Wayland
   Product: krita
   Version: 3.0.1.1
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: mgraess...@kde.org

When trying to start Krita (appimage) on Plasma Wayland the application aborts
and doesn't start:

krita.lib.pigment: "AVX2 "--- yes
This application failed to start because it could not find or load the Qt
platform plugin "wayland"
in "".

Available platform plugins are: minimal, offscreen, xcb.

Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.
Aborted (core dumped)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start a Plasma/Wayland session
2. Download Krita appimage
3. Try to run the appimage

Actual Results:
Abort

Expected Results:
Starts

It looks to me like the appimage has Qt bundled but does not include QtWayland.
That's fine, at the moment Krita wouldn't run on Wayland anyway due to missing
tablet support in Qt. Given that I suggest to add the following to Krita prior
to instancing the QApplication:

#if HAVE_X11
qputenv("QT_QPA_PLATFORM", "xcb");
#endif

This will ensure that the appimage doesn't crash on Wayland.

Please note that the next Fedora Workstation release will default to Wayland. I
highly recommend to fix this issue prior to Fedora release.

2016-10-24 Thread kafei via KDE Bugzilla

It does not happen every time. After a couple of tries, I did get the crash to
occur with the same characteristics as before (black right monitor) by starting
plasmashell manually. However, when I managed to catch the same situation
running plasmashell under valgrind it did not crash... It's possible the race
doesn't occur when running under valgrind.

In my case, consumes CPU the plasmashell process ("plasmashell --shut-up").
Without blocking the screen I did not try - check today.
No other anomalies no disk activity\network activity there. Plasmasnell process
consumes about 25% of cpu (I suspect one CPU core).
If a short time to lock screen, then no problem. The problems begin after a
long inactivity (such as after a night).

[plasmashell] [Bug 371563] New: Moving a panel between monitors

2016-10-24 Thread DecentM via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371563

Bug ID: 371563
Summary: Moving a panel between monitors
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.8.2
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: barnaba...@gmail.com
CC: bhus...@gmail.com, plasma-b...@kde.org

Application: plasmashell (5.8.2)

Qt Version: 5.7.0
Frameworks Version: 5.27.0
Operating System: Linux 4.8.4-1-MANJARO x86_64
Distribution: "Manjaro Linux"

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
I moved the only panel from my external monitor onto my laptops builtin one.

- Unusual behavior I noticed:
This has been happening for a while, but without a crash. I have a 1366x768
builtin screen and a 1920x1080 external monitor. Whenever I log in for the
first time after either a cold boot or a power cycle, I would have to move the
panel from the external screen to the main one. Sometimes, one of the screens
would have no wallpaper, just a black background and slightly flickering UI
elements. I could consistently fix this by turning the external screen off then
on in the settings.
This crash occurred when I moved the panel to the main screen for the first
time after updating Plasma to 5.8.2 from 5.7.x when I installed the latest
updates on my Manjaro OS.

- Custom settings of the application:
Laptop screen: 1366x768
External monitor: 1920x1080 (ASUS VS229 via HDMI)
System: Manjaro 16.08.2
Primary display: HDMI1 (it would always reset to this after a restart, even if
I selected "Laptop screen", perhaps the panel is moved the the primary display
for some reason)

are you sure the commit is correct. I just checked it in context and the other
usages of HAVE_X11 is a #if defined HAVE_X11. I might have got that wrong,
because in frameworks/Plasma we define HAVE_X11 to 0 or 1.

[frameworks-frameworkintegration] [Bug 371564] New: [Qt Linux Deployment] Qt binaries doesn't use KDE style / file dialogs

2016-10-24 Thread via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371564

Bug ID: 371564
Summary: [Qt Linux Deployment] Qt binaries doesn't use KDE
style / file dialogs
   Product: frameworks-frameworkintegration
   Version: 5.26.0
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdelibs-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: magis...@gmail.com

I use openSUSE Leap 42.1 as my main system with KDE Plasma 5.5.5. It has Qt
5.5.1 installed system-wide. Btw I use Qt 5.6.2 from Qt online installer for my
apps.

Problem: all apps built with 5.6 use fusion style and qt file dialogs. So I
can't get native KDE look'n'feel. But on GTK based DE's all works fine.
I use startup script from Qt docs:
https://doc.qt.io/qt-5/linux-deployment.html.

As a workaround I use this in main.cpp:
QStringList list = QCoreApplication::libraryPaths();
list.append("/usr/lib64/qt5/plugins");
list.append("/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins/");
QCoreApplication::setLibraryPaths(list);

This hack works well on my machine, but on Kubuntu 16.10 with system-wide Qt
5.6.1 my program crashes (backtrace in attachment).

Question: is there a convenient way to load system-wide style plugins? Can it
be as simple as load native GTK style?

P.S. QTBUG for reference: https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-56683

Reproducible: Always

I've tried this, same issue.

Once the headset is trusted, paired and connected, when I turn off the headset
and then turn it on, the connection takes place but the volume is lower.

Using bluetoothctl, I then disconnect and reconnect and the volume is louder as
at the previous level it should be at.

[kdevelop] [Bug 371565] New: KDevelop can't find header files if the project path contains spaces

2016-10-24 Thread Bernhard Scheirle via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371565

Bug ID: 371565
Summary: KDevelop can't find header files if the project path
contains spaces
   Product: kdevelop
   Version: 5.0.2
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdevelop-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: bernhard+...@scheirle.de

In some cases KDevelop can't find header files if the project path contains
spaces.
Building such project works fine.

As far as I can tell this only happens:
- for header files of the current source file (in header.cpp it can't find
header.hpp)
- the include string contains a path (not only the file name) (#include
"folder/header.hpp")

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the attached project in kdevelop (there must be a space in the path to
the project)
2. Open the "folder/header.cpp" file

Actual Results:
KDevelop reports a "file not found" error (in "folder/header.cpp" Line 1)

Expected Results:
KDevelop does not report an "file not found" error

As you can see some paths are not escaped properly!

Git commit 3409db0b671a61440cb7e89dd024adf961b21cee by Ralf Habacker.
Committed on 24/10/2016 at 11:23.
Pushed by habacker into branch 'master'.

Fix 'Font sizing is wrong when sharing diagrams'.

For any new file the current screen resolution is written into the xmi
file. If a file contains resolution the file coordinates are recalculated
into current screen resolution on load and recalculated to file resolution
on save.

Files without coordinates resolution are not recalculated on load or save,
because it is currently not known how to estimate the resolution the file
is created with. Adjusting those files requires currently adding the
"resolution" attribute to the tag manually.

To solve that issue an option would be to add a user request to get the
correct resolution or to print out a user warning on the status line after
loading and to add an option to be able to change the resolution in
document settings or if possible to estimate it from any diagram
coordinates.

But as I said, I'm not sure if it is going to be visible in the .kra file. Are
there any problems reproducing it?

Screenshot of syncing folder hang

I observe similar bug on Arch linux, with: akonadictl --version
Akonadi 5.3.2

Although I can work with the mail (at least those synced so far), the syncing
hangs on 97% (see the attached screenshot, other accounts work in parallel).
The only solution to get the mailbox synced again is to call 'akonadictl
restart'.

There are about 6000 messages in the sent-mail folder.

This looks not to be an os access right, not an umbrello problem. I recently
checked this with the win32 version of umbrello 2.20.2. The code generation
wizard ask me if the directory C:\Users\\uml-generated-code should be
created and then export the related files into that dir.

Fantastic!

Do we need to create this profiles or can we reuse the already existing one's?
I imagine some need to be updated? Could I help somehow in this?

[kmail2] [Bug 346135] Kmail support for DarkThemes and HTML-Mails

2016-10-24 Thread PLX via KDE Bugzilla

PLX changed:

 CC||k...@pmc.com.pt

I also use kmail with a dark theme in Plasma. Frequently, I receive html
messages that don't set the background colour appropriately and assume a light
colour background (e.g. white, very light grey). Switching to text mode
sometimes helps but frequently doesn't.

A short cut key to switch between dark and light backgrounds would be a great
usability improvement. Also, the setting should be saved in the message to
avoid having to switch the background colour every time.

Git commit f50c5949365e333e9762b635722251a8406b3f81 by Boudewijn Rempt.
Committed on 24/10/2016 at 11:48.
Pushed by rempt into branch 'master'.

When Krita is built by distributions for installation into /usr,
the breeze themes we borrowed shouldn't be installed, because all
color themes share the same installation directory.

But when we build for Windows, OSX or AppImages, we do want to have
these styles available because they're very nice.

[Akonadi] [Bug 371570] New: Duplicate entry in CollectionTable when creating database in a new installation

2016-10-24 Thread Antonio Larrosa via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371570

Bug ID: 371570
Summary: Duplicate entry in CollectionTable when creating
database in a new installation
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 5.3.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: server
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: larr...@kde.org

On a clean openSUSE Leap 42.2 RC1 system (with kmail 5.3.0 and akonadi-server
16.08.2), I run kmail for the first time. It shows a "Starting Akonadi server"
message for some seconds, then a dialog appears to "Provide personal data"
(full name, email and password), and practically at the same time I get an
error box from kmail that says:
"The Email program encountered a fatal error and will terminate now.
The error was:
Could not create collection inbox, resourceId: 3"

I ran kmail with full logs as dvratil suggested and got the attached output.
That gave lots of information, and the directed to the real problem:

log_akonadiserver: DATABASE ERROR:

QMYSQL3: Unable to execute statement"
log_akonadicore: Failed SpecialCollectionsRequestJob::slotResult "Could not
create collection inbox, resourceId: 3"
log_mailcommon: "The Email program encountered a fatal error and will terminate
now.\nThe error was:\nCould not create collection inbox, resourceId: 3"

I can reproduce the problem every time, by removing the config files for the
user and starting kmail again. Btw, note that if instead of starting kmail, I
run akonadictl start and then kmail once akonadi is started, then there's no
problem.

Reproducible: Always

[krita] [Bug 371568] New: Krita opens main window and then maximizes it, instead of showing maximized in one go

2016-10-24 Thread Martin Gräßlin via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371568

Bug ID: 371568
Summary: Krita opens main window and then maximizes it, instead
of showing maximized in one go
   Product: krita
   Version: 3.0.1.1
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: mgraess...@kde.org

When starting Krita on KWin one can observe that the maximize animation is run.
This means that Krita opens a window and afterwards changes it to maximized. I
confirmed this by adding debug statements into KWin. This is part of the reason
why bug #371284 happens - it hits a condition which normally cannot happen.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start Krita on KWin/X11

Actual Results:
Maximize animation is run

Expected Results:
Maximize animation is not run, the window opens as maximized directly.

Qt provides API to show a window maximized. E.g. QWindow::showMaximized or
QWidget::showMaximized
