[kde-freebsd] misc/kdeutils4 should conflict with sysutils/filelight-kde4

2011-07-12 Thread Jan Henrik Sylvester
Since filelight-1.9 is included in misc/kdeutils4 (since KDE 4.6),
sysutils/filelight-kde4 seems kind of redundant, but at least these two
ports should have conflicts, as they install files to the same locations.

Cheers,
Jan Henrik

[kde-freebsd] KDE4 plasma-netbook shell

2011-07-12 Thread Matthias Apitz

Hello,

In another thread I expressed concerns about KDE4 and useability on
netbooks; they have been based what I saw with KDE 4.0 and 4.1; now I
want at least to give it a try again on my 9-CURRENT and installed
ports/x11/kde4; in some post in the mentioned thread someone said
something positive about plasma-netbook shell -- is this a special port
in FreeBSD or how I enable this? I've looked around with Google and saw a
lot of stuff but not how to start it;

KDE4 itself starts (with the ugly green screen, and the 1st thing I have
changed back was the mouse pointer style to KDE3... well this is perhaps a
matter of taste, of course :-) )

Thanks in advance

Looks like part of it is in System Settings | Plasma Workspace |
Workspace Type - Change from Desktop to Netbook. However, I did that
and my desktop went poof so not sure that that is the complete story.
I've needed to upgrade the NVIDIA drivers to keep KDE stable quite a
bit.

[kde-freebsd] Re: KDE4 plasma-netbook shell

2011-07-12 Thread N V
Hello,

You can activate it in SystemSettings - Workspace behavior ( or smth like
this) - (smth) Plasma. And there you can change from Desktop to Netbook and
vice versa. Can't provide exact icon name, because I have localized version.

Also, netbook plasma (as for me) differs a lot from the desktop. Imho,
especially in window management. And you can achieve nearly the same look and
functionality combining widgets and various desktop styles (standard, grid,
etc.) without losing original desktop behavior. So, it's all up to you. KDE is
great in customizing the look and functionality of your desktop.

Regards,
Vans.

[kde-freebsd] [SVN Commit] area51/KDE/misc/kdeutils4

2011-07-12 Thread Raphael Kubo da Costa
SVN commit 7340 by rakuco:

Add patches from upstream to fix some bugs in the release.

 * Inputting numbers via the keyboard now works in kcalc.
 * Ark does not crash when adding or creating 7z/zip/rar files.

Bump PORTREVISION.

Can someone commit those to the ports tree?
