Title:
  Crash on resume from sleep - 22.04, Thinkpad T14 (AMD) Gen 2

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  I'm seeing this 2-3 times per week. My system is configured with
  "Linux Suspend" in the BIOS (not the Windows/Modern setting).
  Furthermore, when plugged in, my system does not sleep.

  When I come up to my laptop after inactivity, the screens are dark
  (but as noted above, it is not suspended). If I click on a key and
  wait for both external monitors to light up, I can generally hit enter
  at that point, type my password and get in.

  If, however, I'm in a hurry or not thinking about it and just walk up
  to the machine, hit enter, type my password and hit enter a second
  time, I can generally reproduce the problem. The screen either goes
  to a backlit entirely black view, or (more commonly) a light grey (not
  the same color of grey as the Ubuntu login screen, much more white in
  the crashed state).

  The system is completely unresponsive and cannot be pinged or ssh'ed
  into from the outside. The only cure is to long-press the power
  button until it powers down, wait a moment and press it again to
  restart.

  Upon suggestions from the #Ubuntu mattermost channel, I ran:

  # journalctl -xe -b -1

  That generated the following data:

Bug description:
  BugLink: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1983656

  [Impact]

  Virtual Machines with SR-IOV VFs from an Intel E810-XXV [8086:159b]
  get no traffic flow and produce error messages in both the host and
  guest during network configuration.

  Environment: Ubuntu OpenStack Focal-Ussuri with OVN
  Host Kernel: v5.15.0-41-generic 20.04 Focal-HWE
  Guest Kernels: v5.4.x Focal, v5.15.0-41-generic Jammy

  Host Error Messages:
  ice :98:00.1: VF 7 failed opcode 6, retval: -5

  Guest Error Messages:
  iavf :00:05.0: PF returned error -5 (IAVF_ERR_PARAM) to our request 6

  In the context of these errors "6" refers to the value of
  VIRTCHNL_OP_CONFIG_VSI_QUEUES

  It was found in these cases that the VM is able to successfully
  transmit packets but never receives any and the RX packet drop
  counters for the VF in "ip link" on the host increase equal to the RX
  packet count.

  There is a prior commit e6ba5273d4ede03d075d7a116b8edad1f6115f4d
  claiming to resolve this error in some cases. It is already included
  in 5.15.0-41-generic and did not resolve the issue.

  The following conditions are required to trigger the bug:
  - A port VLAN must be assigned by the host
  - The MTU must be set >1500 by the guest

  There is no workaround, Intel E810 SR-IOV VFs with MTU >1500 cannot be
  used without these patches.

  [Fix]

  iavf currently sets the maximum packet size to IAVF_MAX_RXBUFFER, but
  on the previous ice driver, it was decremented by VLAN_HLEN to make
  some space to fit the VLAN header. This doesn't happen on iavf, and we
  end up trying to use a packet size larger than IAVF_MAX_RXBUFFER,
  causing the IAVF_ERR_PARAM error.

  The fix is to change the maximum packet size from IAVF_MAX_RXBUFFER to
  max_mtu received from the PF via GET_VF_RESOURCES msg.

  Also pick up a necessary commit for i40e to announce the correct
  maximum packet size by GET_VF_RESOURCES msg.

  This has been fixed by the following commits:

  Link:
https://github.com/torvalds/linux/commit/372539def2824c43b6afe2403045b140f65c5acc

  A test kernel is available in the following ppa:

  https://launchpad.net/~arif-ali/+archive/ubuntu/sf00343742

  If you install the test kernel to a compute host and VM, when you
  attach a VF and set the MTU to 9000, it succeeds, and traffic can
  flow.

  [Test Plan]

  Create a Focal VM and assign an Intel E810 (ice) SR-IOV VF with a port
  vlan:

  Openstack works, as does creating a VM directly with uvtool/libvirt.

  $ uvt-kvm create focal-test release=focal

  Using the document to understand SRIOV basics in the link below

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/developer/articles/technical/configure-
  sr-iov-network-virtual-functions-in-linux-kvm.html

  The following command show all the bus info for all the network
  devices

  $ lshw -c network -businfo

  Choose one, as shown below

  pci@:17:01.4  ens2f0v4 networkEthernet Adaptive
  Virtual Function

  We can then add the following into the XML definition via “virsh edit
  focal-test”

  Then we stop and start the VM via "virsh shutdown focal-test" and then
  "virsh start focal-test". We can then login to the VM using the
  command below

  $ uvt-kvm ssh focal-test

  Once you have logged in, run the following ip parameters

  $ sudo ip a a 192.168.1.7/24 dev enp7s0
  $ sudo ip link set up dev enp7s0
  $ sudo ip link set mtu 9000 dev enp7s0

  Now check dmesg, and we will find the error

  [   61.529605] iavf :07:00.0: PF returned error -5
  (IAVF_ERR_PARAM) to our request 6

  Setting the IP and bringing the link up

  [ 36.228877] iavf :07:00.0 enp7s0: NIC Link is Up Speed is 25 Gbps Full
Duplex
  [   36.228887] IPv6: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_CHANGE): enp7s0: link becomes ready
  [   45.740100] crng init done
  [ 45.740102] random: 7 urandom warning(s) missed due to ratelimiting

  Then setting the MTU

  [ 61.433706] iavf :07:00.0: Received 16 queues, but can only have a max
of 4

  The following conditions are required to trigger the bug:
  - A port VLAN must be assigned by the host
  - The MTU must be set >1500 by the guest

- It appears that this ice/iavf driver is quite immature as many
- significant SR-IOV related fixes have landed in each of the recent
- kernel releases and we may need to consider pro-actively backporting
- more fixes.
+ There is no workaround, Intel E810 SR-IOV VFs with MTU >1500 cannot be
+ used without these patches.

- [ Impact ]
+ [Fix]

- Intel E810 (host: ice) SR-IOV VFs (guest: iavf) fail when a port VLAN is
- assigned by the host and the guest changes the MTU >1500. The guest iavf
- driver logs the following error and traffic flow stops:
- iavf :00:05.0: PF returned error -5 (IAVF_ERR_PARAM) to our request 6
+ iavf currently sets the maximum packet size to IAVF_MAX_RXBUFFER, but on

+ The fix is to change the maximum packet size from IAVF_MAX_RXBUFFER to
+ max_mtu received from the PF via GET_VF_RESOURCES msg.

- [ Fix ]
+ Also pick up a necessary commit for i40e to announce the correct maximum
+ packet size by GET_VF_RESOURCES msg.

- During queue configuration, VF's max packet size was set to
- IAVF_MAX_RXBUFFER but on ice max frame size was smaller by VLAN_HLEN
- due to making some space for port VLAN as VF is not aware whether it's
- in a port VLAN. This mismatch in sizes caused ice to reject queue
- configuration with ERR_PARAM error. Proper max_mtu is sent from ice PF
- to VF with GET_VF_RESOURCES msg but VF does not look at this.
+ This has been fixed by the following commits:

- In iavf change max_frame from IAVF_MAX_RXBUFFER to max_mtu
- received from pf with GET_VF_RESOURCES msg to make vf's
- max_frame_size dependent from pf. Add check if received max_mtu is
- not in eligible range then set it to IAVF_MAX_RXBUFFER.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1981433] Re: [Asus Zenbook UX3402ZA] Sound doesn't work at all

2022-10-03 Thread Chris Chiu
According to the init_pin_configs of the attached alsainfo.txt, this
machine has already been applied with the fixup ALC294_FIXUP_ASUS_HPE.
But you might need more EAPD setting to enable the speaker.

Please try the following commands to see if speaker works.
sudo hda-verb /dev/snd/hwC0D0 0x20 SET_COEF_INDEX 0x40
sudo hda-verb /dev/snd/hwC0D0 0x20 SET_PROC_COEF 0x8800

Remember to install alsa-tools if command `hda-verb` not found.

Status in ubuntu-restricted-extras package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  The problem started to appear 2 weeks ago after one of my daily
  updates. It also happens after I re-install the system from a freshly
  downloaded ISO file. The system freezes at the moment, it starts the
  gnome display manager.

  I file the bug-report after a partial upgrade just before I will
  reboot the system. If needed I can reboot in recovery mode, since the
  gnome display manager is not started in that case.

  I tried the continue button without effect and also "apt upgrade" and
  "apt dist-upgrade" do have the same effect

  I run the VM from the Host-OpenZFS file system, so I can restore to
  before the update. Recently I use a Virtualbox snapshot to restore the
  system to before the update/upgrade.

  If you need log files, let me know.

  It hangs while doing S3 test on the platform with CPU Intel(R) Pentium(R)
Silver N6005 @ 2.00GHz

  [Fix]
  Can't reproduce this issue with v5.18-rc1 kernel, so bisecting the kernel and
found this below commit
  567511462387 mm/memcg: protect memcg_stock with a local_lock_t
  For safty, I backported the series of the patch
  https://www.spinics.net/lists/cgroups/msg31595.html
  But I still can reproduce the issue after applied those patches on top of
5.17 oem kernel.
  So, I did a second round of bisecting and found below commit is required, too
  a74c6c00b1cb mm/memremap: avoid calling kasan_remove_zero_shadow() for device
private memory

  [Test]
  Done the S3 test 400 times on the target and it's still working well.

  [Where problems could occur]
  Hard to evaluate the impact, but from the overnight test, the memory usage is
still low, so there should be no memory leakage, and can't find any fix patch
for those applied commits from upstream and linux-next trees.
  The patches are all from v5.18-rc1, so we only need them to be applied on
oem-5.17 kernel, and will let QA to do thoroughly tests.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1990997] Re: en_ZA locale not correct in applications

Title:
  en_ZA locale not correct in applications

Status in libreoffice package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  In all Ubuntu based distributions I have found that in applications
  such as LibreOffice Calc where I need to see formats applicable to my
  locale en_ZA (South Africa) the decimal place is denoted by , in the
  application even though the file /usr/share/i18n/locales/en_ZA is
  correct in specifying the decimal place as denoted by a .

  This is the same for monetary values where it is showing , in
  applications instead of the . as specified in the locale file. The
  comma was deprecated in South Africa in the 1990s and the generally
  accepted decimal is .

  This makes it extremely difficult to transfer Windows Excel files that
  have decimal points to a Linux distro that strictly enforces
  recognising a decimal with a comma and hence renders the Windows Excel
  file useless in Linux.

  The Windows feature of customising locales in terms of date, time,
  decimal place and digit grouping within the GUI is sorely missing from
  all desktops in Linux and so this cannot be fixed by the end-user.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1842320] Re: Can't boot: "error: out of memory." immediately after the grub menu

Title:
  Can't boot: "error: out of memory." immediately after the grub menu

Status in grub:

Status in OEM Priority Project:
  Triaged
Status in grub2-signed package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged
Status in initramfs-tools package in Ubuntu:
  Won't Fix
Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  [Impact]

   * In some cases, if the users’ initramfs grow bigger, then it’ll
  likely not be able to be loaded by grub2.

   * Some real cases from OEM projects:

  In many built-in 4k monitor laptops with nvidia drivers, the u-d-c
  puts the nvidia*.ko to initramfs which grows the initramfs to ~120M.
  Also the gfxpayload=auto will remain to use 4K resolution since it’s
  what EFI POST passed.

  In this case, the grub isn't able to load initramfs because the
  grub_memalign() won't be able to get suitable memory for the larger
  file:

  ```
  #0 grub_memalign (align=1, size=592214020) at ../../../grub-core/kern/mm.c:376
  #1 0x7dd7b074 in grub_malloc (size=592214020) at
../../../grub-core/kern/mm.c:408
  #2 0x7dd7a2c8 in grub_verifiers_open (io=0x7bc02d80, type=131076)
  at ../../../grub-core/kern/verifiers.c:150
  #3 0x7dd801d4 in grub_file_open (name=0x7bc02f00
"/boot/initrd.img-5.17.0-1011-oem",
  type=131076) at ../../../grub-core/kern/file.c:121
  #4 0x7bcd5a30 in ?? ()
  #5 0x7fe21247 in ?? ()
  #6 0x7bc030c8 in ?? ()
  #7 0x00017fe21238 in ?? ()
  #8 0x7bcd5320 in ?? ()
  #9 0x7fe21250 in ?? ()
  #10 0x in ?? ()
  ```

  Based on grub_mm_dump, we can see the memory fragment (some parts seem
  likely be used because of 4K resolution?) and doesn’t have available
  contiguous memory for larger file as:

  ```
  grub_real_malloc(...)
  ...
  if (cur->size >= n + extra)
  ```

  Based on UEFI Specification Section 7.2[1] and UEFI driver writers’
  guide 4.2.3[2], we can ask 32bits+ on AllocatePages().

  As most X86_64 platforms should support 64 bits addressing, we should
  extend GRUB_EFI_MAX_USABLE_ADDRESS to 64 bits to get more available
  memory.

   * When users grown the initramfs, then probably will get initramfs
  not found which really annoyed and impact the user experience (system
  not able to boot).

  [Test Plan]

   * detailed instructions how to reproduce the bug:

  1. Any method to grow the initramfs, such as install nvidia-driver.

  2. If developers would like to reproduce, then could dd if=/dev/random
  of=... bs=1M count=500, something like:

  ```
  $ cat /usr/share/initramfs-tools/hooks/zzz-touch-a-file
  #!/bin/sh
  PREREQ=""
  prereqs()
  {
  echo "$PREREQ"
  }
  case $1 in
  # get pre-requisites
  prereqs)
  prereqs
  exit 0
  ;;
  esac
  . /usr/share/initramfs-tools/hook-functions
  dd if=/dev/random of=${DESTDIR}/test-500M bs=1M count=500
  ```

  And then update-initramfs

   * After applying my patches, the issue is gone.

   * I did also test my test grubx64.efi in:

  1. X86_64 qemu with
  1.1. 60M initramfs + 5.15.0-37-generic kernel
  1.2. 565M initramfs + 5.17.0-1011-oem kernel

  2. Amd64 HP mobile workstation with
  2.1. 65M initramfs + 5.15.0-39-generic kernel
  2.2. 771M initramfs + 5.17.0-1011-oem kernel

  All working well.

  [Where problems could occur]

  * The changes almost in i386/efi, thus the impact will be in the i386 /
x86_64 EFI system.
  The other change is to modify the “grub-core/kern/efi/mm.c” but I use the
original addressing for “arm/arm64/ia64/riscv32/riscv64”.
  Thus it should not impact them.

  * There is a “#if defined(__x86_64__)” which intent to limit the >
  32bits code in i386 system and also

  ```
   #if defined (__code_model_large__)
  -#define GRUB_EFI_MAX_USABLE_ADDRESS 0x
  +#define GRUB_EFI_MAX_USABLE_ADDRESS __UINTPTR_MAX__
  +#define GRUB_EFI_MAX_ALLOCATION_ADDRESS 0x7fff
   #else
   #define GRUB_EFI_MAX_USABLE_ADDRESS 0x7fff
  +#define GRUB_EFI_MAX_ALLOCATION_ADDRESS 0x3fff
   #endif
  ```

  If everything works as expected, then i386 should working good.

  If not lucky, based on “UEFI writers’ guide”[2], the i386 will get >
  4GB memory region and never be able to access.

Bug description:
  IMPACT:
  Old, circa 2002 chipsets have a bug: they don't go idle when they are
  supposed to. So, a workaround was added to slow the CPU down and
  ensure that the CPU waits a bit for the chipset to actually go idle.
  This workaround is ancient and has been in place in some form since
  the original kernel ACPI implementation.

  But, this workaround is very painful on modern systems. The "inl()"
  can take thousands of cycles (see Link: for some more detailed
  numbers and some fun kernel archaeology).

  First and foremost, modern systems should not be using this code.
  Typical Intel systems have not used it in over a decade because it is
  horribly inferior to MWAIT-based idle.

  Despite this, people do seem to be tripping over this workaround on
  AMD system today.

  Limit the "dummy wait" workaround to Intel systems. Keep Modern AMD
  systems from tripping over the workaround. Remotely modern Intel
  systems use intel_idle instead of this code and will, in practice,
  remain unaffected by the dummy wait.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1971193] Re: Server Crash while running IO and switch port bounce test with 2K login session

2022-10-03 Thread Laurie Barry
Yes, this is verified complete from our perspective based Development's
verification.

Was the test kernel you gave us was from your formal build process or
whether it was your personal sandbox build?

If what we've already received is a formal build then we will forward in
our DVT test organization and let you now if we find any other issues
but we don't anticipate any.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1988488] Re: Screen freeze at the moment of login on VirtualBox: [drm:vmw_msg_ioctl [vmwgfx]] *ERROR* Failed to open channel.

2022-10-03 Thread BertN45
A screenshot of my settings in Virtualbox are in the attachment. If
needed I can also send the vbox file. Note that the first thing I do, if
I run into display/video issues, is switching off 3D acceleration, but
that did not help this time.

Title:
  Screen freeze at the moment of login on VirtualBox: [drm:vmw_msg_ioctl
  [vmwgfx]] *ERROR* Failed to open channel.

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:

Bug description:
  [IMPACT/Justification]
  There are numerous bug fixes included in the more recent version of lpfc that
Broadcom has asked to pull into Jammy and Kinetic. These all are limited to
the lpfc driver itself, no patches to core code are requested.

  [FIX]

  A few of these were already landed in Jammy, and all but 6 (ones
  landed in 6.0 upstream) were already in Kinetic.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1988488] Re: Screen freeze at the moment of login on VirtualBox: [drm:vmw_msg_ioctl [vmwgfx]] *ERROR* Failed to open channel.

2022-10-03 Thread Marian Rainer-Harbach
Hi Daniel, I played around with VirtualBox settings and Ubuntu installer
settings: The problem seems to occur only when "Install third-party
software for graphics and Wi-Fi hardware and additional media formats"
is selected in the Ubuntu installer.

If the option is _not_ selected, the installed system boots normally.
And indeed, after then installing the package ubuntu-restricted-extras,
the problem occurs on the next boot.

Title:
  Screen freeze at the moment of login on VirtualBox: [drm:vmw_msg_ioctl
  [vmwgfx]] *ERROR* Failed to open channel.

Status in linux package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1991551] Re: i2c-mlxbf.c: Sync up driver with upstreaming

2022-10-03 Thread Asmaa Mnebhi
** Description changed:

  SRU Justification:

  [Impact]

  Several i2c-mlxbf.c patches have been upstreamed recently and are in
  linux-next at the moment. So revert all changes in both Focal (5.4) and
  Jammy (5.15) and cherry-pick all changes from linux-next master.

- IMPORTANT NOTE: please make sure you also load the latest UEFI (EDK2)
- firmware because there are dependencies.
+ IMPORTANT NOTE: The new linux i2c support for BF3 also REQUIRES
+ upgrading the UEFI firmware version. For BF1 and BF2 however, this
+ driver should be backward compatible with older UEFI versions.

Bug description:
  [Impact]
  Unprivileged users have access to BPF, allowing them to execute code in the
kernel under their control. Though restricted and verified, a lot of security
issues have been uncovered over the years, indicating that it should be
disabled by default in order to protect our users.

  Admins can reenable that access or give CAP_BPF to programs if needed.

  [Test case]
  A qa-regression-testing testcase has been added that checks for the ability
to load BPF programs under different circumstances.

  [Potential regression]
  Users who rely on unprivileged BPF access will need to change the setting or
give CAP_BPF to their programs. Also, sysctl and bpf code might be affected.

replaced /usr/lib/firmware/rtl_bt/rtl8761bu_fw.bin and deleted
rtl8761bu_config.bin
  After I changed firmware my usb dongle work fine.

  Could you change firmware rtl8761bu_fw.bin rtl8761bu_config.bin to other
correct version?
  Could you move Realtek's rtl_bt firmware or RTL8761B's firmware into separate
packages. I will remove the RTL8761B firmware package and put them manually.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1908894] Re: USB controllers disconnects after random time

2022-10-03 Thread Piotr Henryk Dabrowski
I had problems with my USB 3.5" hard disk case disconnecting randomly.

I found recommendation to turn off USB xHCI Handoff option in BIOS.

I also disabled USB autosuspend with `usbcore.autosuspend=-1` kernel
parameter (`GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="..."` in /etc/default/grub, then
`sudo update-grub`)

Neither of the above helped.

Then I added `no-usb-handoff` kernel parameter,
and also `usbcore.quirks=1234:5678:en` quirk [1],
where 1234:5678 is the idVendor:idProduct identifier of your device, obtainable
with `lsusb`:

e = USB_QUIRK_RESET (device can't be reset (e.g morph devices), don't use
reset);
n = USB_QUIRK_DELAY_CTRL_MSG (Device needs a pause after every control message);

And that seems to have finally done the trick. No more disconnects.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1970957] Re: suspend problem

2022-10-03 Thread dnsem
I have same problem - suspend is OK but resume leaves no signal on monitor. I
can ssh to the machine and reboot.
This is irrespective of Wayland/Xorg, BIOS security etc.
Tried with kernels 5.15.0-48-generic and 5.17.0-1018-oem.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1961338] Re: Disable unprivileged BPF by default

2022-10-03 Thread Ubuntu Kernel Bot
This bug is awaiting verification that the linux-xilinx-
zynqmp/5.4.0-1018.21 kernel in -proposed solves the problem. Please test
the kernel and update this bug with the results. If the problem is
solved, change the tag 'verification-needed-focal' to 'verification-
done-focal'. If the problem still exists, change the tag 'verification-
needed-focal' to 'verification-failed-focal'.

If verification is not done by 5 working days from today, this fix will
be dropped from the source code, and this bug will be closed.

See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how
to enable and use -proposed. Thank you!

  Hello,

  I noticed that kernel which was used in ubuntu 22.04 (hwe-5.13) does
  not contain fixes for IO statistics for md devices. IO statistics for
  md devices were added to kernel 5.10

(https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=41d2d848e5c09209bdb57ff9c0ca34075e22783d)
  but then bug for double fault was reported and this patch was reverted
  by Guoqing Jiang

(https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=ad3fc798800fb7ca04c1dfc439dba946818048d8).

  Guoqing Jiang added series of patches which fixes problem and adds IO stats
for md devices on top on the revert patch:
  - first commit from series: 10764815ff4728d2c57da677cd5d3dd6f446cf5f
(https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=10764815ff4728d2c57da677cd5d3dd6f446cf5f)

  I checked that kernel used in ubuntu 22.04 contains only patch with revert -
iostat does not report for md devices
(https://kernel.ubuntu.com/git/ubuntu/ubuntu-focal.git/log/?h=hwe-5.13=author=Guoqing+Jiang)

  [Potential regression]
  Users who rely on unprivileged BPF access will need to change the setting or
give CAP_BPF to their programs. Also, sysctl and bpf code might be affected.

Bug description:
  The PCI Passthrough implementation is based on intercepting PCI I/O
instructions which leads to a reduced I/O performance compared to execution of
PCI instructions in LPAR.
  For improved performance the interpretive execution of the PCI store and PCI
load instructions get enabled.
  Further improvement is achieved by enabling the Adapter-Event-Notification

Bug description:
  Title: Independent Usage of Secondary Physical Function"

  Description:
  "This feature adds the ability for a Linux running in LPAR to use the
Physical Function (PF) associated with the second port of a ConnectX-5/6 card
independent of that of the first port.
  Prior to this feature, if the secondary PF was attached to an LPAR without
also attaching the primary PF, no PCI function would be visible in Linux. The
function would instead remain
  in a hidden and disabled state. Conversely it has always been possible to use
the primary PF without attaching the secondary PF. This existing behavior is
confusing and needlessly
  restricts flexible usage of these powerful network cards. The new behavior of
allowing independent usage is also in accordance with the PCI SR-IOV
specification which explicitly
  defines the dependencies between PCI functions in the Dependency Link field
which is still honored and for ConnectX-5/6 cards allows this independent
usage."

Bug description:
  KVM: Secure Execution guest dump encryption with customer keys -
  kernel part

  Description:
  Hypervisor-initiated dumps for Secure Execution guests are not helpful
because memory and CPU state is encrypted by a transient key only available to
the Ultravisor. Workload owners can still configure kdump in order to obtain
kernel crash infomation, but there are situation where kdump doesn't work. In
such situations problem determination is severely impeded. This feature will
implement dumps created in a way that can only be decrypted by the owner of the
guest image and be used for problem determination.

[Kernel-packages] [Bug 1981433] Re: [Asus Zenbook UX3402ZA] Sound doesn't work at all

2022-10-03 Thread Chris Chiu
Got it. Just google for the UX3402ZA, it supports multi-dimensional
audio and may indicate the it needs some extra settings for the
speakers. The fixup ALC289_FIXUP_ASUS_GA401 may be useful. Could you
help try my test kernel debian and update the result for me?
