[Koha] Publisher question - Changing Background color

2021-07-29 Thread jeff haskell
My talented listmates,

I have a deadline for tomorrow and just was presented this challenge
by a library patron.

They want to change the "background" color inside of a .png graphic
to pink in Publisher 365.

It's a free clip art with the word Sheriff inside a circle and they
want to keep the black lettering for the word Sheriff as well as the
lines coming to points inside that graphic.

They just want to change the color "behind" and round the word Sheriff to pink.

This is for a menu for a small restaurant they just started.

Would you be so kind as to share the steps in Publisher?

I tried Page Design Background More Backgrounds and choose pink in
the color palettes selection but ti changes the work Sherrif form
black lettering to pink - not what this patron wanted.

Thank you so much.

[Koha] Publisher + Video Editing

2019-03-18 Thread jeff haskell
Hi my learned listmates,

Working as a library technician, the county offers certain courses for
continuing education.

I’ve contacted instructors who teach MS Publisher and shared a file
I’ve been trying for a long time to recreate and then edit but these
instructors had no suggestions.

I subscribed to an online MS Publisher forum and posted my Publisher
question and then reposted and it neared over 20 views but no
responses.

Has anyone found a good online forum to help them troubleshoot
Publisher projects?

I’ve watched numerous YouTube tutorials but none addressed the task
I’m trying to accomplish.

I’m happy to share that file via email with anyone who’d be willing to
take a look at it? It’s a small file.

It’s really too much describe in just words.

Also, has anyone found a good video editing online forum?

Again, this would not be for a tutorial but for interactive
conversations like this online group?

Thank you.

[Koha] Drawing Software - Floor Mapping Library's Collections

2018-07-16 Thread jeff haskell
 Hi,

I'm new to the list and grateful to be here.

I'm interested in drawing software so patrons and new staff,
volunteers and student interns can find materials on shelves easily
 and quickly.

Ex. one set of shelves to the far left of the circulation desk would
be labeled Fiction. Then the next set of shelves named Mystery in the
shelves bay to the right of the Fiction shelves bay and then to the
right of that the shelves Bay for Supernatural.

This would be a floor plan so a patron could walk around the library
and look at this floor plan map and know where Fiction is - where
Mystery is, Biography, etc. for every collection throughout the
 library.

If I sat with an illustrator they could probably draw it all up in
about 20-30 minutes and I would just scan what they drew and have a
map (crude compared to a 3D) but enough so a patron could find items.

But, is there any *free* easy to learn / easy to use software which
could accomplish that?

 Thank you!
