Bug 7537 - Implement TraceCompleteSubfields and TraceSubjectSubdivisions for
NORMARC XSLT
As the title says, this patch implements TraceCompleteSubfields and
TraceSubjectSubdivisions for NORMARC XSLT, both for the OPAC and the
Intranet. This affects how clickable subject-links are constructed.
To test:
Find a record with a complex subject, like Art -- United States.
MARC21 and NORMARC are very similar in how they handle subjects, so testing
on a MARC21 database should be OK.
Make sure you have these syspref settings:
- marcflavour = NORMARC
- XSLTDetailsDisplay = using XSLT stylesheets
- OPACXSLTDetailsDisplay = using XSLT stylesheets
Now try the different combinations of TraceCompleteSubfields and
TraceSubjectSubdivisions and check the format of the clickable links,
both in the OPAC and staff client. Here's what you should be seeing:

I think having the fund names unique within a budget would make sense, but having them unique on database level seems not right to me. By that would not have been generic enough anyway. Deciding which subfields should be prefilled and which should not has to be the librarian's call. So I came up with another solution (based on biblibre MT6413, for reference): a syspref has been added, in which we can give a list of the subfields that should not be prefilled. I also added informations in the commit message. This pulldown Search Fields can have any number of field combinations to search on. As Owen pointed out while testing the patch, though, longtime users of Koha will not be expecting that. In keeping with the principles of least surprise and maximum configurability, a new syspref, CatalogModuleRelink makes it possible to disable authority relinking in the cataloging module only (i.e. leaving it enabled for future runs of link_bibs_to_authorities.pl). Note that though the default behavior matches the current behavior of Koha, it does not match the intended behavior. On one hand, if a library duplicates their budgets/funds, I can't see why they should rename them, for sure On the other hand, if a libray needs to duplicates their budgets/funds, to me, it means that they might have a lot of them. At this point, I can see why they want Koha to tell them that they already created a fund with the same name/code when they will create the funds in the first place... The old fund could be pre or post-fixed by something chose when duplicating the budget/funds. But I'm not sure of the impact of this... At the same time, all the budgets will be inactive once they have been duplicated so maybe we dont care... If there are duplicates, they can be corrected easily. Or perhaps it would perhaps make sense to have a client side check for the same fund name on the same hierarchy level. In my opinion the problem in budgets and funds is not so much possible duplication, but the missing reflection of hierarchies in display. I could imagine it would be clearer if we did something like: fund (budget) = Books (2012) or budget (as optgroup in the list) fund fund fund budget fund fund child fund child fund etc. But that is clearly a different problem :) I think libraries want to reuse their budget codes and descriptions, because they are using the names and budget codes from their institution. A new boolean parameter $opac has been added to let GetItemsInfo know if the data is destined for the opac or intranet view.
