KR> Root Beer
I thought you guys were actually talking about root beer. AB meant A&B . . . actually that's A&W but that's how much thought I was giving it. I have not much interest in root beer although root beer floats can get me excited. As for the other . . . absolutely no interest. I'm stupid enough already. What is it the regs say about drinking and smoking. - no drinking within 50 feet of an aircraft and no smoking eight hours before flight??? Glad I'm a non-smoker. Just a thought; why not rotate the whole thing 90 degrees clockwise, vent it through the side of the plane with a reverse NACA duct in the fuselage; or maybe a venturi vent in the cowl? Mark W. I do plan to build one that straddles the exhaust pipe, but it will be a real ordeal, and will be in such close contact with the exhaust that I don't give the life expectancy much hope. But that's exactly the kind of stuff I'm saying I plan to do in this effort. Perhaps I should have waited until I was completely done and presented the information, rather than throwing it out in the middle of the effort and giving the impression that I was stumped on how to deal with this. KR> UFO Alert - EAA 21 Club Fly-In Lunch at KEHR
This Saturday is the monthly EAA 21 Club Fly-In Lunch. We should have the best fly-in weather of the summer so plan on joining us and enjoy some of our gourmet burgers, dogs and brats. Just as New York's 21 Club has become known as the HAPPENING PLACE to be and be seen, EAA 21 Club is the place to be on the first Saturday of the month. When: September 4 10:00 AM till 2:00 PM Central time Where: Henderson Kentucky City-County Airport (KEHR) If KEHR is VFR then we are grilling the best gourmet hamburgers, brats and hot dogs this side of Sporty's for all that fly or drive in. We had 40 planes and a bunch of drive-ins last month. We should have some of the best weather of the Summer this Saturday so fly-in; the two tier observation deck always has a nice breeze and the FBO lounge is AIR CONDITIONED. A Keg of Amber would be great as long as it will get drank, but would be a waste if it is not drank up. I can drink my share of Amber but 16 gal is a lot of root beer. If the general attendance can put it away, I can bring it no probelm there. How do you all feel about that? Also when is everyone going to start showing up? I have a doctor visit Friday at 10:00 wont leave Terre Haute, In. till after that. Its a five hour drive (297 mile ) from here so I will be there around 16:30 or 17:00 4:30 or 5:00 pm I can have it on ice covered with a blanket ready to go. We can save some of this for the Gathering might be interesting to hear around the camp fire! Which is another question, will there be a place for us to have a camp fire and camp not knowing if I am going to be able to go I have not worried about it. Now that it is looking cautiously optimistic that I can go now is the time to ask. So will there be camping and a place for a fire and root beer? I will bring the big cooler full of A. KR> Re: oil cooler testing
Mark, Perhaps using 2-inch SCAT, instead of 1.5-inch, would have less restriction to get more air flow to the cooler. Looks like you are dumping the oil cooler out flow into the engine compartment high on the fire wall. This is a relatively high air pressure location; the local air pressure at the oil cooler outlet needs to be low to get max air flow through the cooler. You could make an outlet duct for the oil cooler and route the outlet flow directly to the air outlet point at the bottom of the fire wall for max suction. KR> kr stretch
1-Have aquired an older unfinished project, boat stage...and plan to stretch it two feet. I have successfully done 18" in the past but now I thought I would beg the comments from others and to see if anyone else out there has stretched this lenght. 2-This will be my fourth KR project. Unfortunately none were kept long enough to later evaluate my use of blue board styrofoam insulation instead of urethane foam. Does anyone on the KR net have experience on this? 3-What is the useful life of a KR? Does anyone on this list have a KR with the original builders placque afixed with the name Pat Russo or Keith Hoag (my brother-in-law and partner in building)? The build dates are in the seventies, eighties and nineties. My lord that is almost a third of a century! I must be getting on. Fortunately my brain is still in the embryonic stage. Pat Russo >
