It seems to be human nature to only report the bad so I thought I would try to
break that trend. I have been getting more serious about building a KR2s and
have been studying the plans in detail. I realized last week I was missing a
drawing. I sent Steve an email about this and had barely hit the send key when
my phone rang. It was Steve at NVaero, I told him what was missing, he said he
would mail it to me in a week or so and we had a very nice talk about kr's in
general. Went to the mailbox today and there was my missing drawing as promised
(thanks Steve). I know there has been some negative reports posted about
NVaero's customer service but ?this is my second dealing with Steve and I have
had only good experiences. I think Steve is doing a great jobthanks
again...Robert

KR> Broke Brake

2016-10-17 Thread bjoenunley

Dear krnet,
My left master cylinder won't work.
I purchased the bleed kit from Harbor Freight and it works great on the right
brake. ?The left it won't.
I pulled the brakes out of the airplane to test each part independently and
found no fault.
I set up the brake system outside the airplane and it worked great. ?I was very
excited and pleased until I reinstalled it enthusiastically back into the
airplane and it didn't work. ?
The brakes are the only thing keeping me from taxi testing my KR2. ?
Imagine my frustration!
I usually have to do every thing on my plane three times before i like it but
this is rediculous.?

My experience was fine with them too I purchased kr1 plans. I'm really glad
they are there and have the products that they have and I am looking
forward to getting wing skins and who knows what else, when I can afford it.

2016-10-17 Thread Chris Kinnaman
Could be settings on your mail client. You may be able to reset some
preferences to let images through. I had some issues with some images
not appearing from some senders, but OK from others. I don't remember
what I did but eventually the problem was solved. I'm using Thunderbird
as my mail client. Disclaimer: I had no issues with images in messages
sent by KRnet members.

Also, I use Postimage for uploading files to the interweb these days,
much easier than Dropbox.

I got the picture also, and have never heard anyone complain of not
receiving a photo that was replaced by anything resembling "scrubbed".
I suspect you have some kind of overactive anti malware stuff running,
or your ISP is doing you the "favor" of saving you from potentially
dangerous JPG files (which are pretty rare, I'm sure).

While we're on the subject of pictures, I'd like to remind people that
there is a limit of 250kb for messages, which means you can't send a
photo over about 200kb. You can't just take a photo with a digital
camera or smart phone and send it to the link without thinking...they
are quote often several Mb (which far exceeds the limit), and the jerk
moderator isn't going to approve them, so learn how to resize (smaller)
and compress your images before you send them to 800 people, or get a
free "dropbox" account, upload the photos, and send the link to 800
people instead.

Thanks,

KR> canopy

2016-10-17 Thread n357cj
Hey Dan,
I am using many of the details from N357CJ that have served well for 11 years
now. In the case of the canopy it will have a joggle on all edges that will be
flush with what ever surface the canopy is meeting upon closing. That is about
3/8" of over lap. Then on which ever surface is most convenient I will install
a commercial ?stick on bulb door seal from the building industry. Sometimes
called a smoke seal. It is usually available in black or white and compresses
down to about 1/16". Following the installation instructions and applying to a
glossy painted surface I have had very little trouble with it becoming damaged
or wearing out.
?? ?You didn't ask but I think that in the picture you can see the way that I
am latching the canopy this time. I made a 1/4" rod that travels thru several
guides in the canopy frame and will penetrate the roll over bow of the turtle
deck as a positive latch and will prevent any sucking up and gaps at the top of
the canopy in flight.
