KR> Tri-cycle KR2 airframe for sale

2016-04-30 Thread Richard Kaczmarek
Well it is time to clean out the hanger and let go of some projects so I am
offering up my KR2 complete airframe. It must go asking $1000 or bring me
an offer. No FWF but does have a VW engine mount.

KR> KR2 project for sale

2015-11-12 Thread Richard Kaczmarek
We have a KR2 project that has to go. It was a flying plane years ago but
the last owner lost interest and we don't have time. The airframe is
complete with some instruments but no engine. It does have an engine mount
for a VW conversion. Asking price is $2500 or make us an offer. It has got
to go. Does also come with its complete set of plans and bill of sale. The
project is located in South Carolina.

KR> KR2 project for sale

2015-10-26 Thread Richard Kaczmarek
Well the time has come to clean out the hanger. Our business needs the
space to start production of a new kit plane. We no longer have the time
and space to complete all the projects we own as a company so here is the
first that needs to go. This was a once flying KR2 and started life as a
tricycle retract. We were going to convert to a fixed gear to save weight
and due to the fact it was needing to much to correct and make safe. The
airframe is complete and comes with everything including a GP2300 VW with
prop, GRT systems monitor and the basic flight instruments. The wings are
built with Diehl skins, it does have additional fuel in the wings at 5 gal
per side plus the header. This is a fantastic and fairly simple project you
can't buy the parts to build for our asking price of $5000

KR> Tri-Gear Retracts?

2015-01-26 Thread Richard Kaczmarek
I guess I should add to this topic since I am rebuilding a tri gear
retract. I attached a couple photos and would like to find history on this
plane if possible. The KR2 I have is a standard and has a retract
conversion by Bill DE Freze. The mains are normal KR but installed on the
back side of the spar. The nose gear is steerable and fully reacts into the
fuselage. In my rebuilding I am putting this plane on a diet. I have
reconfigured the Tri-Q2 nose gear and plan to build a hoop gear unless I
can come across the mounts and legs for a KR2 for a reasonable price. The
tri gear on this plane is heavy and with a single stick about impossible to
operate. I don't know if these plans are still out there from Bill but I
would be happy to make copies for anyone who wants a copy as long as it
doesn't create issues as far as copyrights.

KR> Motus/Viking engines

2015-01-23 Thread Richard Kaczmarek
I have several thousand hours behind the VW and is probably the only auto
conversion I would ever fly behind. Joe at Revmaster is amazing to work
with. If I wasn't going to do it or the 0-200 I myself would go with
ULPower I really don't want to deal with the weight of water to cool the
engine plus it's just bulky all together. The UL engine is perpus built and
they have been around for better then 10 years now. Not to mention the cost
is about the same. After flying a Rans S-6 with a 912 I don't want leaking
water pumps and gearboxes. Granted Rotax did a good job of taking care of
warranty it was still an issue that will arise with a water cooled engine
and if it happens in flight you may not realize it till to late. Why add
more issues just remember KISS Keep It Simple Stupid. Just my 2 cents.

KR> Looking for Plans and a Person

2014-12-09 Thread Richard Kaczmarek
Hey Mark,

My interest and goal would be to handle everything from parts production to
having the plans made so that Jeannette wouldn't have to do anything just
cash a check. We can take any type of payment now and would build an
inventory to help cut lead times to days not weeks or months. The KR is a
fun little bird and I am working on an interesting one now with hopes to
have it back up and flying by spring. I will be posting progress reports on
Facebook as we get deeper into it.

KR> Engine Shipping

Last few engines I have shipped were done with Uship they bid on the
shipment and you are only required to place it on a pallet and tie it down.
Last one I shipped was an 0-300 from Ohio to Nevada and cost me $120 that
was just before Thanksgiving.

KR> Looking for Plans and a Person

2014-12-09 Thread Richard Kaczmarek
I have sent Steve an email about the ability of my company taking over the
production of parts and support of the KR, but have not heard back from him
as of yet. My proposal as the plans go would be to continue to produce them
with a proper s/n and place what would normally be paid out to the rights
holder in a separate account to be paid when the holder would come back
forward. This is what is currently done with The Fly Baby. I would not want
to get in a legal fight over rights ownership. By holding funds that way
the rights holder would be properly compensated.

KR> cowl hinge mounting

2014-11-25 Thread Richard Kaczmarek
My KR and several other aircraft I own have the wire hinges for the cowl
and I have never had an issue. Take a look at how Van's does theirs. It
makes for a nice clean look and a better looking fit on the cowl.

KR> borrow a dual plug VW head?

2014-10-25 Thread Richard Kaczmarek
We are starting the production of Christie's Aero engines and have both
plug in the top side of the heads. This keep them from oil fouling and
easy to service. I believe Scott at Hummel does the same.

KR> Gathering 2015/Tripple Tree Fly In

2014-08-26 Thread Richard Kaczmarek
Why not have the gathering at Triple Tree? It would be a chance to show off
the group support and a nice little airplane. It is something that I am
looking at for next year with the Quickie group. Nice part of Triple Tree
is a 7000' grass runway that is smoother then any asphalt runway I have
ever been to.

2013-08-15 Thread Richard Kaczmarek
Who gave you the price? Wick's aircraft supply has the wood kit listed in
their catalog that should give you a good comparison.
