KR> AeroPoxy and Micro Mixture

2011-10-11 Thread da...@windstream.net
The ratio of Resin to Hardener for AeroPoxy is 1 part Resin to .27 part
hardener and this is by weight, which I forgot to mention before.
The ratio is the same no matter what you are using it for, Micro, Flox,
Fiberglass, Carbon Fiber. It has to be the same.

Put your cup on the scale and set it to grams and zero it. Pour in as much
resin as you think you will need. Multiply that weight by 1.27. Pour in the
hardener until you reach that weight. Stir about 100 strokes and you are ready
to use the mixture for whatever you wish.

KR> AeroPoxy and Micro Mixture

2011-10-11 Thread da...@windstream.net
First, you need to remember to change the subject when you are changing the
subject. Your question had nothing to do with "Wingspan". I almost deleted it
because I have read enough about wingspan.

The ratio for mixing AeroPoxy is 1 resin to .27 hardener. For sealing the foam
with the Micro mixture, put in enough Micro to have it pour about like honey.
If you get it too thick, it will start rolling up the foam if you get that,
just put in a little more epoxy and keep on going.

I have a 3 1/8 that runs off my mag and you are welcome to borrow or buy it

 Jeff York wrote:

Ok guys, I appreciate the help but looking out the window may help me determine
if the prop is still moving I guess, and sometimes I like to use the loud noise

But seriously! I am not legal without a tach and I am running into obstacle's
trying to get a new one quickly. My current tach is a UMA 19-806-10G. It is a
single P lead driven tach off the mag with a ground and 12 volt leads as well.

My attempts to find an airport friend with a spare tach has done no good. My
search at Advanced auto turned up only tachs that stated. " Not for magneto" My
attempt to use a tiny tach borrowed from a friend did not work because it will
not work on shielded spark plug wires. In other words it would not work on a
Slick mag with typical shielded mag spark plug wires.

This is the big thing holding up completion of my annual/ condition inspection.
I also depend on my tach to help me set up all my approach speeds so a tach has
always been an important instrument to me. yes in a pinch I would get along
without but I would not intentionally go without one.

I have checked archives on this and can not seem to find anything.

So, if there is anyone who has some great advice/ suggestions, or if someone
knows of a 3 1/8 or not much smaller tach at NAPA or auto store that will work
in my shielded wire, Slick mag configuration. Please let me know as soon as
possible. My broken bones may keep me from flying my KR to gathering but a
fellow KR pilot and friend can fly it for me if I can get this taken care of.

Check around the airport to see if someone has one of the little hand

Joe Horton is running an Aerocarb. I'm sure he'll chime in when he gets

to stay that way. I do know that they don't appreciate fuel pump

KR> fasteners

2010-04-12 Thread da...@windstream.net

I rivet anchor nuts on the back side of the glass to which you want to screw
the part. You can also use flox to attach them, some prefer this, but I find
rivets to work well, and be less messy, and attach instantly. I then run a tap
through the ancho nut, so it won't strip the threads of the screw.
I use either 6-32 or 8-32 depending on the application. You can find them here,
and there are others to choose from. I avoid the floating type, like the plague.
