KR> Small Vendors and tasteless remarks

2016-08-10 Thread Paul Visk

Ok, ?I guess I'm going to have to chime in one more time. ?My opinion Steve and
?NVArow has done more for the kr2 movement than anyone else and with him
getting the rights (I guess) to the plans. He can keep them in stock so he can
ship them them alot faster.?The issues I have for ANY company is that they take
your money and don't comuicate with you when there is a unreasonable delay. ?I
understand things can held up or not under there control. But when this happens
the company has a responsibility to keep their customers informed.?
Again just my opinion.?Excuse my grammar. ?I'm not a very good writer.?

Well kids, I'd suggest some restraint the keyboard.? As Marc Baca eloquently
explained, many of these small business guys are doing what they do for
practically nothing... or less, because they love sharing the knowledge they
have accumulated.? It does none of us any good to denigrate them or their work.

It's not just a Southern California thing. As a small business owner
serving the E-AB community, I can tell you there are very few vendors in
my boat who are doing their aviation stuff as their only "job" - and I
believe only a very few are making any money beyond covering costs. The
majority are operating at a loss, investing money earned from other work
to keep the av activities alive. I promise you this: if customers had to
pay for items with the costs of the labor of the one-person operation
factored in at rate that was reasonable and accurate, they would be
yelling that they couldn't afford it. If you want to save money and have
your components right at hand, on your schedule, make them yourself.
It's not a mystery. But figure out how much your own time is worth per
hour and include that in your costs.
