KR>First Flight for N4027Y
Ladies and Gentlemen of the KRNET: It is my proud honor to announce that after 3 1/2 years of dedicated construction, my KR-2S with Subaru EJ-22 has taken flight. On two occasions today, N4027Y leapt off of runway 25 at Lompoc, California and climbed like an...overpowered KR-2S. It flies straight and level with the elevator trim in the neutral position and has no adverse roll tendency. At low altitude and an engine rpm of 4,000, (max will be about 5,000), I was indicating 160 mph. I'll keep you all abreast of max climb and max cruise speeds as I cautiously approach the outer limits of the performance envelope. RV

Congratulations, now you have to send some photos of your plane flying over the flower fields. Lompoc has to be one of the world's most beautiful places. I was at Vandenberg for a few years and loved it there. = Frank Ross, EAA Chapter 35, San Geronimo, TX RAF Lakenheath, Suffolk, England UK alamo...@yahoo.com __ Do you Yahoo!? On two occasions today, >RV = CONGRATULATIONS I'd probably be up there with you if my final inspection had not gotten cancelled last week. I hope to get it rescheduled and completed in the next couple of weeks. I've been making some "tail up" runs down the runway and if the inspector doesn't get here soon "Baby" and I may do something illegal !! What is the empty weight of your KR2S and what prop pitch and diameter are you using as well as the prop maker? Do you have the standard wing or the extended wings (premolded)? Your good news is what keeps the rest of us building toward our goal. Happy Flying. Larry Flesner

Roger congradulation on the first flight, I'm building a kr2s, have it in the boat stage. I too am planning on the sub ej22. What did your empty weight come out to? Could you tell us at what weight you are test flying this plane and what kind and size of prop are you using? Got any pictures?? - Original Message - From: roger mitchell To: KR builders and pilots Sent: Sunday, November 02, 2003 12:44 AM Subject: Re: KR>First Flight for N4027Y congradulations hope you can sleep tonight - Original Message - From: ronev...@aol.com To: kr...@mylist.net Sent: Sunday, November 02, 2003 12:28 AM Subject: KR>First Flight for N4027Y Ladies and Gentlemen of the KRNET: It is my proud honor to announce that after 3 1/2 years of dedicated construction, my KR-2S with Subaru EJ-22 has taken flight. ___ see KRnet list details at http://www.krnet.org/instructions.html ___ see KRnet list details at http://www.krnet.org/instructions.html
