[Bug 38086] Re: another process is using the packaging system database

2006-04-09 Thread Frederic MULLER
Hi,

I confirm this bug also. I'm under Dapper Flight 6 and I've this problem since
10 minutes.
I don't see any adept process except adept_notifier when I do ps -aux | grep
ade. If I kill it ... problem is the same is I try to launch Adept throw Menu
- System - Adept, and if I launch Add/remove programs I'll never see the
program window.

By Menu - System - Adept, Adept is launched, password is asked, readonly
database message from adept is prompted, mime-error message is prompted
(another but not blocking bug).
Then, into the Adept application, if set a package from not installed to to
install ... the button Apply modifications will never be enabled.

[Bug 36884] Re: Can't type accented vowels

2006-04-09 Thread Jose Troncoso
After all, it might not be a KTouch bug. I took Ktouch 1.4 from the kdeedu

doesn't show, and compiled it under Kubuntu 6.06 Dapper Drake with KDE 3.5.2,
and the problem is still there. So I guess the bug is in a KDE library used by

[Bug 31723] Re: gtk2-engines-gtk-qt causes GNOME looks ugly!

2006-04-09 Thread John Dong
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 36256 ***

I can confirm this on the latest dist-upgraded dapper. Logging in under KDE
with the setting Use my KDE style in GNOME creates a ~/.gtkrc that reads:
# This file was written by KDE
# You can edit it in the KDE control center, under GTK Styles and Fonts

include /usr/share/themes/Qt/gtk-2.0/gtkrc

style user-font
{
font_name=DejaVu Sans 9
}
widget_class * style user-font

gtk-theme-name=Qt
gtk-font-name=DejaVu Sans 9

On subsequent GNOME logins, GNOME also takes on the Qt theme, leading to QT
widgets inside GNOME. Deleting this .gtkrc-2.0 file and restarting GNOME yields
GNOME widgets in GNOME again, but starting KDE will cause this to happen all
over again.

This is a very irritating bug for switching back and forth from KDE. Whether
this is fixed through KDE being more careful about placing gtkrc files or
gnome-settings-daemon ignoring this file, it's an important fix for Dapper
because lots of curious newcomers will install both KDE and GNOME and be
clueless as to why KDE scars their GNOME apps.

People over at the forums have been anxious about Kaffeine 0.8.1 -- it
seems to resolve, among other things, DVD playback issues and media:/
handling issues.

It seems Kaffeine 0.8.1 is the version currently available in Debian unstable:

Yes, it was resolved just by updating to the newer version of amaroK.

Art,

Can you check if this problem is solved or not with a newer version of
KDE/Ubuntu (Breezy/Dapper)?

[Bug 38956] Re: Missing dependencies for install

2006-04-09 Thread keithCu
Also, now that I've install KDevelop, none of the icons show up. They all look
the same as a generic white box with a blue title bar. I would think the icons
would have an orange titlebar rather than a blue title bar, but it would be
nice to have better icons...
