For what it's worth, if I understood Yuriy Kozlov's description correctly, it hasn't happened yet and I hope it doesn't happen ever. I think the user can decide on their own where they want to type, and if they want to switch to check something in another application (e.g. confirm a howto with their browser) before signing the already-opened kdesu dialog, they should be able to do so, without having to cancel out of the dialog. I have a problem when I bypass knetworkmanager using a script to call WPA_supplicant and dhclient so I can connect to a secured network that knetwork doesn't support the settings for, my system will think it's off line. well any programs /applications that depend on knetworkmananger's little flag that states that I'm online, don't think I'm online because knetworkmanager doen't think I'm online. Their should be some way of ketworkmanager detecting incoming connections and determine if the connection is live then report the system as bing online. You have been subscribed to a public bug: I have a Zepto znote 3215w laptop. A clean install of Kubuntu Hardy Heron 8.4 (with the old KDE3). Sound was working fine, system sounds playing and mp3 playing in Amarok. Even Avi videos playing in Kaffeine (0.8.6). You can not imagine how happy I was to hear the sound working finally on my laptop (it did not work under previous versions of Kubuntu). But then I tried to play an DivX video in Kaffeine. No error message, the movie plays without sound. Kaffeine displays the mute sound icon. And you can not un-mute it. And after this happened, no more sounds are played. Not the Kubuntu system sounds, not the mp3:s that played before. Amarok starts playing the musik but you can not hear anything anymore.
