At the moment I haven't got the time to test this in karmic as this bug does not occur every time but sporadically. But I'm using kde 4.3 on on jaunty for some weeks now and indeed I haven't seen this bug since then. [Bug 375869] [NEW] audiocd kioslave extremely slow and stays open after ripping
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Running Kubuntu 9.04 with KDE 4.2.3 amd64. Using the audiocd kioslave in Jaunty to rip a CD is extremely slow: The ripping of a CD with 12 tracks takes almost 4 hours. I tried this on different PCs with either Kubuntu Intrepid with KDE 4.2.2 or Jaunty with KDE 4.2.3. The speed doesn't change notably whether I choose ogg, mp3 or wav as the target format. Also, once a CD rip is completed and the CD removed, the kioslave stays open and hogs almost 80% of the CPU. And when I click on the sdb2 icon for the first time, Dolphin asks for the password. I enter it, the mount symbol appears on the icon, but I cannot access it. Whenever I click on this icon, Dolphin jumps back to the previous location. No error message, nothing.
