Well that's not true, at least most of the time. Only devs can make such decisions. Here I am thankful this was still opened, or I wouldn't have worked on it. And the fact you receive emails like "A possibly relevant merge request was started" means some work is underway to implement the feature. It wasn't clear. I was suggesting it could be built-in (as suggested x-trash), like having a checkbox "[x] also hide application/x-trash files when hiding files". A built-in mime-type has the advantage of being easier to implement and less complexity exposed to the user.
