Would it not be better to use some mechanism to ask, which user

well, as it is only used to update the files on the pootle
server/not meant to be run by translators, I don't care about that
 - just want a name that is not used by something else :-))

I have not had translators in mind, but maybe other Pootle admins
... ;) Or is there only one user, which all admins use ;?

 Yeah :-)

Thanks you for your work (though I have to nag a bit ... ;) ) :)
I hope, I will have time to test your scripts on my system the
 next days ... ;)

See above - there should be no need for you to run the scripts -
they are run on the pootle server. German has the luck of being
further up in the alphabet (well, at least de is :-), so you
 should already see progress there.

O.K.

Thank you for your answer
Thomas.

Re: [libreoffice-l10n] accelerators

2013-11-28 Thread Akerbeltz.org
Not sure if this has been raised but making translators implement changes like ~
_ manually or when a typo in the source has been changed can introduce
regression in terms of the quality. It's not so much of an issue on longer
strings but on short strings like 'import' or 'edit' where the English source is
ambiguous as to whether it's a noun or a verb, this is a problem. You spend time
checking in the UI when you first translate to make sure you get it right, then
someone fixes and English typo and you have no idea if you're guessing right now
or not and you either guess or spend time checking again. Even worse with the
*** accelerators...

There goes another week of my 'spare' time fixing stuff that was already fixed.

Sory for the late reply.

Do you have our askbot translations(Turkish)? We had finished it but
now i see that transifex has an unfinished version there :(

I think I gave what we had in Pootle to Evgeny and he incorporated the
translations. I wouldn't be surprised about incompleteness though – just
like all products, Askbot is evolving, and strings are changing.

Hi :)
Nice!

I still think the 1st one was best though because the wrong letter
looked so right that it took me ages to spot it even when i knew i was
looking for an error and that there were only 2 words in it!
Congrats and regards from
Tom :)
