MIDB(中国,1,3) returns 中 (3 bytes constitute one and a half DBCS character; the last byte results in a space character). MIDB(中国,1,4) returns 中国 (4 bytes constitute two complete DBCS characters). MIDB(中国,2,1) returns (byte position 2 is not at the beginning of a character in a DBCS string; 1 space character is returned). MIDB(中国,2,2) returns (byte position 2 points to the last half of the first character in the DBCS string; the 2 bytes asked for therefore constitutes the last half of the first character and the first half of the second character in the string; 2 space characters are therefore returned). MIDB(中国,2,3) returns 国 (byte position 2 is not at the beginning of a character in a DBCS string; a space character is returned for byte position 2). MIDB(中国,3,1) returns (byte position 3 is at the beginning of a character in a DBCS string, but 1 byte is only half a DBCS character and a space character is therefore returned instead). MIDB(中国,3,2) returns 国 (byte position 3 is at the beginning of a character in a DBCS string, and 2 bytes constitute one DBCS character). MIDB(office,2,3) returns ffi (byte position 2 is at the beginning of a character in a non-DBCS string, and 3 bytes of a non-DBCS string constitute 3 characters). LEFTB(中国,1) returns (1 byte is only half a DBCS character and a space character is returned instead). LEFTB(中国,2) returns 中 (2 bytes constitute one complete DBCS character). LEFTB(中国,3) returns 中 (3 bytes constitute one DBCS character and a half; the last character returned is therefore a space character). Hello Michael I don't think its a Ubuntu issue. I was checking the languages available for the 4.4 version ( http://www.libreoffice.org/download/libreoffice-fresh/?lang=pick) and it doesn't show up there either nor on http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/pre-releases/ I am not quite sure what the problem might be. Hi :) I don't know the answer to this. Sorry you are not getting replies from anyone at the moment. There is a big event coming up soon and people are unusually busy preparing for that and other things. I think the way it works is that your translations appear with the next release of LibreOffice. Any translations that aren't done automatically show up in English instead of your language. As you complete more strings less and less shows up in English. So, you don't have to complete things before people start to benefit from your work. Hello Tom Thanks for your reply. The Guarani language was just added to Pootle a bit less than 3 months ago. I'm using Ubuntu and it won't find the l10n-gn language. I'm not sure if it has something to do with the PPA or simply just isn't available to download yet. Depends a little on how you want to tackle the rest. Do you want first to progress with the apparent UI of the application interfaces (folders sw, sd, sc and more) or do you first want to complete the setup (fx. folder desktop), then what's needed to open/save files, etc...? Here are the main folders I recall: sw: Writer sd: Draw/Impress sc: Calc cui/officecfg: configuration UI setup_native/readlicence/desktop: used during installation instsetoo_native: Windows MSI installation I don't think there is a completion limit before language-packs are issued, mainly because those are an indispensable tool for translators to see their work in action. Initially your lang-pack will be published along it's corresponding development version; install that to see your progress. But be aware that for some builds there's yet another language-pack called Key-ID (file extension .qtz); this gives you the en_US UI along with reference code for each item. The code is meant to help searching for the exact location of those items (where, in which .po-file).
