For me, the Similarity column is empty for the last 4 suggestions.
No similarity column for me at all. Not even in the language I have
access to.

The two first strings are ok, the first one being 100%

Can you point to a string where it shows up for you?
I seem to remember the "delete entry" shows up for inconsistent entries.

As an aside, the particular configuration of the LO Weblate hurts
quality badly.
Not having access to more languages or comments doesn't make the most
of translator time.

You can add more languages in your settings, or I didn't understand
what you mean.
That does work. Wouldn't have expected it to since I had to request
permission to change anything in the language I have.

At the time I think there was a policy of making suggestions first.
Most other instances leave everything open, or request to join anything.
I don't see a point in having to click and then being allowed to edit…?

Commenting isn't possible, making suggestions for the source language
isn't possible,

It is possible, I review numerous of them each month, see for example
comments here:
https://translations.documentfoundation.org/translate/libo_ui-master/cuimessages/en/?checksum=7838224e43a4e9ea

Not possible for me, but I only have 1500 translations on my account. I
can see the comments, but not make comments.

and the source code links are broken.

I clicked on Source string location of the same string
(https://git.libreoffice.org/core/+/master/cui/inc/tipoftheday.hrc#74)
in the String information area and it works for me, is it broken for
you? or could you give a link where it does not work?
From
https://translations.documentfoundation.org/translate/libo_help-master/textscalc01/bg/?checksum=6ea269b7376bb4cb

I clicked "Placement of source code file" (05120100.xhp
<https://git.libreoffice.org/help/+/master/source/auxiliary/05120100.xhp#0>)
and got
https://git.libreoffice.org/help/+/master/source/auxiliary/05120100.xhp#0
(There is no /05120100.xhp file)
Clicking "Translation file" (bg/helpcontent2/source/text/scalc/01.po
<https://git.libreoffice.org/help/+/master/source/auxiliary/bg/helpcontent2/source/text/scalc/01.po#1>)
I got
https://git.libreoffice.org/help/+/master/source/auxiliary/bg/helpcontent2/source/text/scalc/01.po#1
(There is no (/helpcontent folder).

As an example, the next string is
"The cell value is strictly less than the user defined value in the
text box in the right."
where it should be "user-defined" and "on the right". ("in the right"
means ~moral superiority vs. non-preferable alternative.

If the link to the source appears to be broken for you, an alternative
could be to open a bug and give the permalink to the string.

It doesn't say anything about bug-reports in
https://translations.documentfoundation.org/projects/libo_help-master/#information
where I would look for it.

Anyway. Latest Weblate version and new config would help greatly.
The new "teams" functionality allows setting up some users with access
to edit source strings.

Doing that through Gerrit/Git is a non-starter.

Bonus points: I made
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Design/Whiteboards/Discover_Weblate_image
for https://weblate.org/discover/ and sent an e-mail to the WL admin in
march of 2021.
I would delegate some responsibility away from just the one guy if the
entire product depends on things that aren't getting done.

Cheers
Sophie

I noticed two unusual things working with Weblate lately:
- There are sporadic 'Delete entry' buttons. Why do they appear only for

I assume you refer to the entries in the "Automatic Suggestion" area
from the weblate translation memory.

Weblate has a three-tier translation memory:
* the project's translation memory, that can also optionally create
all new entries into an
* instance-wide shared translation memory
* and finally a user-specific translation memory

So you'll see delete entry buttons for the strings coming from your
user translation memory, for strings that you translated in the past
within weblate.

I would very
much like to delete erroneous or obsolete entries but the button never
appears on any of them.

If you point me to those invalid entries, I can remove them.

- Sometimes there is no similarity percentage. This hampers productivity
noticeably because when I know that a string is a 100% match, I can just
click through, otherwise I have to copy and compare in an external

program.

Also please provide a link for that.

This link illustrates both:

https://translations.documentfoundation.org/translate/libo_help-master/textscalc01/bg/?q=state%3A

Those kind of links are not stable, what it points to is depending on
what you translate, better use the "copy permalink" option (the little
chain-link icon at the top-right of the translation area)

Looking at
https://translations.documentfoundation.org/translate/libo_help-master/textscalc01/bg/?checksum=6ea269b7376bb4cb
I see it has entries from weblate's translation memory as well as from
the amagama server, the tmserver entries. That contains old strings
from pootle, from the time before weblate was used. So old strings
from tmserver, new strings from weblate's translation memory.
And I guess weblate just doesn't return amagama's quality score
(Levenshtein distance), but all results returned by amagama have at
least a 75% confidence (from amaGama's POV), but that's just comparing
against the source string, so not sure whether it is suitable to also
show it

So, it isn't so busy now. What came and went?

There is no mention of "OpenOffice" and "MS Office", because who needs
those.

The angle is those are made for respectively Samsung, and users that
don't know
about LO. So what is there to know about LO now that we have the
attention of
people in schools, universities, etc. (Note that "Office suite" isn't
very sexy.

"Powerful" is some self-aggrandizing marketing wank that LO doesn't need.

The term "Open source" is junk. The OSI is a corporate entity irrelevant
to what libre software is.
It spent almost as long masquerading "free software", accomplishing just
about as little.
Neither fit the narrative. _Libre_Office, _Libre_ software.
As an added bonus, there is more of a chance translators use a word that
only means
"free as in freedom", as opposed to what in many languages means "the
source is open".
"Made for you" was halfway OK. "and free" is just selling out the
biggest benefit of LO,
for what is a shortcoming of the English language.

Consequently, when "made for you", what does "and free" really
communicate there?

"The freedom to share it with friends and family" was also not good.
That sounds like some
shareware nonsense.

If we want to say it is gratis, then
lets say so. I think that remains a secondary point to what is on the
board here.
There is some courage in that.

I hope nobody misses there being no all different colours that detract
from details in images.
There is also no dark green textfield in the middle that just draws
attention in all
sort of directions. If hope to never see individual fields with a green
background again.

Keeping it snimple snupple.

intended purpose of which is to make sure nothing happens to the file while
the lock is there to prevent it.

That being said, the valid variants should be "Lock file corrupted" or "The
lock file is corrupted".
"Lock file" is a poor choice of words, whereas one could argue it should
have been a compound word, it isn't in English.
If it has to be "Lock file", especially if it poses a problem where the
context it is in doesn't help, I think doing "Lock-file" is warranted,
making for
fewer errors in translation.

2) Padding as in valid CSS or similar. It isn't always a cell.

Re: [libreoffice-l10n] LibreOffice website - 5.4 New Features page - HTML for translation

Linking to the whole "how you can involve yourself here" is a bit strange.
Usually it is just the "here" bit that constitutes the actual link.
Also, "Asian language input methods" if to mean, typing asian languages,
does not roll off the tongue. They are however kept that way regardless.

YouTube link unchanged, don't know if a language code should be appended

Nye funksjoner for å høyne din
produktivitet

innstillingene dine for neste eksport-operasjon.

Perfekte
presentasjoner

I Impress, når du dupliserer et objekt, kan du nå oppgi vinkler i brøker.
I tillegg blir innstillingene dine lagret for neste dupliseringsoperasjon.

I tillegg
har et skrivebeskyttet modus blitt lagt til, sammen med støtte for
endringssporing,
innebygget kommentaropptegning og redigering, og innledende støtte for
Asiatiske
språkkinndatametoder.
