Re: [lace] lacemakers helper
While studying a lace book recently (which I am reluctant to mark with highlighter!) I reached for my handy-dandy Post-it arrows. This reminded me that I haven't seen mention of these little helpers on this thread! (Which, BTW, I am enjoying immensely!!) Initially, those arrows were invaluable to me in marking my place on the diagram while working the lace. These days, they're applied on top of the plastic Docu-Pocket which protects my diagrams. (Which means, incidentally, that the arrows don't remove bits of paper each time they're moved, and therefore last longer!!) This is important to me, because my very favorite arrows are those which are die-cut, one color, with no black line outlining the arrow. They are much easier to see through, and are easier to precisely place on the diagram. ALAS!! I haven't seen any of these gems for a long time in stores, and so I hoard my slowly diminishing supply. If anyone has spotted a ready source for these things, PLEASE let me know!! Re: [lace] lacemakers helper (arrows)
I hope I'm not being outrageous here. But... having sent off my note about the arrows, I was motivated to look for them on the internet. (Duh - should have thought of that first!) Well... didn't take long, but they're not Post-it notes!! They're Redi-Tabs!! Here's a link: http://www.officeworld.com/-/rtg32118 I've ordered a good supply, and can now use them with wild abandon!! Re: [lace] lacemakers helper - another budget pillow tote
Bev says: I like fabric totes with handles too, to hang on a sturdy coat-hanger in a closet. I have two straw-filled pillows which I love, but stored them during our move on edge, and one of them is now a very odd shape indeed - it probably needs more filling in it anyway or it could not have distorted the way it has. I have been bashing it with my rolling pin, and it seems to be responding but very slowly - but it is an excellent exercise if you need to work off some aggression! [lace] lacemakers helper - table mate
Hi everyone, highlight to those in Canada I have a lacemaker's table, put away - I prefer the TableMate II and the knockoff I bought at Field's for half the price. There is one in each room where I like to make lace :) One of them plus my pillow can be carried in my Ikea tote bag to a lace meeting, and I can adjust the table to suit whatever chair is available. The bag itself is a great helper, too - it is a sturdy, plain reinforced woven plastic bag meant to store car tires - inexpensive, model name Dimpa. Canadian Tire has a 'Tilt-a-Table' for $16.99 in their latest flyer, which looks a lot like the Table Mate. On until the 28th if anyone wants to investigate. -- Bev (in Shirley near Sooke, BC on beautiful Vancouver Island, west coast of Canada) - To unsubscribe send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] containing the line: unsubscribe lace [EMAIL PROTECTED] For help, write to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

They were a good size for cookie pillows. Robin P. Re: [lace] lacemakers helper - another budget pillow tote
Hi again Speaking of pillow storage - yes about the wreath boxes, they were advertised at Canadian Tire, too, just around Christmas then I missed the sale - I like fabric totes with handles too, to hang on a sturdy coat-hanger in a closet. The plastic wreath box, ideal for a complicated work in progress that needs to be put away and kept flat. Fields sells their store shopping bag for 99 cents. It opens wide and is roomy for 18-inch cookie pillows, a real bargain if one doesn't mind that the only colour choice is black and the store name in bold red (I look at it and think somehow it could be tweeked to read 'Laces' ). The handles are a generous length.
