Re: [lace-chat] ebay plans for craft projector

i'm sure anyone of the office supply stores will carry colored typing
paper and transparent colored clear vinyl, but i'll look at walmart,
office max, and a few other stores that might have it. i'll do a
search later and find out which stores have it. i found some of the
vinyl coverings you use heat to seal onto the paper, but they were so
expensive for just a few sheets it was cheaper to buy the clear contact
paper. the best stuff to use is the clear packaging tape. it is a
little tougher, and won't rip regardless of how many pins you put in
it. i really don't like the clear contact paper at all, but i did buy
a cheap brand.

 Morning, Susan,

A search of Yahoo doesn't show a CVS in Clarksville, but does list
 one in
Oakridge. I don't know how far that is from you. You might also try
Staples in Clarksville. Since colored vinyl is so hard to locate, I
 usually
just print onto colored paper, either with my printer or at Office
 Depot
(which is owned by Staples). I buy a ream of it, then take it with
 me when
I go up there to print.

thanks a lot for the product name. the closest thing to walgreens we
have i think would be a walmart, but there may be a walgreens somewhere
near and i just haven't seen it. it would make things a lot easier to
print in white and cover with the transparent vinyl.

Walgreens (and other places in USA) sells a removeable self-adhesive
 vinyl,
which I have found to work fine for covering patterns for the girls
 in my
bobbin lace class. It is less expensive than the blue vinyl sold for
lacemakers, but seems to work fine. It comes in clear, blue, pink,
 green
(and I vaguely recall purple which would be too dark). It is sold for

covering books - the brand name being Book Covers

i've heard of a cvs, so i'm positive we have one in clarksville. it
would be just as easy as buying the colored paper, but why when it is
easier to cover it with the colored vinyl.

here is a craft project to make that enlarges or projects an
object onto paper to draw or copy. this would be a great find if i
could use it to copy my bobbin lace patterns. i just recently had to
print mine on white paper because the printer wouldn't take contact
paper. i'm sure there is colored paper the same size as typing paper,
but i didn't have any at the time i needed it. this little gadget
would come in handy for those non-computer/printer days.

ebay item. called Plans Instructions.build an Opaque Projector
