Ah yes, that would make sense. I'm not sure what FreeBSD's ports system
uses to download source archives, but I would bet wget or something similar.

Count FreeBSD in. I'm using it and have never installed the ports,
always downloads via the web sites of fpc and lazarus.

Also anybody downloading using wget etc., since this can be more
resilient than a browser. This sort of thing usually won't return a user
agent string that looks like IE/Firefox by default, although it can
often be told to.

The Android download count, also in Top OSes, is also surprising. What,
do people download FPC from their mobile phones?

Maybe some Raspberry Pi or the like, those can be running Android.

Possibly downloading onto a 'phone or tablet because it's what's got the
Internet connection (3G or whatever) before transferring to a real computer.

No, there is only the SourceForge download count, but even that is on
enough because it doesn't take into account any SubVersion or Git repo
users, OS package installs (from Linux distros and FreeBSD) etc. There
simply isn't a way to accurately determine the number of active FPC or
Lazarus users. This is the general case for all open source software.
