[leaf-devel] LEAF Project
Hi Folks I just looked at leaf.sourceforge.net and was wondering Created on 2003-02-04 10:24:27 by install Updated on 2005-08-24 11:48:30 by mhnoyes Latest news: LEAF Bering-uClibc maintenance update 4.3.3 released Wouldn't we think that the release of 5.2.3 it worth a note? Should we not remove the links to Lince, Oxygen and WISP-Dist? Has there really not been anything worth a change of the web site since 2005? I believe we need to address this, else even the best software would go unnoticed. cheers ET -- Site24x7 APM Insight: Get Deep Visibility into Application Performance APM + Mobile APM + RUM: Monitor 3 App instances at just $35/Month Monitor end-to-end web transactions and take corrective actions now Troubleshoot faster and improve end-user experience. What about inviting him (again?) to join leaf-devel or leaf-user so we can discuss directly with him? AFAIK at least iso-images can be started and tested in VM's like qemu, xen and virtualbox. Tweaking images to do more than that, might be essentially an issue to provide a proper configdb.lrp I've also written a how-to (though admitted for a special use-case), which can be copied and used. I'm willing to help, but building "ready VM images" myself, beyond what we've accomplished, doesn't have a high-priority yet. Not to say, I simply do not understand what's missing. kp > >>> Also see >>> >>> https://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/leaf/index.php?title=Bering-uClibc_4.x_-_User_Guide_-_Advanced_Topics_-_Setting_Up_a_HTTP_Anti_Virus_Proxy >>> >>> where a virtualabox setup is documented to get an idea what is >>> needed/can be done. >> >> KP, >> Will do. >> >>> >>> Am 26.01.2013 17:24, schrieb Mike Noyes: Everyone, Here is an interesting idea from Mohan. Re: [leaf-devel] LEAF project
Hi. I use Virtualbox for testing purposes. It can easily mount CD image. So I doubt about special VM image. From other side, VM image can be easily created by script (create blank image and mount it as loop device, then - partition it, make it bootable and extract tarball on it's partition). 26.01.2013 18:24, Mike Noyes пишет: > Everyone, > Here is an interesting idea from Mohan. > > > Original Message > Subject: Message via your Google Profile: LEAF project > Date: Sat, 26 Jan 2013 16:20:57 + > From: Mohan Sundaram > To: mhno...@gmail.com > > > > I was talking to a couple of folks and recommending they use LEAF to do > some pentesting with a small footprint Linux distribution. Maybe the zoom is too big on the Wiki main page; I have just scaled it down a little. As a comparison I have updated the Wiki sidebar logo with just the graphic, which seems a little "bare" by comparison to the version with the text. We could add the LEAF text below the graphic, which would also make it roughly square. (Note that it is trivial to revert to the old Wiki sidebar logo, which is still there as the previous version of the sidebar logo file.) david -- Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond. Re: [leaf-devel] LEAF Project Logo - Time for an update?
Hi David, of course, I'm only speaking for myself - but I like the logo very much. Very generic and simple. To me, it brings across the idea of a framework nicely, and the "leaf" idea is very well incorporated as well. So speaking for myself, I'd be very happy with that logo for LEAF. [leaf-devel] LEAF Project Logo - Time for an update?
Hi all, I've added a Software Infobox to our Wikipedia page (https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/LEAF_Project). I was going to upload the LEAF Project Logo but Wikipedia asks *lots* of questions about Copyright for image uploads and I'm not clear about where our current logo came from and who owns the Copyright. The current logo also still says *Firewall* rather than *Framework*. For a while I've been thinking about commissioning a new Logo, so maybe now's the time. I'm thinking something easier to read when scaled down, and with more of a "LEAF" (of a tree) motif. Freelance logo designs seem to come in under $50 and I'd be willing to pay that myself. Thoughts? david -- Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond.
