A ridiculously bad goal from their point of view. Then a ball down the
middle , their sub keeper comes out and just seems to miss it leaving
Macca to roll it into an empty net. Then Becchio who came on for the
ineffective Forsell and slotted in a 3rd to win the game. Ipswich had
abandoned all defensive duties by then however Becchio took his goal
really well which surprised me because I thought he'd forgotten what
his feet were for. His first touch in open play though I can report has
not changed. He'll get picked again next match unfortunately.?

I was right behind the South Stand goal and Macca was able to score as the
Ipswich keeper hesitated when coming out, which gave Macca just enough time to
get to the ball first. If the keeper hadn't hesitated he'd have got there first.

It pains me to say this, but I thought we were much livelier after Becchio came
on. Maybe just a coincidence :-/ Like Rich says though he did take his goal
really well, best goal of the day, really the only proper goal scored all day
you might say.

What a moaning git I am but anyone who was there yesterday knows that
the atmosphere and the general feeling about the place is desperate and
 something has to give.?

The atmosphere was very subdued. The biggest cheer in the first half came when
one wild speculative shot from Ipswich ended up on the back row of the South
Stand. We did laugh.

I can only concur with the rest of the posters to this list that Saturday's
performance was an absolute bag of shite. I can't believe that we can play
that badly, win, and be one point off the playoffs. Is this league really that
shit?

I took my brothers to the match on Saturday as Christmas presents. Should have
stuck with socks.

Re: [LU] link to yesterdays goals

2012-01-23 Thread DAVID NATTAN
Alex . in my defence I did say in my original report that Becchio took his goal
well and believe it or not so did Rich W. Then in the email about the goals on
TV I did praise Snoddy for his skill (I did not notice the little drag back
live - other end to where I was) and praise Ross for his commitment.
Having said all that it is clear you were not at the game, since up until the
sending off which did not involve any Leeds player, we did not manage a single
shot on target, nor did we carve out a single chance We barely strung two
passes together and were deservedly losing to a team that we could all see was
very poor indeed.Add to that the awful atmosphere and that explains our
inability to see 'the good things'
I am still a Grayson fan and believe that our penchant for last minute winners
shows commitment and a team that is indeed playing for the manager. Having said
that the general malaise about the club is dragging everyone and everything
down.
I think people need to get themselves to ER to realise how bad things are
atmosphere /mood wiseAs I said on Saturday one down with 15mins to go and win 3
1 , it is the stuff dreams are made of and we should all have been buzzing but
we weren't

Apparently it's £750k up front, rising to £2m after add ons.
Hardly worth losing a couple of hunded ST holders over IMHO.

Re: [LU] January

2012-01-23 Thread Alec McQueen
Ah, but according to the List experts we are playing so badly it cannot
possibly last.

With every fluky win we are having a luckier and luckier season.

I happen to disagree. I think we have a manager who is doing a good job getting
results with below average resources.

Cheers
Alec

Re: [LU] Danny Pugh

2012-01-23 Thread Mark Humphries
Erm, Parker said pretty much what Grayson said didn’t he? What he missed out
was that Howson wasn’t going to sign any contract because he wanted to play in
the prem next season.

Apparently Bates accompanied Howson to Norwich and forced him to agree terms
and sign a contract there.

Kind of irrelevant really. Parker told the truth. He didn't want to go but Ken
wanted the money.

Re: [LU] January

2012-01-23 Thread Lee Jones
I think its a mixture of both. I think we have a manager who is doing
a good job getting results with below average resources, but we are
also being lucky at the same time I dont think we'd have had 7/9 were
it not for some good luck and some sendings off.
The luck wont last - the question is, do the points keep coming then?
