He could work in the PR office while he is suspended!! Looks like he has a

Agree with Dave though, 6 games seems harsh when you can get 3 for breaking
someone's leg and only 9 was it for racially abusing or biting someone like
Suarez

[LU] Newport

2018-01-08 Thread {broken-address} Philip

After last year at Sutton I thought we were done with all the crap. Then Monk
disrespected the fans who has made the trip and now TC has done exactly the
same. If Tottenham can play Harry Kane then I am sure that Leeds could have
fielded a strong team - and not the team that they did. TC said that against
Burnley he made 10 changes what he did not say that it was a mid week game and
not a game when they had a week to rest before the next game. If it has shown
us one thing it is that the like of Lasogga, Grot Chik and a few others should
not be even in same post code as a Leeds Untied shirt.

To start a game against some big lumps with no recognised centre-half is just
bad management to me.

Our two were a full back and a (converted ?) midfielder.

Hope the club give all those there a full refund.

Also.when ST renewals come out..insist that you will not renew
unless the club put it it writing that next year's
3rd round tie LUFC will field the first team.

I like the FA Cup.always have.and even though we are shit at it...I
want to have a good run in it.

Lasogga is a curious one. He did start well but then went downhill. He played
for Hamburg in the Bundesliga which is a far superior standard to the
Championship, but the last couple of games (though I disagree he is not trying
he seemed to be trying too hard yesterday) he looks poor.
Grot just looks bloody awful.

I have been getting a lot of stick today based on the performance / result
yesterday - as I told them all I am used to it - Histon, Sutton over the last
few years.

I think it is different from last year v Sutton when Monk , to try and prove a
point, picked a load of no-hope kids etc, TC has picked a team full of squad
players, albeit very few actual "first teamers"

TC has explained the selection stating that is is very much the same thinking
that got us 5 1 results v Newport & Port Vale and a winning draw v Burnley and
a decent performance at Leicester. There is some truth in this and if we had
won I think most fans would have been OK with it.

When I saw the team I was content with it - I did worry and in fact pointed out
on here- that the bench only had Saiz who could come on and change things if
the scoreline was going against us (I did not think Saiz would manage to not
touch the ball when he came on)

It is just how things are these days - the League is all important and all
teams in the top two Divisions load their team with squad players

We should have had enough quality to overcome 4th division opponents and enough
players should have been trying to impress and force their way into the first
team to have a high degree of commitment.

It all depends now on how we re-act - last time under Monk his plan backfired,
he was not given more money to strenghten the squad and the defeat seemed to
knock some of the stuffing out of the first team players,  even though they did
not play, and led a lot of fans to fall out with Monk

Hopefully the performance of Lassogga and Grot will mean that TC (and Orta)
change their minds about the need for another striker - Lassogga is lazy and
Grot needs to go out on loan or play for the u23s for a bit to see if there is
an actual player in there or not - he is nowhere near first team level at this
point.

It should confirm the decision to get rid of Brothwick Jackson if we can - and
bring in the Belgian left back. It also shows that Anita is not a left back -
he was given a torrid time from Nouble(sp)

I have no idea why Pennington did not play - Everton are out of the cup so
having him cup tied does not seem to be a problem.

It should stop fans asking why Klitch is not getting a game etc

For me, I was content when I saw the team and in my ideal scenario we would get
two or three up with goals from Lassogga and 2 from Grot (to get their
confidence up) and then Clarke could come on a get a 4th (laid on by Rey !) and
things would look great - this is far from what happened and with Saiz looking
at a 6 week ban we have a lot of problems

It is still much too soon to sack TC but it does increase the pressure on him,
and a win at Ipswich will assign yesterday to the history books - a defeat
there and a bad result v Millwall and the whole season will collapse

[LU] Saiz 6 game ban

2018-01-08 Thread nat...@sky.com
YEP saying that Saiz (subject to any appeal) has got a mandatory six match ban
for spitting
Now I find spitting at someone a disgusting an awful thing to do and I do not
want to appear to be condoning it in any way at all, but it does seem odd that
a red card for violent conduct -a punch, an elbow a leg breaking foul- gets a 3
game ban and spitting gets double that

TO those out there who say they would prefer to be punched than spat at I would
suggest you have never been punched !Yes spitting at someone is horrible and
nasty but generally a quick wipe of the face (or in this case his shirt) and it
is is sorted. A punch to the face and it could be a black eye or stitches and a
permanent scar etc
Whatever, the rules are there and I doubt we will appeal (there are stories
that Saiz was tripped as he went back to the centre circle and /or he was
elbowed and therefore the spit was retaliation) and I don't think we would win
an appeal
We now need two things - one Pablo to come to the party week in week out, and
two Saiz to learn from it
davePS it looks like the left back from Belgian is sorted (subject to medical)
and the Japanese lad will get a work permit, but is still, somewhat
surprisingly, going out on loan in Spain- to me if he can play in England he
shoud do so, either for us if good enough now, or on loan in a lower league

Being away from my home base - and actually in Leeds for the last five days for
a family bereavement - I have not had chance to keep up with the daily
Yorkshire weather forecasts, never mind how the Leeds team were travelling, but
now that I am back in my chosen place that I call home, I can only pass on
sincere gratitude and thanks to Dave Nattan for the excellent and totally
informed reports he provides us all via this list. If it wasn't for Dave's
selfless commentary, I would have to resort to tabloid reports.
Thanks Dave, please keep up the fantastic work that you do, for as long as you
feel inclined to do so; for as long as you can and; for as long as you still
have the passion for our club and email list. I salute you. Even if the
results lately are shit

When I saw the team I was content with it - I did worry and in fact pointed out
on here- that the bench only had Saiz who could come on and change things if
the scoreline was going against us (I did not think Saiz would manage to not
touch the ball when he came on) It is just how things are these days - the
League is all important and all teams in the top two Divisions load their team
with squad playersWe should have had enough quality to overcome 4th division
opponents and enough players should have been trying to impress and force their
way into the first team to have a high degree of commitment.
It all depends now on how we re-act - last time under Monk his plan backfired,
he was not given more money to strenghten the squad and the defeat seemed to
knock some of the stuffing out of the first team players, even though they did
not play, and led a lot of fans to fall out with Monk Hopefully the performance
of Lassogga and Grot will mean that TC (and Orta) change their minds about the
need for another striker - Lassogga is lazy and Grot needs to go out on loan or
play for the u23s for a bit to see if there is an actual player in there or not
- he is nowhere near first team level at this point.
It should confirm the decision to get rid of Brothwick Jackson if we can - and
bring in the Belgian left back. It also shows that Anita is not a left back -
he was given a torrid time from Nouble(sp)I have no idea why Pennington did not
play - Everton are out of the cup so having him cup tied does not seem to be a
problem.
It should stop fans asking why Klitch is not getting a game etc For me, I was
content when I saw the team and in my ideal scenario we would get two or three
up with goals from Lassogga and 2 from Grot (to get their confidence up) and
then Clarke could come on a get a 4th (laid on by Rey !) and things would look
great - this is far from what happened and with Saiz looking at a 6 week ban we
have a lot of problems It is still much too soon to sack TC but it does
increase the pressure on him, and a win at Ipswich will assign yesterday to the
history books - a defeat there and a bad result v Millwall and the whole season
will collapse Dave

I am ashamed of Leeds United today - and that's strong words. Is that TC's
undiplomatic way of saying were not interested in the FA Cup? Perhaps he was
pleased in some demented way with how it all panned out and today's result is a
secret success in his book although he'd never admit it. Our passing was awful
and embarrassing and we couldn't contain Newport. I saw this result coming a
mile away but not the way it happened. All our supporters making the trip and
paying their money - what an insult to them, our club and the competition
itself. I'm waiting for an apology TC - why have you kept so quiet after the
game? Have you no thoughts, opinions or comments?
At least the likes of Villa went out to lower league competition with some
style and grace and looked like they were bothered.

As already mentioned, if we scrape the play offs all this will be forgotten and
forgivenonly to a point,

[LU] Newport again

WowMinutes after posting my post match thoughts i clicked on the Square Ball
and read what Moscow White had written - he could sue me for plagerism so many
of our points are the same if not for the fact that my pc will show I posted to
the list BEFORE I read it
I think we are 99% in agreement - our only divergence in opinion is Klitch whom
he gives more credit to than I did

Grot and Lasogga truly awful - who brought them in? Ahem! Fine move bringing
on Saiz TC whose only contribution was to get sent off for spitting ( I
read) Did he touch the ball? Now a 3 match ban for a proven game changer.
