Oh man! RIP Dave. A man who lived life to the full - a true inspiration. So
many hilarious stories from his travels. Never let the Lards down. I
remember him jumping off his bike and straight on the pitch in 'dam ;-)

Very sad to hear this. A name I know well from the list. Not sure that I ever
met him - I did once go to watch the Lards at Hinckley Town and chatted with a
few listers, though never actually managed to get names (I seem to remember
chatting to the Princesses of Tonga for a while).
RIP mate, if I may call you that - we’re all mates here, aren’t we?

Sad to hear this. I met Dave many years ago at World Net. I can't remember if I

wondering how it would affect him walking considering the amount of work your

The LeedsList has lost a great stalwart in Dave Dowden. Made an absolute
legend of himself at Worldnet when my brother Jim and I attended way back
in... was it 1999 ... in Adel? Apart from his antics, he also formed part of
the backbone of this list, which still goes strong to this day.

Take care brothers and sisters as we pay our last respects to Dave, and we wish
him a speedy and now painless journey to Listers' Paradise.

Dear all,

Quite a few of you will know that lister and member of the Leeds Lards worldnet
team, Dave 'Lido' Dowden has been ill with cancer this past two years. His
illness finally got the better of him late on Sunday night. He was at home with
his family having turned what was a six month assessment into two very full
years.

That's exactly what I was (less well done as yourself) trying to say with my

albeit virtually. It is therefore still just as sad and upsetting if one of
that group passes away., as it is in real life. RIP Dave from all your friends

As I’m in digest land I have only just learned of the sad loss of Dave.

I remember many of the stories and remember Dave himself from list meets

He was someone who helped to make those events special to me and many
others.

So sorry to hear this.

Such sad news John. Knowing Dave’s diagnosis since you told me, seeing him
zipping around on his bike, camping, climbing hills and generally ‘cracking on’
was genuinely inspirational.

A lovely bloke and always ready with a tale - commiserations to all of you who
knew him much better than me, and deepest sympathy to his friends and family.
RIP Dave

Re: [LU] Dave Dowden.

2023-01-09 Thread Steve Gillen
I am shocked and deeply saddened to hear of the loss to the list, Leeds United
and, most importantly, his family, Dave Dowden. I did not know Dave personally
and to my mind we never met, knowingly. I suspect we may well have met on one
or other Lards outings at the Worldnet tournament latterly held in Adel.

My deepest sympathies I extend to his family and hope they might find a little
comfort in the fact that his real and virtual friends will likewise miss him
and honour his memory.

RIP Dave. The list remembers you.
