Re: [LegacyUG] Find - Modified Date
That is very tricky – I had assumed it might be along the bottom status bar, but glad to know now about the mouse-over and even better, the click on that white square! That is very handy information. Thank you, Denise. (Click on the small box that appears when your mouse cursor hovers over that area.) The Last Modified window shows a grid displaying the date and time when the Husband, Wife and Marriage records were added and last modified, along with a field showing if the records originated from an import. On any input or edit screen, clicking Save updates the Modified Date entry even if no change has been made to the information. To avoid this update if no change has been made to the information, use Close or Cancel to exit the window. Note: If you change marriage information for a couple, the modified dates for the marriage and for each of the individuals is updated.” From: LegacyUserGroup [mailto:legacyusergroup-boun...@legacyusers.com] On Behalf Of Ian Thomas Sent: Monday, July 31, 2017 7:07 PM To: Legacy User Group > Subject: [LegacyUG] Find - Modified Date The facility to create a list of individuals which I have Modified (edited) on or after a particular date is very useful – even though I don’t often use Legacy FT on more than the one computer. But where can I see the Modified Date / Last edited date for a particular individual? Re: [LegacyUG] Problem opening, backing up Legacy file
Brian, Thank you for the suggestion. I did find several files "locked by Microsoft Access" that I was unable to delete, receiving the message that they were currently in use by Legacy Genealogy Software for Windows. Each file seemed to be created when I closed Legacy. I can only believe that I inadvertantly left some search open when I exited several days ago. Re: [LegacyUG] Problem opening, backing up Legacy file
Look for a filename.ldb (filename is the name you use for your family file) file in the folder where your family file is located. Delete that file if you find it, it is a file created when the family file is opened to warn that the file is in use and may be left behind if you have a computer crash of if Legacy crashes. It may also be left behind by the Hints, LFS and Legacy Charting modules. Brian Kelly On 31-Jul-17 3:01 PM, Carolyn Smith wrote: I hope some of you can help me with this problem. Basic editing and navigating is OK but there are several features that will not work correctly if more than one user is in the file. For example if one user is clearing all tagged individuals and another is tagging individuals then the two operations will conflict with each other without notice to you." I have searched for any open searches and have no problems using Legacy for data entry. When I attempt to back-up my file to close, I receive the following message: "The requested file operation cannot be performed because it appears that the family file is being used by another program. Close any other programs like Legacy Charting or other Ad-on programs that are using this family file and then click the OK button to continue or click Cancel to stop the requested operation." Thus I have not been able to back up any of my recent work. I checked my Temp Folder and found 2 files: ~DF5F4707676928CCCF.TMP and ~DF671D923BBE0BF894.TMP, relating to Legacy, which I cannot delete since they are "currently being used." Any help with this very frustrating issue would be greatfully received!!
