I am just back to my master PC, the other was on my laptop, and still
running at v339. This works with my looking at my fathers hints with
no problem. Looked at my cousins hints, with a hint searched record
that was quite old, probably from 2019. That gets this error the first
time, looking for it from the index

{"statusCode":400,"error":"Bad Request","message":"Invalid cookie

Switched to the individual view and tried from there, and got the
Loading Hints... display. Looking at the http request, they are both
the same except that the erroring one does not have the last field for
_k=

Looked at the hint record and it was old. Checked the Hints processing
monitor and it showed a few waiting requests. Waited for these to
clear. The hints flag disappeared from her record and then reappeared
a couple of minutes later, with a current last searched date. This one
does work, but note that the first field, which I assume is the
individual, has changed.

https://www.findmypast.com/hints-ui/#/list/4fd010f1-807d-44c1-9ff6-f02d0e590dce?partnerId=.&_k=dqpuzw

I assume that the partnerid identifies either me or you.

So, I think that there is a problem with old Hints records which have
not been researched recently and might contain out of date information.

[LegacyUG] Add Event/Fact

2015-04-30 Thread Gillian Häkli
Is there any way I can get back or find somewhere the original list of
predefined event names and facts? Over the years I’ve added events and facts to
various people in my own way. As a result, the list is getting out of hand. I
want to tidy things up, which means starting all over again for most of the
people. I’ve already deleted a lot of my invented facts and events and am
perfectly happy to delete the lot. Only, first, I’d like the original list.

Many thanks Everyone, including Robert57p, for all your help. I'll probably
get along fine this time by keeping the Master Event Definition List open

Gillian,

There is also another way to do this. Legacy starts with a few built-in
lists. These include common Source Types, Event Definitions, Marriage
Statuses, Child Statuses, To-Do Categories, and Temple Names. To restore
master lists to their original contents:

1. Click on File File Maintenance List Cleanup.

2. The first screen you will advise yo to backup. Click the Proceed button.

3. The next screen is the main Master Lists Cleanup screen.

4. Under Keep/Restore Original Values for select Event Definitions by
clicking on its checkbox.

5. Click the Proceed button and confirm with Yes that you want to reset the
Event Sentences you their default wording.

6. When finished click the OK button.

[LegacyUG] Letter case of surnames

2015-04-27 Thread Gillian Häkli
Hi list,

I downloaded Legacy deluxe 8 version 8.0.0.473 for a second time to replace a
corrupted file. Everything’s fine except it refuses to remember that I really
do want the letter case of surnames to be upper case. I ticked upper case in
both 3.3 Letter Case of Surnames and 3.4 Displaying Surnames
(Options/Customise) and clicked Save, but the next time I go into Legacy, I get
the same little red ball (Potential Problem) against all the surnames telling
me they’re in Upper Case. Well, of course they are, because that’s how I want
them. Please, can someone tell me how to get rid of the red ball.
