Re: [LegacyUG] Combining two files

2014-03-02 Thread J.M. Jay Ingalls
Pat,

Works best for me to use the split screen view, pedigree view, and find
someone who is in both files, if possible. Drag and drop from the same
person in the left file to the one on the right. Review ALL the options
for merging to make sure you get everything.

Do not stop the merging procedure before it is completed!

Then do file Maintenance as soon as you have completed the merging.

Jay

Re: [LegacyUG] Combining two files

2014-02-28 Thread Sherry/Support
What you first need to do is import one file into the other by going
to File Import. *Then* you merge the duplicates. Before
importing, back up the file you're importing into (File Backup File)

So look up Import first, then Merge (I can't give you specifics
right now since I'm doing an update)

Sherry
