Use the text box Create Web Pages /Links tab and add html code...

«center»YOUR FOOTER HERE«/center»

Note: Special HTML codes «center» «center» NOT <> <>

There is a lot you can do with HTML in the text in Legacy.

Sorry, I misspoke - I'm using Legacy 8 which still includes the creation

I'm still using Legacy 6, and the footer is exactly what you want. So yet
another nice feature lost or mislaid in the upgrades.
Sorry, I don't know how to alter it in Settings, haven't looked at them in
years. I'd ask the Programmers to put it back! And meantime, a global
search and replace will put things right.

[LegacyUG] Create Web Pages

2018-08-04 Thread Bryan
I've been doing these for a while.
There's a line automatically generated by Legacy at the bottom of each page:
"This Web Site was Created on [todays date] with Legacy 9.0
[https://legacyfamilytree.com/] from Millennia [https://legacyfamilytree.com/];
But I can't find from where it's generated so I can edit it.
I want it to read "This Web Site was Created in July 2008 and updated on
[todays date] with Legacy 9.0 [https://legacyfamilytree.com/] from Millennia
[https://legacyfamilytree.com/];
I can put similar into the text box Create Web Pages /Links tab/ (Check)
"Include a custom html footer..."  But it's placed left on the page and looks
clumsy.
The generated one is neat. I know I can edit and replace later but it's rather
tedious.
So can any one enlighten me as to where it can be found on the Create Web Pages
menu?
Thanks

[LegacyUG] Create Web Pages question

No, you didn't. You have to have a place to post it online (your own web
page). As I recall, you would have an option to save it to your hard drive
somewhere and then you could upload that to your web page. I did exactly
what you are doing a really long time ago so I don't remember specifics but
I thought I'd reply really quickly to let you know your tree is NOT online

Hi Liz,

Until such time as you upload those web pages to a web site somewhere,
they're not online and only you can see them.

Take another look at one of the pages in your web browser - see the URL
in the address bar? I'm guessing it says something like:

file:///c:/username/

That is pointing to a file on your hard drive.

An online web page would start something like:

http://www.

Hope this helps to put your mind at rest. :-)

Wendy and Kathy are right, your documents didn't go anywhere. I produce
them for my own webpages but also as an easy way to see errors,
especially for those that are marked as living. You can have your
webpage open in your browser and go back and forth with Legacy to make
the adjustments. You might also see other things that are not always
apparent in the program such as marriages out of order.

[LegacyUG] Create web pages

2011-03-05 Thread Jan Roberts
I created a couple of Descendant web pages in Legacy - but I notice that the
only events which are being displayed are for spouses - despite selecting
Individual Events and Events for Marriage. For instance my own entry has
events but they don't show; my first husband has events - they show; my
second husband has events - they don't show; both marriages have events -
they don't show. Anyone else notice this?
And I solved my previous problem about source details not showing and was
there a way to globally change the setting - the answer is yes, with the
reset button on the options menu sources tab. Thanks Dennis for helping
there.

Cheers
Jan

You must put Legacy in the c:\Legacy folder on a Windows Vista or
Windows 7 computer. Those versions of Windows don't allow files to be
saved to the program folders in c:\Program Files and anything you try
to save there is redirected by Windows to Virtual Store for security

You can save the files outside the Legacy folder, but you could still

We strongly suggest that you install it to the default c:\Legacy

I could not find the pages when I looked for them, I had just left the settings

I will try again storing in a more accessible location, Windows 7 can get very
