No.
If you want lots of data in a logical order use a Book Report.

I have tagged direct line families with a 1 and all families with a 2.

Is there any wan when I run the family Reports that they line up (page
numbered)

in alphabetic order by the husbands’ surnames?

I can’t see any rhyme or pattern to how they are ordered now.

When you select the Family Report, there is a box in the bohe bottom center
that says "Report Options". Select this

The report options box will open. The 2nd tab from the left is a FORMAT tab.
Select this

On the right side, you will find a box for "Page Setup" Select this

The Page Setup box will open. Here you can adjust the default margins

The center tab is for the "Heading and Page Numbering" Select this

At the bottom of the page that opens is the Page Numbering Position selections
area. You can select TOP or BOTTOM, Left or Right or Center.

Hope this helps

Is there anyway to change the location of the page number for Family Group
Reports?

The page numbers are showing as Page 1, etc. in the upper right corner of the
report

but the body of the report obscures 99% of the page number.

Or is there some way to change

the margins of the report so the number shows at its current location?

Re: [LegacyUG] Family Group Reports

2020-02-21 Thread Brian Kelly
I think when you print a group of FGRs they cannot be ordered by
generation using a focus group or tagged list.

There is a way using the Publication Centre, add individual FGRs and set
each one to the couple needed so the couples are in the order you want.
ie. FGR 1 is yourself, 2 is your parents, 3 your grandparents etc. until
you reach your 6th Great Grandfather.

Unfortunately I did not see the Relationship Chart report in the list of
reports you can include via the Publication Centre so you cannot
integrate the relationship chart between you and your 6th great
grandfather in the book.

For the Relationship Chart you will have to create that separately (you
could reserve a place for it using the placeholder in the Pub Centre)
but you would have to manually insert that after printing the book to paper.

Alternatively you can print the relationship chart to a PDF as well as
the pub centre book then send the pub centre book PDF and the
relationship chart PDF as two separate files.

I want to send someone a fairly detailed and fully sourced Report
showing one particular line from me to a 6th Great Grandfather.  I have
decided that the best way to do this is to produce a Family Group Report
for each pair of ancestors in the line, with a Relationship Chart for
quick reference.

I have tagged the Marriage of each couple with Tag 5 and then created a
Focus Group by selecting all Marriages tagged 5.  Ny selecting this
Focus Group as the record selection criterion for a Family Group Report,
I can print out the required 6 FGRs.  However, they print in ascending
order of MRIN, whereas I would like to be able to print them in
"grandparent order" (6th Great, 5th Great, 4th Great etc) and have the
page numbering run from 1 to 35 as the Source Citations will be Endnotes
at the end of the complete Report.

Is it possible to select a group of families *in a prescribed order*
when selecting records for a set of FGRs?

Open the Family Group Report and click the RESET button in the bottom right

My family group reports after the first child have some of the subsequent
children's names overprinting the events of the previous child. Is it me or the
program? I have the latest 516 update of Legacy 8 and windows 10.

Thanks Sue Anderson

Did you select the option for Event Notes when you set up the Family

They appear when I run a FG Report.
