[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118755] New: Save as template does not overwrite as required

2018-07-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118755

Bug ID: 118755
Summary: Save as template does not overwrite as required
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master
  Hardware: All
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: rob...@iafrica.com

Description:
I have a default template. It is wrong. I fix it I use the Save as template
dialog to overwrite it. LO Writer saves it to a new name.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open writer - wrong template (e.g. 0Doc.ott)
2. fix template
3. save as template

Actual Results:
has created a new template 0Doc1.ott

Expected Results:
it should have overwritten 0Doc.ott
If this is a safety feature, then it should rather rename the original (wrong)
template. However, that would be inconsistent with the way Calc and Impress
work.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

dangerous stuff, as evidenced by the fact that the offending patch reverted a
couple of other patches, and affects both doc and docx. As a reminder to myself
when I eventually look at this - the referenced doc fixes have no relevance for
this docx bug, so start debugging from scratch.

Re: GSoC weekly update : Add Support for Python in LOEclipse Plugin - Shobhan Mandal

2018-07-13 Thread Shobhan Mandal
Hello Everyone,

In this git commit, I have enabled the idl file creation which ultimately
leads to the creation of the "types.rdb" file which provides specific type
of interface to LibreOffice.
https://github.com/LibreOffice/loeclipse/pull/68/commits/37cd0ed7b935abfde402d2468fea290f982d2b7f

It was also found that if there is any "_" in the project name then the
Impl.java file is not created if projects are created using
Java language during New Extension Project creation, so that has also been
handled.

Thanks and Regards,
Shobhan.

** Please read this message in its entirety before responding **

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open, confirmed
bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked on this
bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has been fixed, or the
details of the problem have changed. We'd really appreciate your help in
getting confirmation that the bug is still present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of LibreOffice
from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
http://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:

Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)

meaning that is not

My results were a bit different. The docx. does have the vertical line.
However, the .odt file has a vertical line that is light gray, sort of a
disabled look. I have attached a screenshot of this when tested in 6.2;
however, it occurred in both of the following builds.

Actual file that caused me problems

The name of the file is the final name which worked. The name that failed is
documented in my original posting. This is also the file that hung LibreOffice
for over half an hour before I force quit and restarted the recovery which
worked the second time.

I feel really silly. I have only used templates when there was a large number
of 'identical' data sets to play with. I never thought to use a blank one with
the options I use all the time.

Thanks for the suggestion.

These names come directly from Excel and where selected to make the behavior
more consistent with the Excel UI, see e.g.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118754] New: Inappropriate Default File Paths Imposed in Custom Installations

2018-07-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118754

Bug ID: 118754
Summary: Inappropriate Default File Paths Imposed in Custom
Installations
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.5.2 release
  Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Installation
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: cep...@gmail.com

Description:
If I tell LibreOffice during setup that I want everything in a specific path,
EVERYTHING should go there... or, at minimum, there should be specific ability
to point things. For example, in Windows, if I state I want LibreOffice to
install to c:\libreoffice, the installation program SHOULD NOT blithely:

* install a bunch of critical files, such as dictionaries, to c:\program
files\libreoffice... especially since GETTING AWAY FROM the moronic "program
files" | "program files (x86)" nightmare is part of why I want a custom path!

* install PERSISTENT DATA FILES (such as templates, autocorrect, etc.) to any
part of the (equally moronic) c:\user pathway... especially to "roaming"!

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start installation from the .msi file and designate a non-default location
for the installation
2. Open LibreOffice, select Tools | Options | Paths
3. Mutter and swear because the selected installation path was not respected

Actual Results:
See above; this is NOT version-specific and has been a problem for years. It
just finally became more than an annoyance.

Expected Results:
If I tell a program "Install to Path X," ALL of its critical components should
install to Path X and subfolders thereof -- ESPECIALLY nonexecutable files like
dictionaries and templates that are program-unique.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
This is a persistent problem that I have encountered in both
pre-OpenOffice-fork versions and every installation I've done of LibreOffice.
I'm irritated now because it just broke a customized dictionary by reverting to
a default location without telling me a couple of versions ago, meaning that
I've lost over a year's worth of customizations.

This clearly results from the installation program assuming that each and every
computer has multiple users and that individual user settings will vary
significantly. Some of us, who actually care about security, don't do that sort
of thing (and where we have multiple users, we demand that everything except
the user identity be uniform). We should at least be allowed control over it,
especially when we TOLD we're being granted control with the option to "choose"
an installation pathway.

AT MINIMUM, the customization-of-location options should be more explicit on
what is actually being customized.

Branded images for msi installer

The sizes are 122 x 234, 374 x 44 installed units respectively, according to

http://msdn.microsoft.com/de-de/library/windows/desktop/aa369490%28v=vs.85%29.aspx

it is 163x312, 499x58 pixels at 96 dpi. I bumped dpi to 120 and it still
looks pixelated,
but it's as good as it gets.

For better results, we need different graphics, with less fine details
given the very limited
space

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118753] New: Saving a 2-column table with "set outer border only" in .docx results in a appearance of a vertical line between columns.

2018-07-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118753

Bug ID: 118753
Summary: Saving a 2-column table with "set outer border only"
in .docx results in a appearance of a vertical line
between columns.
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 6.0.5.2 release
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
  Reporter: ha...@aol.com

Created attachment 143542
  --> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=143542=edit
The two-column table in .odt (with some stuff before and after the table)

1. Create a 2-column table with one row.
2. Set outer border only.
3. Fill something in.
4. Save as .odt
5. Save as .docx.
6. Reopen the two files. The .odt reopens correctly, while the .docx reopens
with an extra (unneeded) vertical line -- column divider.

having two private emergencies here ;)
However, still apologies for being late

For Icons Tango only, Dutch ánd English (so not a local problem)
confirming what Henk reports in
 Versie: 6.1.0.1
 Build ID: 378e26bd4f22a135cef5fa17afd5d4171d8da21a
 CPU-threads: 4; Besturingssysteem: Linux 4.15; UI-render: standaard; VCL:

Locale: nl-NL (nl_NL.UTF-8); Calc: group threaded

and in
 Versie: 5.4.6.2

 CPU-threads: 4; Besturingssysteem:Linux 4.15; UI-render: standaard; VCL: gtk2;
 Locale: nl-NL (nl_NL.UTF-8); Calc: group

However, Henk, since 5.7 is the last one in the series, I would suggest to
leave it there as is, and only try to fix against 6.0 and 6.1 and master.
Hope you can agree with that :)

thanks for reporting!

2018-07-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon

As Field link to an function like page field, ... I tend to have Field in
Reference. In addition, the section reference didn't have that much items.

But in tabbed toolbar and in MSO the field items are in Insert tab, so it would
be better to have the items in the same group.

I will keep the bug report open and when I review the different NB's I will
find a solution.

Thanks for reporting this issue.

Thank you Telesto !
I tried doing such tricks. But unfortunately the pages then had some other
size. Therefore the page break changed. I could not use this.

unfortunately I did not have this luck. Even with the original document the
problem was not there all the time. Sometimes it came.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 118469] problems with unwanted and unnecessary automatic table split

2018-07-13 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=118469

(In reply to Dr. Matthias Weisser from comment #6)
> "Please attach a sample document, as this makes it easier for us to verify
> the bug. (Please note that the attachment will be public, remove any
> sensitive information before attaching it.)"

-
Make a copy of the problematic file and replacing everything with "x":

The basic plan is to replace all characters with a "x". We can (try to) do this
with "Find & Replace".

Edit ▸ Find & Replace (Ctrl+H)

In the Search for field put "." (a single period)
In the Replace with field put "x"
Make sure Whole words only is unchecked
Click Other Options to expand the dialog, and make sure Regular expressions is
checked.
Click Replace All
Now you have a document containing lots of "x"s. With luck, the bug still will
be reproducible with that document.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 104354] FILEOPEN DOCX: Paragraph spacing "auto" is imported as 0.49 cm

@Gábor: I have attached the DOCX version of the second test file. I suggest to
file a new issue for the original DOC.

The suggested fix for this DOCX and for similar table importing problems:

https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/#/c/57352/

Description:

Top margin of first paragraph of a table cell with auto spacing, and bottom
margin of last paragraph of a table cell with auto spacing are zero (except in
numbered last paragraphs), but LibreOffice set 14pt instead of them, resulting
much longer tables. Following cases needed special handling:

- auto spacing in style
- direct top and bottom auto spacing
- direct top and bottom margins
- footnotes in cell paragraphs

Windows 32-bit build failure: unreachable code

I clearly understand this wish !

Unfortunately those are my own books that I need to earn money with. Therefore
I am unable posting the content here.

Unfortunately I have not been able yet producing a test file where this always
is possible to show. May be someone else is able doing so?
