Summary: TABLES, Problem on adjust selected Row or Column to
equal space
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.0 RC2
  Platform: x86-64 (AMD64)

Illustration of what I meani

Problem on adjust selected Row or Column to equal space:

On previous version (3.4 3.3) I can adjust selected row or column to equal
space without a problem, but on version 3.5 ( I use 3.5 RC.2 ) I have found
problems as follow :

On ROW :
when I choose row, space equally on selected rows, rows turns into the same
height, with a height corresponding to the height of the highest rows in the
selected row
ie selected rows with a height of 1 cm, 1.3 cm and 1.5 cm, the end result is a
rows with a height of 1.5 cm, height is supposed to be 1.27 cm

On COLUMN :
When I choose column, space equally on selected columns, the entire column in
the table turns into the same width, should only the selected columns changed
into the same width

For people having this same issue, you can enable Flat ODF in your LibreOffice
installation by rerunning setup and modifying the installation to include:

Sample XSLT Filters

So:

setup.exe - Modify - Optional Components - XSLT Sample Filters

Should get you the required filters for using Flat ODF files on Windows.

The above configuration should no doubt become the default on Windows !

--- Comment #1 from Lionel Elie Mamane lio...@mamane.lu 2012-02-02 02:50:24
PST ---
The whole type handling system of PostgreSQL-SDBC is a mess and needs serious
love.

Preliminary analysis: most unknown types are mapped to memo. From the
described symptoms, the wizard seems to take the first alphabetical in the list
of ones mapped to memo and this happens to be [ _abstime ] (an array type).

My first guess is that the PostgreSQL type text is the best match. However,
it is mapped to what the LibreOffice UI calls Text, which I understand is
supposed to be SQL VARCHAR and similar. (There is a separate Text (fix) for
SQL CHAR.)

Note: when testing, make sure to close the wizard between tests; when going
back and forth between step 1 and 2, the wizard keeps changes you made in step
2, even if you remove and readd a field in step 1. This may make that bug seem
like a Heisenbug.

Setting low priority as I'm going to focus on data manipulation issues before
data definition issues. (data definition can conceivably be done with SQL
statements rather than GUI and/or separate PostgreSQL-specific GUI).

If this causes an actual data manipulation issue, this will raise the priority.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 45532] New: If not updated, external links to cells with no value show #REF!, if no linked cell to that sheet has a value

2012-02-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45532

 Bug #: 45532
Summary: If not updated, external links to cells with no value
show #REF!, if no linked cell to that sheet has a
value
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.0 RC2
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: devsepp...@gmail.com

Cacl document to show the refecence error problem

If not updated, external links to cells with no value show reference error
(#REF!), if no linked shell on that sheet has a value. If there is even one
link to cell on the sheet that has a value, all the other links show correctly,
even if there is no value in the linked cell.

This bug is really annoying and was really hard to track down because of the
special condition required to trigger it. I have tested that this bug exists on
both 3.4.5 and and 3.5.0 (RC1+RC2) version. I think it was introduced when the
handling of external links was massively re-worked in the LO 3.4 version.

To clarify the problem I will attach two files: LinkFile.ods and
TargetFile.ods, please save them both to same folder.

1.
Open the LinkFile.ods, but DO NOT UPDATE LINKS to see the #REF error in cell B8
on sheet1.
2.
Then close and open the document again, but this time update the links.
The #REF! error should be replaced by value 0 .
3.
Then save, close and open the document again, but do not update links.
The #REF! error should be mysteriously back again.
4.
Then close and open the document again, but this time update the links.
The #REF! error should be once again replaced by value 0 .
Then insert a link from this sheets cell B11 to a TargetFile.ods sheet2 cell
B11,
then save and close the document.
5.
Open the document once again without updating the links.
Now there should be no #REF! error, even when not updating the links.

There are Screenshots of how it looks like and the SPSS-Output-File.

Problem description:

I have problems pasting tables from an SPSS Output Document. SPSS is a software
for statisical analysis, commonly used in social sciences.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Copy a Table in SPSS (in my case it was a frequencys-table, but that is not
important. The Paste fails also with every different table). SPSS makes that an
RTF-Export to the clipboard [Ctrl+C].

2. Paste it in Libre-Office Writer [Ctrl+V]

Current behavior:

The pasted table looks crappy. It not a pasted table at all. The Pasted
contend is a table and some text below it. It is really hard to repair.

If i paste it to M$ Word (where it works fine), copy it in Word again and paste
it to LibreOffice than i have a lousy formatted table with VERY thick frames.
Therefore i assume, that there is a general problem with pasting RTF-Tables.

I attached a ZIP-file with screenshots of how it looks like and the
SPSS-output-file. As far as i know it is possible to open the Outputfiles in
SPSS and copy content out of it without having a valid licence.

If a developer has further questions, feel free to send me a private mail. My
German is better than my Englisch ;)

Expected behavior:

Should look like the source. Or at least look like in OpenOffice. Or even
better look like in M$ Word. In M$ Word it looks like the source.

Platform (if different from the browser):
Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 Bit, LibreOffice with standard install options.
IBM SPSS version 20. The Bug also appears with content wich is copied with
older SPSS-Versions.

Hi

Please see the attached document, which when opened in Writer does not format
correctly to how it looks in MS Word.

This is just an example, we have had other issues where we receive some
documents with a lot of formatting, and picutres on. They don't seem to
display correctly at all.

We are slowly moving machines from MS Office to LO, but one of our concers is
conversion between formatts which we still do receive a lot of in MS Type which
need to be as accurate as possible.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 45536] New: FORMATTING, crashing causes pictures to change size in .doc file

2012-02-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Small doc file with a picture

You are writing a document saved to .doc format that contains inserted pictures
(see minimal example attached).

The picture is displayed with size 10 x 6.67 cm.

Writer crashes for whatever reason (simulated here by using kill -9). When the
document opens again, and is recovered, the picture has size 10.05 x 6.72 cm.

This error is not consistent, it doesn't happen every time a crash occurs,
although it seems more likely to happen with a larger complex document with
many pictures, bookmark-based bibliography, etc.

The error can compound itself, i.e. if several crashes occur, at each crash the
picture changes size a bit more.

Best regards,

Ramon.

This will only affect the current word, and they will have to use the
 drop-down for every single word.
To select language for part of text:
select this part of text
do in menu Format-Character
in dialog Character select first tab and in field Language change language

sometimes this my done using styles more quick

 It
should also automatically identify what language the user is typing in and
automatically change the spell check to that language.
This functionality was in previous versions of OpenOffice, but developers
decided that it is not useful and deleted. This was useful functionality.

ReportedBy: j...@gmx.de

Problem description: The Writer show additional toolbars depending on the
context of the text cursor, e.g. additional buttons when the cursor is in an
ordered list. The additional screen space occupied by the toolbar offsets the
text area accordingly, which is irritating.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Writer
2. Create a normal paragraph and a list with bullet points
3. Using the arrow keys, move the text cursor into the list.
4. (if necessary: if the appearing Bullets and Numbering toolbar is floating,
dock it underneath the other toolbars at the top)
5. Using the arrow keys, move the text cursor from the bulleted list into the
normal paragraph.
6. Using the arrow keys, move the text cursor back into the bulleted list.

Current behavior:
Whenever the additional docked toolbar takes up additional space above the text
area, the text area is pushed down by the corresponding amount. Thus, the text
line I was currently focusing on is moved and I need to adjust my vision.

Expected behavior:
The current scroll position of the document should be adjusted accordingly, so
the display of an additional toolbar does not lead to a vertical jump of my
text in the window.

everything is reverted to initial state.

So a minor issue, but still annoying/disturbing, especially on the help pages.

can reproduce it: after importing the docx bugdoc,
the frame is indeed anchored on page 0.

so i don't think it's a good idea to fix the ODF export for this,
because writing an anchor type page without an
anchor-page-number attribute doesn't sound like a good idea;
have added an assertion on master for this.

looks like something is going wrong in the docx import;
i've noticed that there's some code in SwCntntNotify::~SwCntntNotify
that wants to fix frame anchors, perhaps that has
something to do with this...

perhaps those who know the writerfilter stuff better can investigate?

Same file opend with LibO 3.5 Beta2

I confirm the error with LibO 3.4.5 (Windows XP and Vista 64).

The error is solved in LO 3.5. The file is nearly perfect (compared with Word
2007) when opened with LibO 3.5 Beta2, only the number in the box in the upper
right margin is displayed on two lines, see attached image. The red underlined
words (error checking) are not displayed in Word 2007, but it is no error, as
the affected paragraphs are marked as english (in Word and in LO). After
marking the words as russian in LO, the red underlines go away.

2012-02-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon

 Bug #: 45550
Summary: FILESAVE: turning of text / objects not retained when
saving as ppt or pptx
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.4.5 release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Status Whiteboard: BSA
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Presentation
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: bren...@nancy.inra.fr

Created attachment 56533
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=56533
original file in odp format : text and form turned by 90°

Problem description:
saving turned text in ppt or pptx will result in formating problems

Steps to reproduce:
1. create a) simple text and then turn it 90 degrees countre clockwise ; b)
create a shape (e.g. arrow shape pointing right), insert text by doubleclicking
on it, then turn the shape 90 degrees counter clockwise
2. save as odp, ppt or pptx

Current behavior:
3. open odp : everything stay turned OK; open ppt : simple text is OK, but
arrow has turned 90 degrees clockwise (so is in original direction, but not the
same shape), however text has turned by 180degrees, thus now reads from top to
bottom instead of bottom to top; open pptx : both texts and shape are again
horizontal, and additionally have changes place

Expected behavior:
turned text or objects should stay turned

I am changing importance to low because

(1) The program behaviour is so obvious that it is unlikely to cause
the user on-going confusion. Any user with an other application
where serious or persistent confusion is possible can raise the
importance.

(2) The same problem is evident in (at least) the version distributed
with ubuntu-natty, which identifies itself in the About dialog
as

LibreOffice 3.3.4
OOO330m19 (Build:401)
tag libreoffice-3.3.3.1, Ubuntu package 1:3.3.4-0ubuntu1

and, unless my bugzilla search skills are deteriorating, this is
the first report.

available fields list - not the selected field list.

If Yes then that is by design. You can pull field defs from different table
templates or table groups.. So you could pick something from table x go to step
2, back up to step 1, change to table Y def and pull a field def from there,
adding it to the list of fields for this wizard run. I just checked and if you
do remove something from the selected list in step 1 it is removed even if you
set some property in step 2, which is correct.

Also, I really should have created a second issue though as I mixed two
different issues in this one IMO - the screen shot does not show the second
problem which is not just matching field types incorrectly, rather setting a
field type that does not exist at all and requires different steps to
reproduce.

I will do that later today with full set of steps to recreate the problem.

But
in 3.5.0 beta on windows frames in document is very wrong,
the same in 3.3.4 on Fedora 64 bit

In 3.5.0 beta and 3.6.0 master on Fedora 64 bit it indicates that document has

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 45253] EDITING postgreSQL-SDBC New Table wizard mishandles Memo field data types

2012-02-02 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #4 from Lionel Elie Mamane lio...@mamane.lu 2012-02-02 09:30:40

(In reply to comment #3)
Note: when testing, make sure to close the wizard between tests; when going
back and forth between step 1 and 2, the wizard keeps changes you made in step
2, even if you remove and readd a field in step 1.

OK - I think you are referring to removing something in step 1 from the
available fields list - not the selected field list.

No, from the selected field list.

Step 1: category business, table Assets. Add all fields
next to step 2
select field Description; change type to date/time
back to step 1
next to step 2
field description is still date/time: good, as you say.
back to step 1
remove field description
add field description
next to step 2: field description is still date/time. This I did not expect.

Note:

back to step 1
remove field description
next to step 2
back to step 1
add field description
next to step 2: now field description is reset to text

But you can even do:

change field description to date/time
back to step 1
remove field description
take sample table Deliveries
add field ArrivalDate
take sample table Assets
add field Description
next to step 2
next to step 2: field description is still date/time

I assumed it would be reset to defaults (since I removed it and added it back
from template, it seemed to be a *new* field from template to me, not the same
field), but it was not. So I nearly wrote cannot reproduce because I had
changed the field to Text [ text ] once, and now it was stuck there (and not
on Memo [ _abstime ]), even when I removed it and added it back.

The same file prints perfectly under OpenOffice on those systems.

The difference between OpenOffice and LO w.r.t. to the landscape file is that
OpenOffice outputs the file as Postcript, whereas LO uses PDF.

If the LO print setting for the file is changed from PDF to Postscript, then it
prints perfectly, so it seems LO should use Postscript in this situation.

OK - I'm with you now.

Yea, I'd agree that if you remove an item from the selected list on the step 1
tab and then add it back it should revert to the default setting from table
template currently selected. So it appears that this update to what I guess is
a shared data structure used to fill the controls in all tabs is deferred until
the user is about to leave a tab, and this should happen instead when the list
control contents are changed - does that make sense.

Summary: all zeros in .ods document disappears in print
preview, printed document of in exported PDF
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.4.5 release
  Platform: x86 (IA32)
OS/Version: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: sknau...@gmail.com

When I look at my .ods document in edit mode, everything is OK, but when I try
to print it, enter to a preview mode or export my doc to PDF, all zero numbers
(but not digits) disappear. The similar effect can be achieved in editor mode
if we choose a numeric format for cells with no leading zeros. Changing format
to text does not help.

This is so frustrating... The only way is to replace all zeros with O letter.
