[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 49134] New: [FILEOPEN] opening password protected odt from explorer has pasword entry dialog hidden behind other windows

2012-04-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=49134

 Bug #: 49134
Summary: [FILEOPEN] opening password protected odt from
explorer has pasword entry dialog hidden behind other
windows
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.2 Release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: o...@dci-electronics.nl

When opening a password protected odt file, a password must be entered in a
dialog form before the document opens. This form is not on top of all windows
on the screen, but hidden behind them.
Result is that user does know what is happening (i.e. user waits for
LibreOffice dialog and Libreoffice waits for user input).

This happens when another (any) LibreOffice document is already opened, even
when these opened documents are minimised on screen.

It can be reproduced in Windows XP and on OpenSUSE 11.4.

When I create a template (conditional or normal) everything works OK, but when
I later try to change or remove it, things fail.
With F11 I get the list of templates and a right-click shows the menu with
options new, change and remove. Only new works. On change I get no reaction. On
remove the Really want to remove ... appears but on confirming nothing
happens.
I have to create - any time I change a template - a new one and can't overwrite
existing ones too.
This seems to be a bug and should be solved.

Thanks, Klaus

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 47527] FILEOPEN particular DOCX 2007: picture in page footer exceeds margins

2012-04-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #4 from brendel bren...@nancy.inra.fr 2012-04-25 04:22:39 PDT ---
I find something similar with LO 3.5.1.2 on windows Seven (64 bit) :

when I open a docx document the first time usually all objects are at the right
place, however after saving it as docx and reopening, all objects (images,
grafics etc) are together on top of the first page.

I have run different tests :
I created a file with imported images on pages 2 and following, using different
anchorings.
I first saved as docx (Anchoring test.docx) - images are where they should be,
however aligments seem to have changed (probably different problem haven't
lookt at this in detail)
I then re-saved the same file as odt (anchoring test_odt.odt) - I get doubles
of all images, independent of anchoring on the top page and these doubles are
ALL page anchored, even though they were not in the beginning.
When I resave this as docx (anchoring tes_odt_docx.docx) - the images on top
of the first page disappear, and all the other images at their right place get
a read error

It seems to me that when switching between odt and docx somhow the anchoring
information gets lost

Currently (at least on Windows) you can't drop dragged documents onto the
doument type buttons in the Start Center, including their labels and a fairly
large surrounding area.

This is not really that useful in my opinion. It wouldn't be that confusing
even if one could drop (for instance) a spreadsheet onto (for instance) the
Text Document button, and still (naturally) the document would open as a
Spreadsheet, in a Calc window.

So the hack is to find the place where the accepted drop area is defined and
make it cover all of the Start Center. Possibly this means one has to activate
also the buttons for dropping, and then have them just pass on drops to the
Start Center background, or something.

- Win XP 2002 SP3

Context:
I've tried cutting a range of cells from an Excel spreadsheet.
Then I tried again cutting a list of lines from a notepad.
Finally I tried again pasting the lines into Writer. Then converting them into
a table and cutting it again.

I'm editing a table content and I've tried to paste the mentioned source
contents into a LO Base field-cell/box expecting LO Base to append/create a
number of new records at one click.

The target table at LO Base has a structure defined by just one single
compatible (VARCHAR(200)) field.

Sympthoms: LibreOffice Base pastes the array into the single field-cell.

print preview
-

I have seen the all-grey print-preview before, and I thought it was a
feature rather than a bug. The workaround is simple: enter
something--even a blank--somewhere in the spreadsheet.

(Bug 48348 VIEWING FILEOPEN spreadsheet saved from page preview opens
to grey is different from this one in that the grey background there
arises in a different context and the workaround is even more simple.)

PDF export
--

The message from the attempt to export an empty document as PDF reads

Error saving the document Untitled2:
Write Error.
The file could not be written.

This is unhelpfully generic. But still, I suspect that the attempt to
export an empty document is as likely to be accidental as it is to be
intended. Presumably, the same workaround is effective.

You did not enter a valid data field to your Pivot Table Layout.

If you add a valid data field (e.g. Sum - Qty), it works as expected, at least
in my installation (3.5.3.1/Linux x86).

Could you please try once again with a valid data field and reopen the bug if
you find it still does not work as desired.

So the bug you described seems to be rather a usage problem. But ok, one might
consider to catch empty data field with a warning.

We should do some git greps for these icons eg. for:

git grep 'checkunx'

just to double check they are in fact not used; and then git remove them try

[Reproduced] Seems like clipoard content includes the list number.

Steps:
1) Create numbered list in a text document
2) Select part of the sentence or even part of a word
3) Paste it by Middle Click into an *editor* window (but not back into a writer
document as here the effect does not show - but see below) OR
4) Paste Special as Unformatted Text into an empty paragraph in Writer OR
5) simply look at the clipboard content (e.g. by pressing the clipboard viewer
icon in the sys tray or how it's called in Linux)

BTW, the same happens if using Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V.

Intended behavior or bug?

It workw well, and in addition you don't need to press del, only with Alt
 +
arrows or Alt + Ctrl + arrow you will get the same results.
Without Del it only resizes column or cell. And we want to merge (two cells

adjusting Severity (- enhancement) as this is an enhancement request

@Rodrigo:
I'm not sure how you think a master page could work in Writer. Writer is a text
processor, so it handles continuous text of arbitrary length. It is *not* page
based, therefore you can not define a master page, at least I can not imagine
how.

What you can do instead, is setting up a 'Page Template' where certain style
settings (borders, header/footer lines, columns) are predefined. But this is
implemented already, you just need to understand how to use it.

Please discuss such raw ideas in an appropriate list. If your can elaborate
your idea, feel free to come back and reopen this request.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 49149] New: [PRINTING]: LibreOffice always uses CUPS default settings instead of what I choose for printing

2012-04-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=49149

 Bug #: 49149
Summary: [PRINTING]: LibreOffice always uses CUPS default
settings instead of what I choose for printing
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.5.2 Release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: ue...@student.kit.edu

The paper input (paper source) option in the Printing's Preferences dialogue
always gets set back to Tray 1, even if I have the multi-purpose-tray selected.
When I change the default settings in CUPS, the printer will print from
whatever I choose as default settings.

The printer is a Kyocera FS-C5030N, used as a network printer. It was installed
through CUPS.

Other settings (Multiple Pages on one side, Duplex Unit etc) seem to work fine.
The multi-purpose tray was selected as installed in CUPS, and shows in the
printing's Preference dialogue.

Classification: Unclassified

  Platform: Other

Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Status Whiteboard: BSA
  Severity: normal

 Component: Spreadsheet
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: zaboda...@yandex.ru

Problem description:

When you open xlsx file containing comments you see that all comments are shown
(visible).
You can hide all comments one by one (as there's no interface option Hide All
Comments) and save file in the current format (xlsx).
But after reopening this file you see that all comments are shown again.

The only workaround is to hide comments one by one and save file in ods or xls.

This is a regression, as LO 3.4.5 showed comments in xlsx correctly.

consistent with other LibO applications. == bug

@Markus:
I have to apologise. For me it looked like a regression caused by some of your
changes since this bug is related with blank cells, too. Again: Sorry.

But I do not think that this is my personal bug. All LibO users are affected
by such problems.

Could you take this one and provide a patch?

But still, I suspect that the attempt to
export an empty document is as likely to be accidental as it is to be
intended.

I disagree. Documents can consist of only formattings. Imagine - for example -
printing a blank table structure for writing by hand...

And again: Current behaviour is inconsistent with other LibO applications.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 49151] New: PDF export of Empty sheet causes error message, PRINTING fails silently

2012-04-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=49151

 Bug #: 49151
Summary: PDF export of Empty sheet causes error message,
PRINTING fails silently
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: LibO 3.3.0 Beta2
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: Windows (All)
Status: NEW
  Severity: trivial
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: libreoff...@bielefeldundbuss.de

Original report was in Bug 49115 - UI: document saved from Page Preview shows
empty grey UI background instead of page preview, and that tis one might be
related.

When I try to export an empty sheet with with LibreOffice 3.5.3.1 (RC1)
English UI/ German Locale [Build-ID: 21cb047-d7e6025-9ba54fc-b4a51a8-f42372b]
on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit), no PDF will be created, instead Error
saving Document. Write Error. The file could not be written.

Cell borders will heal the problem, but not cell background

Inconsistent compared with other LibO applications and compared to printing,
what works without error message, but wrongly; expected would be print of page
with heading and footer, actual no printout.

Same with LibO 3.3.3 and OOo 3.3, so inherited from OOo

Pls also see Bug 43012 - Printing of sheets without invisible contents should
be suppressed with unchecked 'Include Output of empty pages'

@OfficeUser, @Terrence Enger:
This bug has been confirmed, the current behavior is inconsistent to other LibO
applications and sometimes a little annoying and so it's a (trivial) bug. I
doubt that further discussion will be useful, especially here in this
particular bug.

For the PDF problem I submitted Bug 49151 - PDF export of Empty sheet causes

Have you looked carefully on your screen? It may be hard to recognize dark grey

Well, I do not reproduce under Ubuntu 11.10 x86_64 with LO 3.4.5 (ubuntu
version), LO 3.4.6, LO 3.5.2, LO 3.5.3rc1 and LO 3.5.4 rc0+.
What I did:
1/ installed Assurbanipal font from
http://www.hethport.uni-wuerzburg.de/cuneifont/ in ~/.fonts
2/ installed aegean font from http://users.teilar.gr/~g1951d/ in ~/.fonts
3/ restart LO and open bugdoc = looks fine
4/ export in pdf format
5/ did 3/ and 4/ for each version of LO
Attached is an archive with all pdf files. Please verify if they are correct as
I think they are.

Best regards. JBF

Can confirm that, also in LibreOffice 3.5.2. Needs to be fixed as soon as
possible, makes using Calc quite impossible for any nontrivial Excel sheet you
get

Sorry for the sloppy report. I just uploaded a document with containing a
simple test example.

Here is some more information on my setup:
 * Ubuntu 11.10 64
 * Linux version 3.0.0-17-generic (buildd@yellow) (gcc version 4.6.1
(Ubuntu/Linaro 4.6.1-9ubuntu3) ) #30-Ubuntu SMP Thu Mar 8 20:45:39 UTC 2012
 * LibreOffice 3.4.4 OOO340m1 (Build:402)
 * GNOME Shell 3.2.2.1

LO Language Settings:
 * User Interface: English (UK)
 * Locale setting: German (Austria)
 * Decimal separator key: [x] Same as locale setting (,)
 * Default currency: EUR
 * Western: German (Austria)

I could also reproduced this behaviour on a WinXP vbox running LibreOffice
3.4.6 OOO340m1 (Build: 602) on complete german locale settings.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 48402] EDITING: Misaligned cursor when character spacing is set to expanded

2012-04-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48402

--- Comment #3 from Andrew Harrington anharringt...@gmail.com 2012-04-25

Without expanded spacing, I have the same problem on Mac with Lion OS.
I just downloaded latest stable
LibreOffice 3.5.2.2
Build ID: 281b639-6baa1d3-ef66a77-d866f25-f36d45f

Same problem on 3.5.
The issue seems to be specifically with a sequence of space characters in a
variable width font like Times New Roman.
No problem with fixed width fonts or an artificial example with no spaces, but
if I have set up a layout with spaces, I cannot edit in any reasonable fashion.

In particular in a new document, with Time New Roman 12 font, if I set spaces
to be visible, and start entering a sequence of spaces, the last space dot
appears further and further to the right of the cursor as I add more spaces,
though *logically* the cursor should be at the right end of the spaces.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 48851] VIEWING, UI: Random display corruption of headers in document

2012-04-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon

Created attachment 60596
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=60596
Document that often has the corruption

As I said in my other comments, the document doesn't always show the
corruption. Sometimes it does, and most of the time it doesn't. And I checking
into the XML and the textual data is still there, so it's more of a rendering
issue than a data corruption issue.

I've had it happen on even extremely simple files with just heading elements in
it as well.

Are you really using this file under MS-Windows ? If it is the case, you should
check if you Ubuntu font is installed on your PC. Indeed the heading styles of
your bugdoc are defined with Ubuntu font and this font is probably not
installed by default on MS-Windows systems.

Best regards. JBF

Hm, I was too busy with the example in the report (I misunderstood), so that I
did not read the summary carefully.

[Reproducible] with LibreOffice 3.5.3.1 (RC1) German UI/Locale [Build-ID:
21cb047-d7e6025-9ba54fc-b4a51a8-f42372b] on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit):

a) formula in A2: =MONTH(B2)
b) B2: Empty cell.
c) result unexpectedly number 12

Also in LibO 3.3.3, OOo 3.3, OOo 1.1.4, so inherited from OOo

Some thoughts:
An empty cell might be seen as 0 by the function, what is the same as
30.12.1899 in normal number format. For that the result would be correct. I
tested with Numbers 0 ... 3 in B2, and indeed for 0 and 1 function result is
12, for 3 (1.1.1900) result became 1 for January.
So the calculation is correct, but may be an error message for an empty cell
would be more consistent than simply counting it as 0? I can't see a real
bug, many other number operations count empty cells as 0

I did some additional tests with 'Date()', where also empty cells are counted
as 0.

Bug or feature? I can't tell. Currently I see this one more as a low priority
Enhancement Request to improve consistency and comprehensibility than a real
bug.

@David:
May be Help should be competed concerning empty cells?

@Kohei:
Can you please check whether MONTH() behaves in accordance with the current
general exception rules?
