Tried a few more things:
1) Reverted back to LO3.5.4 (default version in LM13 repo). Bug could not be
reproduced in the earlier version.
2) Upgraded to LO version 3.6.0.2 from official LO ppa. Bug re-appeared.
3) Ran through instructions as per Julien's link. Backtrace output attached.

Also, I tried a fresh install of LM13-MATE on another partition with LO3.6.0.2.
Could not reproduce bug in this environment.

Curiously enough, today I don't observe this problem... Despite I made several
attempts to fix it yesterday, and all these attempts were failed, today I can't
reproduce it. Maybe it was a problem of a concrete file...

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 54070] New: BUILD: LibreOffice does not build on Mac OS 10.7 or higher

2012-08-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54070

 Bug #: 54070
Summary: BUILD: LibreOffice does not build on Mac OS 10.7 or
higher
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS/Version: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Libreoffice
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: nicksha...@nickshanks.com

(I am filing this as a bug so that others may find it with google, and it can
get closed once the issue is fixed, and also as a sort of documentation on my
experiences trying to compile, for those who may follow me)

From http://www.neooffice.org/neojava/en/build.php :

Building NeoOffice 3.3 on Mac OS X 10.7 or higher is not feasible and the
build will eventually fail. Numerous pieces of NeoOffice's underlying
OpenOffice.org source code would need to be rewritten in order for NeoOffice to
compile on Mac OS X 10.6 or higher so we compile NeoOffice on the oldest Mac OS
X version that NeoOffice can run on and use dynamic loading for APIs and
features on newer Mac OS X versions.

I too have yet to succeed in building LibreOffice on Mac OS 10.7 at the present
time (post 3.6.0). I tried both with and without various combinations of the
following configuration options:

./autogen.sh --with-max-jobs=8 --with-num-cpus=8 --with-macosx-sdk=10.[467]
--enable-debug --with-boost=no --with-system-boost=no --without-doxygen
--disable-odk --disable-mozilla

I have also used:
$ sudo xcode-select /Applications/Xcode.app  # builds with Xcode 4.3.2
$ sudo xcode-select /Developer   # builds with Xcode 4.1
$ sudo xcode-select /Developer-old   # builds with Xcode 3.2.6

With --with-macosx-sdk=10.4, ./autogen fails with the following:

checking how to run the C preprocessor... /lib/cpp
configure: error: C preprocessor /lib/cpp fails sanity check
See `config.log' for more details.
Error running configure at ./autogen.sh line 187.

(config.log only contains configure: exit 1)

With other SDKs the build fails after 35 minutes (in 81/85 Tail build) with
errors talking about libraries with duplicate installation names, all relating
somehow to unxmacxi.pro. An example is:
ld: warning: dylibs with same install name:
/Users/nickshanks/Projects/LibreOffice/core/solver/unxmacxi.pro/lib/libuno_sal.dylib
and
/Users/nickshanks/Projects/LibreOffice/core/solver/unxmacxi.pro/lib/libuno_sal.dylib.3

I believe this relates to the Uno Office Development Kit, which is why I tried
--disable-odk (although this doesn't seem to prevent pyuno from appearing in
the terminal as LO is built)

The failure is an infinite loop and if left unchecked (I built overnight) with
fill up 16 Exabytes of virtual memory and make the computer unresponsive to
input.

This was a known issue with 3.6.0.4. From the release notes:

http://www.libreoffice.org/download/release-notes/

If you update from an earlier version, spellchecking might be broken. In this
case, the following workaround helps:

On Linux, in a terminal window enter rm -r
~/.config/libreoffice/3/user/extensions
On Mac OS X, in a Terminal window enter rm -r ~/Library/Application\
Support/LibreOffice/3/user/extensions
On Windows, in a Command Prompt window enter rmdir /q /s
%appdata%\LibreOffice\3\user\extensions
After that, please restart LibreOffice twice.

Does this fix your issue?

LibO seems to work with any mail client except WLM, to me that seems to be a
WLM problem?

That WLM works with other WIN programs proves nothing, what's with other
not-Microsoft-Programs?

I found some tips on
http://email.about.com/od/livemaildesktoptips/Windows_Live_Mail_desktop_Tips_Tricks_and_Secrets.htm

and
http://email.about.com/od/outlookexpresshacks/qt/Command_Line_Mail_in_Windows_Live_Mail_or_Outlook_Express.htm

Currently I'm tending to make this one as NOTOURBUG if we do not get plausible
indication that this is a LibO bug.

A sample ODT document where you can just type/paste text to reproduce the
crash.

Problem description:
When a table has a row with a horizontal split cell and the row has allow row
to break across pages and columns disabled filling the top split cell to be
more than a page causes an immediate crash.

Steps to reproduce:
1. blank writer document
2. insert a 2 column, 1 row table
3. select the row and set allow row to break across pages and columns to
disabled
4. split the cell on the right horizontal into 2 cells (so it becomes a cell on
top of a cell)

I did tests with French dates formats (10/08/2012) and ISO format (2012-08-10).

 @Jochen:
Please contribute more detailed and more precise description how you reproduce
the bug. Path on HD, Antivirus software, WIN Settings, way how you open the
document, installed Extensions, all that might be important in the current
 situation poking in the dark.

precise description how you reproduce the bug.
Currently respectively after testing on various platforms I can´t reproduce my
own bugreport. After testing means: registration odb-file to open the
odb-file. Now testing the odb-file und reproducing the bug 53527. Then
de-registration of the odb-file, i.e. removing the odb-file in Tools -
Options -
LibreOffice Base - Database - Registered databases.
I have only seen the bug in virgin systems (Windows XP and Windows 7 and LO
3.5.5 and LO 3.6.1).

 Path on HD
Yes - C:\Users\username\Desktop

 Antivirus software
Yes - Avira Antivirus Premium (complete active)

 WIN Settings
What do you want to know?

way how you open the document
Two ways:
1) Double-click on the odb-file using Windows-Explorer
(C:\Users\username\Desktop\ReportBuilder_Textfields_without_Contentmarker.odb)
2) Start LibreOffice, i.e. double-click on Start (Windows) - choose
LibreOffice (e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\LibreOffice
3.5\program\soffice.exe) - choosing File - chossing Open... - open
C:\Users\username\Desktop\ReportBuilder_Textfields_without_Contentmarker.odb

 installed Extensions
No extenions in LO 3.6.1.1 RC
In LO 3.5.5 some extensions (productive system) like e.g. Batch2PDF or
Berichtassistent or MySQL Connector.
MHO the extensions have no significance in this case - reason: in LO 3.6.1.1
RC no extension are installed.

I suggest that status is set to RESOLVED - WORKSFORME.

Yes - Avira Antivirus Premium (complete active)

The same I use, so not really a candidate

  WIN Settings
What do you want to know?
If I would know ...

 1) Double-click on the odb-file using Windows-Explorer
 (C:\Users\username\Desktop\ReportBuilder_Textfields_without_Contentmarker.odb)
 2) Start LibreOffice, i.e. double-click on Start (Windows) - choose
 LibreOffice (e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\LibreOffice
 3.5\program\soffice.exe) - choosing File - chossing Open... - open
 C:\Users\username\Desktop\ReportBuilder_Textfields_without_Contentmarker.odb

Both worked for me

I suggest that status is set to RESOLVED - WORKSFORME.
I think currently we can't do anything else to find the roots, but my suspec is
that this problem will reappear ...

@all:
Please feel free to reopen this bug if the problem reappears.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 54073] New: CONFIGURATION: [Video] Formatting Aids - Options are not stored correctly, unchecked nonprinting characters becoming visible again

2012-08-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54073

 Bug #: 54073
Summary: CONFIGURATION: [Video] Formatting Aids - Options are
not stored correctly, unchecked nonprinting characters
becoming visible again
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.6.0.4 release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Status Whiteboard: BSA
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: comenius...@gmail.com

Problem description: Upon restart or reactivation the menu options under
LibreOffice Writer / Formatting Aids have no effect. Regardless of what
characters you chose to show, all get reactivated after switching the
formatting aids off and on again.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open any document of your choice
2. Activate the Formatting Aids (Strg + F10)
3. Change the Formatting Aids options under Preferences / LibreOffice Writer /
Formatting Aids to show none of the available menu options
4. Hit save and go back to your document. You will now see that the only
available Formatting Aid is the pager border.
5. Deactivate the Formatting Aids (STRG + F10)
6. Reactivate them (STRG+F10)
7. Result: initial Formatting Aids configuration is restored. All nonprinting
characters are visible again

Current behavior: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PR9ssogeGc4 (please do not pay
attention to the audio, it was recorded out of mistake)

Expected behavior: Checked and unchecked states of menu options under
Preferences / LibreOfffice Writer should be properly stored and persist until
manually changed by the user.

Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.1 (KHTML, like Gecko)

Please never reopen a fixed bug report for a different problem. And please redo
all the changes and close this bug report again and open anew one.

The original problem is fixed and you are now misusung this bug report for
another problem that is not related with the first one. This might not be
obvious but as soon as you noticed that the original bug description is fixed
you should never reopen a bug report. The right solution is to open a new one
with a new description and put the developer who fixed the bug report into cc.

Reopening a fixed bug and misusing it for a different bug report only creates
problems and distracts developers and makes it harder to keep record of fixed
bug and all references in the source code to this bug report are now more or
less becoming useless.

@Renaud:

Thank you very much for your clarification and for testing again! It is good to
hear that this issue is no longer reproducible with the current versions of
LibreOffice (3.5.6 and 3.6.0). Probably it was fixed by some other fix related
to table formatting.

Thank you again!

(PS: I have changed RESOLVED/FIXED to /WORKSFORME, because we prefer WORKSFORME
instead of FIXED, when the issue is just no longer reproducible and we don’t
know which commit(s) exactly fixed the issue.)

I can confirm the build failures on OSX 10.8, having attempted with clang, but
have given up for the time being.

I even tried using Stephan Bergman's script, which installs a user chroot for
macports to isolate it from the rest of the system, but even that failed when
trying to install libidl.

I also confirm.
It’s related to the explorer extension.

Unselect it at installation and it should work properly again.

Explorer extension is very slow on Windows and may crash the explorer if you
select a big file (several Mb).

I get the following error when trying to run .autogen.sh :

autom4te: m4sugar/m4sugar.m4 : no such file or directory
aclocal /Developer/usr/bin/autom4te failed with exit status : 1
Failed to run aclocal at ./autogen.sh line 152

So despite having added those directories to my PATH environment in
.bash_profile, it is still failing.

The problem with XCode 4.4.1, is that it doesn't actually seem to come with
aclocal, automake, autom4te, or any of the make utilities..., which naturally
doesn't help matters very much.

Setting this as DUP of 52639 which is resolved fixed, and should no longer be a
problem with LO 3.6.1.

@Colin : Please test the release candidate for 3.6.1 and re-open if the bug is
still present with that version.

NOT reproducible with parallel installation of Master LOdev 3.7.0.0.alpha0+
- ENGLISH UI [Build ID: 6900781] {tinderbox: 2008R2@20, pull time 2012-08-25

I uninstalled old Master, renamed User Profile and installed without any
optional component. Worked fine, first launch without any problems.

Second attempt as before, but for installation only Extensions in optional
components unselected, rest as per default. Same good result.

That all tells us nothing about situation with 3.6. And may be there is a
particular unknown relation between Extensions what only causes problems if a
particular compination installed - uninstalled is on PC?

And of course, in nrmal builds more extensions as in this reduced build might
be shipped, especially languages.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 54078] New: Use tabs to organize opened windows

2012-08-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54078

 Bug #: 54078
Summary: Use tabs to organize opened windows
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: Master old -3.6
  Platform: All

Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: medium
 Component: Libreoffice
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: pswo10...@gmail.com

Tab browsing has been a dominate way to surf the net, and has been proved
efficient with organizing many windows.

I suggest LibreOffice introduce tab browsing to manage opened documents to
reduce the amount of windows when we are in heavy use. The switch between
documents will be more easily.

For example, all the Writer windows become organized in one main window, and
use tabs to switch between them. So does Impress, and so on.

 What is Extend Selection?

Sorting data in a spreadsheet, if you highlight one column and then select Sort
(either through the menu: Data -- Sort or the quick sort icon in the toolbar),
a window pops up giving you three options: Extend selection, Current selection,
or Cancel. If you select Extend selection the highlighted sort area will
extend to all the data on the sheet. If you select Current selection only the
data in the selected column will be sorted. Normally, users need to sort all
the data using one (or more) columns as the sort order.

Original and corrupt file after save

Attached XLS file that I got from a user gets corrupted when saved in 3.5.6. He
has other files that exhibit the same behavior (but not all of his files), but
they contain personal info, so this is the only one I got permission to post.

I didn't test in older versions, but I can't reproduce the same corruption in
3.6 versions. Still, this causes data loss, so it should be investigated
anyway.
Currious is especially the great size expansion that happens to this file (72
kB - 15 MB).

There is a simmilar bug 52484 that also causes big size expansion, but the file
is still readable, unlike in this case.

LibreOffice Calc splash screen

The status text in the splash screen is dislocated and partially lies outside
the client area of the splash screen. This is caused by the windows readability
option allowing 100%, 125% and 150% zoom of fonts, altering textheight.
Sometimes the position of components inside a window is also affected.

To fix this, the scaled property of the parent window must be set to false.
This property has no effect for 100% font zoom so it may easily be overlooked.

For me that never worked, same results with with Server Installation (own
profile) of LibreOffice 3.4.5 RC1 - WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) German UI
[Build ID: OOO340m1 (Build:501)] and with Server Installation of LibreOffice
3.3.3 German UI/Locale [OOO330m19 (Build:301) tag libreoffice-3.3.3.1] on
German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)

Results with 3.6.1 and 3.4.5 see attached samples created with LibO 3.6.1 and
LibO 3.4.5.

Conditional Formatting needs the day number 41147 in condition, that will
work. Any formatted in condition seems to fail.

All the same opening my sample documents with AOOo 3.4. so the problem seems
inherited from OOo

BTW, Autofilter is more flexible, recognizes 26.8., 2012-08-26 and 41147
correctly in the same column as filter condition.

Thank you for your report – unfortunately important information is missing.
May be hints on http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport will help you to
find out what information will be useful to reproduce your problem? If you
believe that that is really sophisticated please as for Help on a user mailing
list
Please:
- Attach a sample document (not only screenshot) or refer to an existing
sample document in an other Bug with a link; to attach a file to this
bug report, just click on Add an attachment right on this page.
- Attach screenshots with comments if you believe that that might explain the
problem better than a text comment. Best way is to insert your screenshots
into a DRAW document and to add comments that explain what you want to show
- Contribute a document related step by step instruction containing every
key press and every mouse click how to reproduce your problem
(similar to example in Bug 43431)
– if possible contribute an instruction how to create a sample document
  from the scratch
- add information
  -- concerning your PC
-- concerning your OS (Version, Distribution, Language)
-- concerning your LibO localization (UI language, Locale setting)
–- Libo settings that might be related to your problems
-- how you launch LibO and how you opened the sample document
–- Whether your problem persists when you renamed your user profile before

Okay don't be mad, but that's how it seems to me:

Document somehow !!seems!! to got saved with a false page number (1/13)
Now LO opens the document and recalculates the number of pages (1/6)

And the picture: That happens too often IMHO

Now change theVerankerung (Can be set to char / page) [3rd from top when
right-clicking the image]

All pages appear again...

IMHO ( and I am very strict now): Is it worth to fix this bug?? Only one
document affected AND it works, when you move the pic and save it...

Please comment...

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 54085] New: If the user selects a change in the document, it should be reflected in the Accept or Reject changes window

2012-08-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54085

 Bug #: 54085
Summary: If the user selects a change in the document, it
should be reflected in the Accept or Reject changes
window
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.6.1.1 rc
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: narayana...@hotmail.com

To replicate this problem, do the following:

1. Select the EditCompare documents menu option.
2. Select the EditChangesShow menu option.
3. Select the EditChangesAccept or reject... menu option.

Now load a couple of documents where one document is the edited version of
another.

Assume that there are lots of changes between the two documents (so many that
you cannot navigate/manage the changes manually).

Browse the current document and locate a random nth change in the document.

Now assume that you decided to switch to the Accept or Reject changes window.
But the problem is, the currently selected change is not reflected
(highlighted) in the Accept or Reject changes window.

So once you have manually browsed and selected a change, you cannot switch to
the Accept or Reject changes window. You would have to experimentally click
on multiple changes to locate the spot where you had selected in the document.

This problem can be solved by the following:
1. If the user clicks inside a changed text in the document, select the
corresponding entry in the Accept or Reject changes window.

2. Display page number in the Accept or Reject changes window. This will
allow the user to skip some pages and go directly to a desired page.

Reopening--at least for now, to allow a bit more exposure of potential for JRE
misconfiguration during upgrades causing a poor LibreOffice
experience--especially for users dependent on JRE based Accessibility Tools.

Still feel this is a NOTOURBUG, but we have made other accommodations, e.g.
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51252 inclusion of MSVCR100.dll,
so we might have to solve the JRE issues impacting Java Access Bridge and
LO/AOO Accessibility Tools for Windows and OSX environments.

I thought of yet another improvement:

3. Provide serial numbers to all changes in the Accept or Reject changes
window. Now when the user hovers his mouse on a change, display this serial
number as a tooltip. This will instantly establish a correlation between the
change in the document and its entry in the Accept or Reject changes window.

  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: fuchs_fr...@freenet.de

A cell's height is wrongly calculated for display if it contains more content
than what can usually be displayed AND if zoom factor is set to something below
100% AND if automatic line break is set to on for this cell.
Please also note:
Open a spreadsheet with such a cell: incorrect display (height not big enough).
If you then enter further text into this cell and leave it with return, cell
height is correctly adapted. After saving and re-opening the spreadsheet, it is
again wrongly displayed (cutting off text in the cell).
This bug is in 3.6 and also in 3.5, not tested in 3.4.

I could reproduce this bug in the 3.5.0 release version (rc3), but not in
3.4.6. Changed version field accordingly. Furthermore, the issue persists in
3.6.1.2.

closely to the given example. But with some troubles with aspect ratio (the
circles look like ellipses).

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 48415] VIEWING: Hiding group footer breaks keep together

2012-08-26 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #3 from rob...@familiegrosskopf.de 2012-08-26 17:56:56 UTC ---
An attachment, which would show the problem, would be helpful (Database and
pictures ...)
There are many bugs in the report-builder. One of them is, that details could
not be kept together ( https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=45338 ).
I can't reproduce a bug, which shows the behaviour Saturn Knight has written
here. When I test it there is no difference between a report with group header
and with or without footer. Details weren't kept together, when there isn't
enough place. And that is Bug 45338.

I think it makes more sense right now to track it as duplicate of Bug 54007.
The other problem is already fixed but as Rainer mentioned dates in conditional
formats never really worked and I can imagine why but this is then not a
regression in 3.6
