NOT reproducible with LibreOffice 3.6.2.1 rc German UI/ German Locale
[Build-ID: ba822cc] on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)

I tested with attached test kit and
- Server Installation of LibreOffice 3.3.3 German UI/Locale [OOO330m19
(Build:301) tag libreoffice-3.3.3.1] on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)
- Server installation LibreOffice 3.4.5 German UI [Build ID: OOO340m1

- Server Installation of LibreOffice 3.5.1.2 German UI/Locale [Build-ID:

- LibreOffice 3.6.2.1 rc German UI/ German Locale [Build-ID: ba822cc] on

Beneath several other things I tested whether I can copy/paste a word with some
formatting (background, language, character color) to a different document, and
most times the pasted word had as expected formatting. But in one case I only
was able to paste the unformatted word, and only this option was offered in
Menu 'Edit - Paste special'. But I am not able to reproduce that result.

@nuno.po...@gmail.com:
is not possible is much to imprecise. What does that mean? You did not find
how? Menu Item offered, active, but does not work? Offered but greyed out?
Please describe exactly what you expect and what your result is.

@Noel Grandin:
But the result is top secret? ;-)

On pc Debian x86-64 with master sources updated today, I made different tests:

1) just open the file
LO doesn't display any popup about filtering, it opens the file showing all the
xml tags

2) open the file by telling to LO it's html (plain html, not Calc html or
something)
LO displays the file without xml formatting except the first xml tag (?xml
version...)

3) I made the same tests with a brand new file, I've got the same results.

- is test 1) an ok by default behaviour?

Finally, in open type, should there be a specific XHTML part or should it be
added to HTML, HTM?

Any idea?

Start Center Screenshot

Clicking through the site I found 2 smaller link issues

a) on Característiques is a Screenshot of an English lanugage Start Center
with a link in it, what only again leads to
http://ca.libreoffice.org/caracteristiques/, it's unnecessary. The Picture
should be replaced by a screenshot in Català (see attached Screenshot), and the
link should be removed (or may be some more screenshots can be added for some
click through?).

b) There is a PMF (Frequently Asked Questions) item in the links bar, what
only leads to under construction. Under construction should be replaced by
an invitation to contribute (if that PMF project really exists), or the link
should be removed from the Hyperlink bar.

What Java version do you have?
Does the crash happen with a brand new document?

You can try the raw method too:
- uninstall LO

- rename your LO directory profile
- install a new LO version (3.5.X or better, 3.6.X version)

Suppose you have a rectangle. You want to move it. You place mouse cursor over
the rectangle and left click it. Wait a moment. The cursor changes and you
 move
the mouse. You do not see object shadow moving. This is the bug. You release
mouse button and the rectangle is in the new position. But you were not able
 to
position the rectangle because the object shadow was invisible while dragging.

It works for me:
Version 3.6.0.4 (Build ID: 932b512) Slackware Linux 13.37
I can see the shadow while dragging the rectangle. Same happens when dragging a
line.

Which Operating System are you using? Can you try again with the latest
Libreoffice release.

Hmm, the alpha and a letters are identical when they are capitalized. It is not
a bug.

What is weird on your screencopy is that some lowercase greek letters are
missing : alpha, beta, gamma, dzeta, eta, theta, iota, kappa, lambda.

Please, could you try to type arabic equivalent of %alpha, %beta in the command
window of Math module ?

Thank you for your help.

Since no one else reproduced this and reporter sent me a private mail to say he
no longer uses Linux, I put it as WFM.

Don't hesitate guys to reopen the bug if you reproduce it.

When going into Tools -- Options -- Appearance -- Application Background
 and
changing the colour to something other than the default in Libreoffice Draw,
 nothing happens.

It works for me:
Version 3.6.0.4 (Build ID: 932b512) Slackware Linux 13.37

Closing as this is an old bug and I suppose this is fixed in newer version. If
you think otherwise please re-open it.

Thank you very much for your bug report!

After some research, I think this could be the same issue as (or at least
related to) bug 50856. Can you please take a look at the screenshots attached
to bug 50856 and confirm if you see similar things?

Or, if the bad drawing you see in the Start Center window looks different,
could you please take a screenshot (*) of the badly drawn Start Center window
and attach it to the present bug report?

This would it make much easier to track this issue down.
Thank you very much in advance!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 54956] New: FORMATTING: Conditional formatting on sheet 1 lost when I add another condition to sheet 2

2012-09-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54956

 Bug #: 54956
Summary: FORMATTING: Conditional formatting on sheet 1 lost
when I add another condition to sheet 2
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.6.1.2 release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Status Whiteboard: BSA
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Spreadsheet
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: filtertheo...@web.de

Problem description:

I have a spreadsheet with 9 sheets:
- sheet 1 has no conditional formatting
- sheet 2 has 1 condition for one column
- sheet 3 has no conditional formatting
- sheet 4 has no conditional formatting
- sheet 5 has 3 conditions: 1 for 48 cells, 1 for 8 cells and 1 for 4 cells,
all non-overlapping
- sheet 6 has 3 conditions, like sheet 5
- sheet 7 has 3 conditions, like sheet 5
- sheet 8 has 3 conditions, like sheet 5
- sheet 9 has 1 condition for 48 cells

All of the conditions just change the background color of cells. The conditions
are all of the All Cells - Color Scale (2 Entries) type.

I seem to have reached some kind of limit of the total number of rules for
conditional formatting within one spreadsheet. That limit seems to be 1 or 2
less than the number of conditions I've listed above.

Steps to reproduce:
1. I notice that the conditional formatting of one range on one sheet is gone.
2. I add that conditional formatting again.
3. Now the conditional formatting on another sheet is gone.

Current behavior:
See steps to reproduce above.

Expected behavior:
Of course I'd like to be able to add additional formatting rules without
affecting the existing ones.

Platform (if different from the browser):
Problem seen on Mac OS X 10.8.1.
Problem didn't show up in a short test on 64-bit Windows 7.
Have not checked Linux yet.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 52475] Long time opening RTF - RTF corupted

2012-09-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=52475

--- Comment #1 from Mike Kaganski mikekagan...@hotmail.com 2012-09-15
08:49:19 UTC ---
Please note that this issue is mainly about corruption, not long opening
time. The open time has been largely addressed in 3.6, and is still worked upon
in Bug 44736, while the problem with wrong character background color stays.

Apparently the RTF importer ignores \chcbpat0 control word. In the color table
of this file, the color 0 is skipped (the \colortbl control word is immediately
followed by semicolon); the RTF standard specifies this as use the default
color as color 0 (Word 2007: Rich Text Format (RTF) Specification, version
1.9.1 (http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=10725), page 23).
But even if I manually define a value for color 0, LO still ignores it. The
only way to change the character background (without exiting a group) is to use
\chcbpatN, where N0.

Thank you very much for your bug report!

I can not reproduce this for now, but I will try later again (in the moment, I
am very busy with a survey of all the old Mac accessibility related bug
reports). Therefore:

@ Other bugwranglers:
It would be very nice if someone else could try to reproduce this ...

Some first hints for bugwranglers:
* The stack traces in the three log files are rather similar, therefore I would
guess that this is actually one bug.
* “UA” means “Universal Access”, Apples accessibility settings in the
System Preferences. However, from a first look at the stack traces in the
three log files, I would say that this crash does *not* look like
closely related to Mac accessibility features. At least it is different
from all other issues of that kind which I have seen before.
* There is even a good chance that this crash is *not* Mac-specific, but can
be reproduced on other operating systems ...

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 52234] EDITING no shadow while dragging an object

2012-09-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=52234

--- Comment #2 from sunmoo...@gazeta.pl 2012-09-15 09:31:59 UTC ---
(In reply to comment #1)
 (In reply to comment #0)
Suppose you have a rectangle. You want to move it. You place mouse cursor
  over
the rectangle and left click it. Wait a moment. The cursor changes and you
  move
the mouse. You do not see object shadow moving. This is the bug. You release
mouse button and the rectangle is in the new position. But you were not
  able to
position the rectangle because the object shadow was invisible while
  dragging.

 It works for me:
Version 3.6.0.4 (Build ID: 932b512) Slackware Linux 13.37
I can see the shadow while dragging the rectangle. Same happens when dragging
 a
 line.

I'd like to clarify: I can see the shadow too, but ONLY when I start dragging
sufficiently fast after clicking the object. When I click, then wait a second
or two, then the shadow vanishes. So: don not click and immediately drag, but
click, wait, and drag. You should see the effect.

Which Operating System are you using?

It is Win 7 Home Premium or Win 7 Professional. However I've seen this effect
under Linux as well.

Can you try again with the latest
 Libreoffice release.

I can now see this with Draw from LibreOffice Version 3.6.1.2 (Build ID:
e29a214).

simple file with only 2 conditions

A single condition is enough for observing the issue (open the attached file
and delete row 4).
The disappearance of all or any of the conditions exists when there is crash,
but with a simple file only the loss of conditions is observed.

Mac Accessibility Related Bugs Survey Results
-

All tests done on Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Intel).

To test, I used the following steps:
0) Rename your LibO user profile folder, to make sure that
there is no influence of any special settings on the test.
1) Start LibreOffice;
   - the Start Center window appears.
2) Click on Text Document;
   - a new empty Writer document opens.
3) Type Text.
4) Select Text.

Now EITHER DO
5a) Select Format  Character... from the menu;
- the Character dialog window appears.
6a) Select tab Background;
- the Background tab with the color table appears.
7a) Click on Yellow.
8a) Click on the OK button.
9a) Repeat steps 5 to 9,
but this time, select No fill (transparent background).

OR DO
5b) Click on the Highlighting color toolbar button,
to show the popup color table,
6b) and select Yellow.
7b) Click on the Highlighting color toolbar button,
to show the popup color table,
8b) and select No fill.

In some previous LibreOffice versions, LibreOffice used to crash
after step 9a) or 8b) respectively, when Mac accessibility features
were enabled or some window management utility like RightZoom
(which relied on Mac accessibility features) was running.

But now I can NOT REPRODUCE the crash anyore with
* LibreOffice 3.6 daily (3.6.2.0+), Build ID: cfbfa26,
Pull time: 2012-09-07 10:35:10, German langpack installed
* LOdev 3.7.0.0.alpha0+, Build ID: 5ca197c,
Pull time: 2012-09-06 07:07:33, US English langpack installed

This indicates that this bug has been fixed somehow BEFORE the two
patches which fixed bug 47368 have been applied.

This means in turn that this bug is/was NOT a duplicate of bug 47368, which was
fixed by the two patches cited above.

Therefore I change the status of this bug to RESOLVED/WORKSFORME, as usual when
a bug is no longer reproducible but we don’t know which commit exactly has
fixed it.

(
A possible candidate which *could* have fixed this issue is
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=d5bbd67f675be962e294c24ee8b6ecccd1f341e8
but cf. my observations in:
  https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47368#c66
  https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47368#c68
)

@ Everybody:

Please reopen this bug report, IF and ONLY (!!!) if you can still reproduce
this bug more or less exactly by the steps listed above in a LibreOffice 3.6.x
version newer than 2012-09-07 or in a LibreOffice master (LOdev) version newer
than 2012-09-06.

If you encounter a similar issue, which is not exactly the same, please file a
NEW bug report for it (and CC me about it: b...@eikota.de), and describe
exactly: step by step, mouse click by mouse click, how to reproduce it.

Thank you!

Sorry for all these changes, but I keep learning ;-):

This report is *exactly* about the same issue as bug 44471 -- “FORMATTING:
Changing character background color causes HANG” --, it was even filed by the
same user, just that bug 44471 (the newer one) is in English, as required for
bugzilla.

Therefore I mark the present bug report as a duplicate of bug 44471.
Please do NOT reopen it.

For additional hints about the current state of this bug, please see my comment
no. 6 in bug 44471.

This is another non serious problem. It just means that cell attribute storage
and cond formats are not in sync. This will not result in a crash, it means
just that I have a place where I forgot to update the cell storage when
modifiying cond formats.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51898] Writer instead of russian show obscure characters in RTF document from Garant legal service

2012-09-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51898

--- Comment #10 from Mike Kaganski mikekagan...@hotmail.com 2012-09-15
11:56:59 UTC ---
It depends on Options-Languages-Locale setting. If it is set to Russian, then
the document is opened OK (regardless of Default language for documents:
Western setting). Otherwise, it shows garbage.

And this is despite this specific document (unlike, say, Bug 48023) has all and
every info that is needed to interpret it correctly: its \ansicpg control word
is set to 1251; \deflang and \deflangfe are 1049; and even the font name
contains Cyr (though this latter should not mean something special to the
parser).

This problem seems to be caused by the fact that this document is invalid in
that it contains the 8-bit characters. The standard requires that all not-7bit
text to be encoded either as \'xx or as unicode \uxxx. Still, the standard
requires reader software to be prepared to see 8-bit bytes (in binary blocks).

Seems like LO RTF importer only uses the RTF-defined locale settings when it
sees properly encoded non-7bit characters; every plain character is internally
converted to Unicode using the LO locale.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 54965] New: EDITING: Hide Paragaraph not working

2012-09-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54965

 Bug #: 54965
Summary: EDITING: Hide Paragaraph not working
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.6.1.2 release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Status Whiteboard: BSA
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: www.libreoffice@sjau.ch

Problem description:

Steps to reproduce:
1. Download the .odt at http://www.sjau.ch/BVorlage2011.odt
2. Enable Macros
3. Press then Fusszeile umschalten button

Current behavior:

The field next to Fusszeile anzeigen changes between JA and NEIN.

However in the footer, the paragraphs aren't hidden/shown when the value of the
above field changes.

This worked just fin e in 3.5.x and older versions. The other Buttons work with
conditional text. It's just the hide paragraph part that isn't working.

Expected behavior:

It should hide/show the footer paragraphs.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 54966] New: EDITING: Page number tooltip when scrolling should be removed

2012-09-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54966

 Bug #: 54966
Summary: EDITING: Page number tooltip when scrolling should be
removed
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: LibreOffice
   Version: 3.5.4 release
  Platform: Other
OS/Version: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Status Whiteboard: BSA
  Severity: normal
  Priority: medium
 Component: Writer
AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
ReportedBy: tarvera...@gmail.com

Problem description:
When scrolling using the mouse wheel or trackpad in a multi-page document, a
needless stupid flickering irritating tool-tip appears indicating the page
number. This is distracting, annoying, and serves no useful purpose. It should
be removed. This was first reported in OpenOffice nearly a decade ago.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open or create a multi-page document.
2. Scroll vertically using mouse wheel or track pad.
3. See THAT tooltip again, roll eyes.
4. Turn off all tooltips, or pick another word processor.
5. Come back in a few years, and be astounded that this still isn't fixed.
6. Iterate.

Current behavior:
Flickering and inconsistently located tooltip appears beside mouse pointer
showing page number. To turn it off, and make the software usable, it is
necessary to turn off ALL tooltips entirely. This greatly hinders usability
because hover-and-discover exploration of unfamiliar toolbars is also
suppressed.

Expected behavior:
No tooltip when scrolling using mouse wheel or touchpad. User should be able to
keep eyes focused on document and workflow, the whole page, not some intrusive,
unwanted, and seemingly impossible-to-get-rid-of distraction. Either a setting
should be added to switch off this particular tooltip independently of the
others, or it should just be removed. hard to believe anyone would miss it.

Platform (if different from the browser):

Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686) Chrome/21.0.1180.89

What is the benefit of removing this option? It is useful for advanced users
who need to understand or hack these xml files.

Hello Jean-Baptiste

As said, most developers prefer external tools to make the underlying XML
human-readable. Anyway the advanced user must also unzip the file...

Mac OS X Log file for bug 44471, LibreOffice 3.5.6.2

Mac Accessibility Related Bugs Survey Results
-

Supplement:
The steps given in comment #6 still crash LibreOffice 3.5.6.2 (Build-ID:
e0fbe70-dcba98b-297ab39-994e618-0f858f0) on Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Intel) with
RightZoom running to provoke the accessibility-related bugs.
Attached you find the log file created by Mac OS X for the crash.

But, as said above, they don’t crash anymore with LibreOffice = 3.6.1. This
confirms my statement (comment #6) that this bug has been fixed somehow BEFORE
the two patches which fixed bug 47368 have been applied, probably already in
the 3.6 development process.

You could ask to fix this bug also in the 3.5 branch where it is still
reproducible, but the chances are bad: we don’t know which commit(s) have fixed
the issue, therefore it is not possible to backport that commit(s).

Additionally, there is a workaround suitable for most users (disable any Mac
accessibility features and accessibility-related utilities).

Therefore, this bug will probably not get fixed in the LibreOffice 3.5 branch,
sorry. So please do NOT reopen this bug report just because this bug was not
fixed in LibreOffice 3.5.x ;-)

Basically, the internal components are heavily using local loop network.
Depending on the path the data is using, the latency may increase. Thus the
boot time actually depends on network configuration.

One thing I noticed these crashes seem to be more numerous after installing a
new version of LO seem to be less numerous after subsequent launches. When
installing new versions of LO on a Mac, I(most if not all) just copy the new
.app file to the Applications Folder launch with no consideration for the
currently installed support structure already in place. This may or may not be
a problem just an observation since I'm acting as a blind tester. (Please don't
make me look at the code!)

Mac Accessibility Related Bugs Survey Results
-

This report mentions explicitely two ways to crash LibreOffice on Mac OS when
“Enable access for assistance devices” is checked:

(A) “if you want to change preferences (vg language)”
(B) “if you […] use text fill empty”

(I can’t extrapolate what other ways are included in “or... various”, sorry ;-)

We have to deal with these two issues separately.

(A)
...
I do not know what “vg” means, but the mention of “language” is probably meant
as an example of the application “preferences” “you want to change”. So I take
this as a general report about Mac accessibility related LibreOffice crashes
which happen when you want to change some settings in the LibreOffice
applications Preferences/Options dialog window.

This in turn means that (A) is very probably the same problem as in
* bug 33359
* bug 46981
* bug 51712
* bug 52147
* bug 54282 and
* https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47368#c93, item (II).

As I have stated during my ongoing “Mac Accessibility Related Bugs Survey” in
most/all of these bugs, this crash has now been fixed by Michael Meek’s patch
for bug 47368:
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=3234b715b5a6d13ee673b41066eb565706be5ec9

(B)
...
This issue is most probably the same problem as in bug 44471 -- “FORMATTING:
Changing character background color causes HANG”. As I have stated now in bug
44471, this issue, while still reproducible with LibreOffice 3.5.6.2, is no
longer reproducible in LibreOffice = 3.6.1 and current master builds.
Therefore I have marked bug 44471 as RESOLVED/WORKSFORME.

Results
...

Given the fact that issue (B) is RESOLVED/WORKSFORME, like bug 44471, and issue
(A) was fixed by one of the patches applied in bug 47368, I would suggest that
the present bug is correctly marked as a duplicate of bug 47368.

The patch for bug 47368 mentioned above will appear in LibreOffice 3.6.2 and
3.7.0. This means that also issue (A) will be fixed in these versions, while
issue (B) is already fixed right now.

 :)
 I tried to do that
the preview is exactly as the catalog :(

I do know arabic alphabet but LibO-Math is designed to work as follows:
the code %alpha gives the lowercase greek letter alpha (α)
the code %ALPHA gives the upercase greek letter alpha (Α)
It works the same way in other languages with latin alphabet.

You can try to switch LibO to English UI, type your formula, save the file,
switch back to arabic UI and reopen your document. Then you will see how the
code is displayed in arabic UI.
