bugdoc with scale width set at 150%

Steps to reproduce:
1/ open a new empty Draw document
2/ from drawing toolbar, create a text box and type some text inside
3/ select the text and go to menu Format Character Position tab
4/ in scale width define something different from 100%, 150% for example
5/ You can see that the preview changes and shows a text with a larger width
6/ validate == nothing happens, the text looks the same as with scale 100%
7/ save your document
8/ open the document with LO 3.5.7 == it looks as expected.

This behavior can be observed in LO 3.6.4.3, LO 3.6.5.0+, LO 4.0beta1 and the
master (Version 4.1.0.0.alpha0+ (Build ID:
782c243045a1c7ee95b2d7ea6bca64812a9049e))

Additionally, in LO 4.0 beta1 and the master, scale width is under Rotation
instead of Scaling in the Position tab of the Character Format dialog.
I do not know if it is related.

Best regards. JBF

I confirm unattended installation with option
REMOVE=gm_r_ex_Dictionary_Sl has no effect on this dictionnary.
After setup, if we remove C:\Program Files\LibreOffice

the dictionary is deleted (it's not a solution, just a workaround)

--- Comment #27 from Alex Thurgood ipla...@yahoo.co.uk ---
@Jos : from my own experience with the PPAs, I can say that they often contain
some rather unfortunate packaging bugs, where the user can end up with things
not working as they ought to if you just downloaded the daily release builds
from the official LO site. Of course, it does mean that you don't get the
system integration that you are supposed to get with the Ubuntu PPAs, but I've
not found that to be a problem.

As for the version numbers I've given, they are from my own builds of the
master source repository, which I build on a 32bit Linux (KDE or Pear) and a
64bit Linux (Bodhi 2.0) as and when I have time (and the build actually
completes, which is not always at the moment, depending on the switches you
choose at build time). All of these distros rely on the basic Ubuntu
repositories for the developer software needed to build LO, so it is something
you could do yourself if you wanted to, it just takes quite a lot of time, and
the occasional sense of frustration when the build fails for some seemingly
trivial change from one day to the next.

I have a document with tables which show the date of the week which gets
calculated by the page number. This does work fine as long as the page is not
printed.
As soon as the page is printed or exported as pdf every entry shows the same
date.

I have attached an example document. Just click in one of the date fields and
they get updated in the whole document. If you now export it as a pdf or print
it all week entries show the same date.

I have created a patch which does fix the issue but I am not sure if it is the
right one since it does basically prevent the default part from running in this
case. So it might just hide an underlying issue but I also don't know why
something should be marked as Modified with a non-existing element.

Like I have mentioned the date field has to be clicked at after loading the
document otherwise all also show the same date. With my patch they get also
updated by just printing/exporting the document.

Anyway I hadn't the time to look further into this.

Confirmed comment #31 - saving macros to .xls / .doc and the 'x' versions is a
research level task: in fact we have some code that does this - but it's not
enabled (yet) for various reasons - it needs some hard-core testing and more
thought.

So - altering this one to reflect the more tractable autosave issue.

[Reproducible] with LibreOffice 3.6.4.3 German UI/ German Locale [Build-ID:
2ef5aff] {pull date 2012-11-28} on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit). Tricky
thing, and really FILESAVE/FILEOPEN. The problem is the style Heading 2, what
should have space above/below, but does not have after save / reopen

I will need some moments to think about that. Might have to do with Style +
local formatting of paragraph? Can someone create a sample from the scratch ?

1. Document opens fine with 3.6.4.3
2. Filesave as test3643, close and reopen:
Bug: Yellow background headings at wrong place
The prorlem is the style Heading 2, what should have spacee above/below,
but does not have after save / reopen (check in styles and format paragraph)
3. Close document and open with LibO 333
Now all is it it's correct place, and headings have correct space
above/below

Only for the sake of completeness: different to words in original report the
picture is at the correct place (it's anchored to page), but the yellow
background headings are at the wrong vertical position (at least for me with
WIN).

@eymux
We need some explications concerning lhm-limux.
- Who might add that whiteboard key word?
- What consequences should it
  - who should take
  - special Proceeding for QA / devs?
  - anything else?

It could be great if you could complete our hints on

Julien - the trace is useful, but unfortunately ~anyone could be throwing the
exception that is not handled :-) we caught a trace only for the catch.

Is there any chance you can put a breakpoint in before the menu item is invoked
just before:

/home/julien/compile-libreoffice/libo_3_6/framework/source/uielement/menubarmanager.cxx:1154

And then do a:

catch throw

in gdb - and continue - so we can get a stack-trace for the guy that throws
this exception - then (I hope) the fix becomes obvious. Sadly I can't repeat it
here.

Thanks !

You are having a problem that is specific to some packages for Ubuntu of
LibreOffice. As these packages are not created by the LibreOffice project, and
the problems you encounter doesn't come from our code, but from changes done by
the packagers, or how the code is packaged, it is out of our control and there
is nothing we can do about it. You need to talk to the supplier of the
packages.

If you wish to use directly the packages created by the LibreOffice project,
they can be found on:

 - latest stable release versions: http://www.libreoffice.org/download/
(click on Change System, Version or Language for other versions, e.g.
the last 3.5.x line minor update version)

   See http://www.libreoffice.org/download/release-policy/ for an
   explanation about that.

 - pre-release versions: http://www.libreoffice.org/download/pre-releases/

(There are also daily developer snapshots meant for the brave early testers and
contributors, but I assume that this is not what you want.)

These packages might not be as tightly integrated in your general OS as the
OS-provided packages, but they are straight from the LibreOffice project
without any alteration. We are usually responsible for any problem in them :)

As to non-LibreOffice project repackagings of the LibreOffice application:

Launchpad bug no 992232 is about the fact that report builder is REMOVED from
the Ubuntu packages of LibreOffice. That's Ubuntu's decision, for their own
internal reasons that the LibreOffice project cannot directly control. You need
to take that up with Ubuntu themselves.

As to the pre-release PPA, you need to speak to the people that did it; if it
is Ubuntu/Canonical then them, if it is a third-party contributor then that
contributor.

LO 4.0.0.0b1 fails to open this RTF, wrong formating in erlier LO versions

I've installed LibreOffice 4.0.0.0beta 1 version on Windows 7 64bit (Polish) to
check some RTF files that were opened with with a lot of formating issues in
erlier LibreOffice versions (LO 3.4.x, LO 3.5.x and LO 3.6.x).

To my surprise new LO Writer 4.0.0.0beta1 doesn't open such RTF files at all!

I've added an example RTF file as an attachment to verify this. Unfortunatelly,
I'm not the one who created this file. I suppose it was created with a Russian
version of MS Office.

It was used as a template in the company with various LO versions. Erlier
versions of LO (before 4.0.0.0 beta 1) can always open this file, but everytime
there were some formating issues with it, so I marked this bug as a regression.

Choose one, click OK, you'll have to restart LibreOffice for it to be taken

 On my ubuntu-natty (11.04) 32-bit,
I timed how long it took to move to the last row of attachment 63257
 [details]
in two local builds from master:

 (*) commit bd9c451, fetched 2012-12-04 around 17:20 UCT, lacks
Lionel's patch, and it took 335 seconds to move to the last row.

 (*) commit 8450a99, fetched 2012-12-08 around 02:10 UTC, includes
Lionel's patch, and it took 465 seconds to move the last row.

Ow. Your test says it is actually *slower* now. Darn. That's dispiriting.

Phil - you would need to create a build for the Mac with debugging symbols
included: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/How_to_build has some
details on that - you'd want to add --enable-symbols to your ./autogen.sh line
I guess. Without a good trace with symbols, and without someone with a symbol
build reproducing it life is rather difficult.

It'd be a -really- useful contribution if you could get that trace !

Thanks.

in a --disable-gnome-vfs ucpgvfs1.uno.so would not exist and neither would the

but with --enable-gnome-vfs it's possible that the library can't be loaded
because the dependencies don't exist on the system.

also, this is not a Writer bug.

I've the same problem of MagicBytes on Linux with version 3.5.4.2

Ok, this is not a bug.

But why?

I mean, if i select 4 cells, why the default behavior is to sort only 3?

Why do I need to select one extra cells or to change an 'hidden' setting in
menu?

Why have I select this options every time, since it's not remember?

Pls consider also that the icon for sorting in toolbar doesn't provide any
setting, so it always sorty for n-1 cells

If i want to sort n rows, why do I have to select n+1?

thanks

When I click away to another part of the document it re-appears.

I have opened a new blank document and its the same problem.

I can confirm this issue is still present in LibreOffice 3.6.2.2.

Using lsof, it's clear that when a file is open using LibreOffice - there is no
lock on the file (it's open with read/write access - but NO locks!).
When the file is written to (during saving procedure), the file keeps the
write-lock on the file.

This major regression is still keeping companies away from using LibreOffice in
a multiuser environment.
We're still stuck with version 3.0 till this issue is fixed :(

In writer, I open a document. I open the print dialog. Instead of seeing all my

having it for ages (I think since 3.4.x). The second print job (or after

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 35146] copy-paste from InkScape pastes text instead of image on Linux

2012-12-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35146

--- Comment #8 from Philippe beton.10.pjo...@neverbox.com ---
I confirm that I have been seeing this bugs for many years in Ubuntu.

I've done a little bit more investigation, if that can help locating the
problem:

It seems this is a linux-specific bug. (According to that report
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48889 graphics are indeed pasted
in windows).

Also it's not an Inkscape-specific bug. Same text-pasting problem with
MarvinSketch (see https://www.chemaxon.com/forum/ftopic8927.html).

Ok, one could think LO is just picking the wrong clipboard format.
Unfortunately Paste-Special is not an option: the list is empty.

Using a little python script I could take a look at what Mime types Inkscape
advertises on the clipboard; it says:

['TIMESTAMP', 'TARGETS', 'MULTIPLE', 'image/x-inkscape-svg', 'image/svg+xml',
'image/x-inkscape-svg-compressed', 'image/svg+xml-compressed', 'text/plain',
'application/pdf', 'image/png', 'image/x-postscript', 'image/x-e-postscript',
'text/x-povray-script', 'text/x-javafx-script', 'text/x-tex',
'application/x-wmf', 'image/hpgl', 'image/dxf', 'text/xml+xaml',
'application/x-xsk1', 'application/x-zip', 'image/x-plt', 'application/x-xcf',
'application/x-qt-image']

So it's a mystery why there is not a single Paste-Special possibility. And
moreover these other formats actually exist since in wine-powerpoint a bitmap
gets pasted when I do ctrl-V.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 58080] printing failed assertion

I sometimes (but not always) get the warning

warn:legacy.tools:29306:1:/home/master/src/libreoffice/workdirs/libreoffice-4.0/vcl/unx/generic/printer/printerinfomanager.cxx:648:
Do not ask for info about nonexistent printers

without a crash. My hunch was that it was linked to the failed assertion, but
now I see not necessarily.

Please, tell which functionality in this Macro should be implemented and which
problem should be solved. And I will create final version of this Macro.

--- Comment #4 from Pinco Pallino gegio...@hotmail.com ---
This bug is still present in Lib0 3.6.4.3.

I found a workaround however (at least for Linux) if it can be helpful to
someone.
I renamed /opt/libreoffice3.6/program/python-core-2.6.1/lib/ to
/opt/libreoffice3.6/program/python-core-2.6.1/brokenlib/ to disable it.

I then made a soft link from the normal python libraries which are preinstalled
in my (I think all) distribution, /usr/lib/python2.6/, to
/opt/libreoffice3.6/program/python-core-2.6.1/ and renamed it lib.

The extension gnuc2ooo.oxt now works well. It looks like it is a problem with
the python packaged with L.Office rather than L.Office itself. I wonder why
they are packaging a broken python.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 58082] New: Copy tables from Calc to Writer

2012-12-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58082

  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: rusbear...@list.ru
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.0.0.beta1
 Component: Libreoffice
   Product: LibreOffice

I created a table in Calc that consists of 150 rows and 7 columns.

I want to copy it into Writer (later i will add in the document some pages with
text before this table and after it).

What should I do for this?

1. I select my table in Calc and press Ctrl+C.
2. I create new empty document in Writer and press there Ctrl+V.
3. Writer asks me This document was last saved by application other than
LibreOffice. (but i haven't saved it yet). Some formula cells may produce
different results when recalculated. Do you want to recalculate all formula
cells in this document now?.
- let it be so, I press OK.
4. Now I have a big table with very small letters fitted on a page.

What should I do next to see my table fitted into several pages in normal
format?

I believe I have had this problem since installing OpenOffice.org 3.4 (I have
3.4.1 installed). I installed LibreOffice 3.6 (3.6.4.3) without uninstalling
OOo.

I have rebuilt search, also ticking Always search file names and contents in
ExplorerOrganizeFolder and Search OptionsSearch.

Agent Ransack will search inside ODS and ODT just fine (though it would not
when I installed the Microsoft Office Filter Pack until I uninstalled it and
repaired LibreOffice).

But Windows Search still finds nothing. I'm on Windows 7 Home Premium, which
is a 64-bit system.

By searching through the registry I have confirmed that the IFilter in use is
the LibreOffice 64 bit one.

--- Comment #5 from László Németh nem...@numbertext.org ---
Hello Thomas,

Using LibreLogo 0.2 beta can solve this registration problem in LO 3.6.3 (this
is a little bit older version without the problematic “dummy” component):

http://www.numbertext.org/logo/librelogo-0.2b/librelogo-0.2.oxt

You are right, Logo translation had an optional status. Now it seems, LibreLogo
will be a new feature in LibreOffice, but the translation is not an urgent
task. Without translation the English commands will work in non-English
documents, too, also this special translation task may need more time to choose
the best alternative(s). I haven't written to the list, yet, but I will post it
to you, too. Thanks, and best regards, László

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 58091] New: Windows 8, High Memory (RAM) Usage, Above 600MB (~700MB), When COPYING Unicode text in LibreOffice Writer, QuickStarter

2012-12-10 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58091

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 58091
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Windows 8, High Memory (RAM) Usage, Above 600MB
(~700MB), When COPYING Unicode text in LibreOffice
Writer, QuickStarter
  Severity: major
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: its...@gmail.com
  Hardware: x86 (IA32)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.4.3 release
 Component: Libreoffice
   Product: LibreOffice

I'm using LibreOffice from its launch. Even was using OpenOffice from a long
time.

I recently upgrade my laptop's operating system to Windows 8 Pro. But i'm
facing a big problem with LibreOffice. I was expecting, that it may get fixed
in the next version of LibreOffice. But, i see it still exists in version 3.6.4
also. So, i decide to report this bug here. Here is the situation:

Platform :

* Windows 8 Pro 32bit, x86
* LibreOffice v3.6.4.3

Problem :

* High memory usage (RAM)
* Above 600MB (~700MB)

Frequency :

* Sometimes while using WRITER.
* Sometimes while QuickStarter running.

Contents :

* Encoding - Unicode (Gurmukhi, Punjabi, PA)
* File - MS Office .doc document

Event (When) :

* While QuickStarter stay in the tray for some time after boot the system.
* When apply copy command to copy Unicode (PA) text from the .DOC document.

I'm not a system programmer. So, don't know how to capture technical debug
information for this problem. I hope, somebody may take a look on this.

Don't know how to install debug symbols for this beta (though their were

Similar problems with reporter's sample with AOOo 3.4.1

Looks even worse in “Lotus Symphony Release 3.0.1 Revision 20120110.2000” on
German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit)

I failed (like reporter) to created a document showing the problems from the
scratch.

Cyclone and Officeotron Validator rates the document as INVALID

@eymux:
Until proof of the opposite I am tending to handle this one as a problem with a

Newly created valid document, everything works fine

for Master Branch.

And I have a Grand Unifying Theory: Attachment 66768 for Bug 54627 simply is a
damaged Document, even the reporter failed to reproduce this problem with a new
document.

Of course I am a little concerned that the problem is not visible with 3.3.3,
but it would not be the first document with very long history containing a
damage what was invisible for years and suddenly becomes visible after a fix.

It took only 2 minutes to create a new document, so I currently think we should
save our time for REAL bugs.

Of course, if reporter can contribute some evidence that there really is a bug
in LibO ...

I discovered this error when creating letter through the wizard.

After creating the letter, editing to insert text, especially a copy-and-paste
operation from some other document or web site, for example, results in
incorrect character spacing at the point where the insertion occurred.

I also observe that character spacing within a line where a word might be
capitalized can also display this error. (e.g., trustees under The Mead
Family Trust, as an indented line will print as trustees under TheMead Family
Trust,.

Although the GUI presentation has the correct appearance, both printed and
save as PDF versions of the document have incorrect spacing - usually
observed with words run together.
