@Julien:
Thank you for the hint. In Bug 58069 I explicitly excluded Writer, and that one
is concerning saving documents in different folders; this one only concerning
some general editing.

I doubt that both reports are concerning the same problem.
Reporter's description is much too imprecise even to see whether we really have
a bug here or whether reporter only misunderstands the hyperlink viewing in
LibO

@Blake:
Thank you for your report – unfortunately important information is missing.
May be hints on http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport will help you to
find out what information will be useful to reproduce your problem? If you
believe that that is really sophisticated please as for Help on a user mailing
list
Please:
- Write a meaningful Summary describing exactly what the problem is
- Attach a sample document (not only screenshot) or refer to an existing
sample document in an other Bug with a link; to attach a file to this
bug report, just click on Add an attachment right on this page.
- Attach screenshots with comments if you believe that that might explain the
problem better than a text comment. Best way is to insert your screenshots
into a DRAW document and to add comments that explain what you want to show
  (attachment 68877, attachment 68490)
- Contribute a document related step by step instruction containing every
key press and every mouse click how to reproduce your problem
(similar to example in Bug 43431)
– if possible contribute an instruction how to create a sample document
  from the scratch
- add information
  -- what EXACTLY is unexpected
Libreoffice changes ... is nothing we can try to reproduce. We need
a clear description like In HTML soucre text before ... i see ,
but after ... I see yyy
-- and WHY do you believe it's unexpected (cite Help or Documentation!)
–- Libo settings that might be related to your problems
(Menu 'Tools - Options - Load/Save)
-- how you launch LibO and how you opened the sample document
-- everything else crossing your mind after you read linked texts

Thanks for your time filling this form!

Is it possible to add your created document also as an attachment? Not all
testers have an iOS-'machine', and especially not an app (Pages).

What was the content of the document shown in thz screenshots?
Is this bug also reproducable with an easy document with only a word/text
withoutmarkup?

Thanks in advance

Hi simon,

I have tested your doc and i see that in page 5, there is some texte behind
right margins ??
This text could be restored to a new page if I place my cursor on the top of it
and force a new page.

After that I have a page 6 that contains this text.
I see that page format in page 5 was page-vis-a-vis behind the tray selector.
I have changed it to left-to-right for page 5-6.

Can you check this new document 71538 just sended before ?
and let you know if the problem is solved ?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 58327] New: Pasting special some cells As RTF from Calc into Writer does not work

2012-12-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58327

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 58327
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Pasting special some cells As RTF from Calc into
Writer does not work
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Mac OS X (All)
  Reporter: b...@eikota.de
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.0.0.beta1
 Component: Libreoffice
   Product: LibreOffice

This is some kind of follow-up to bug 43869 - “Paste special as RTF inserted at
wrong position, undo stack damaged”.

I wanted to verify that bug 43869 is completely fixed, without any unwanted
side-effects. However, when I repeat Rainer’s steps from
  https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=43869#c2
with the current 4.0.0beta1 [1], I still do not get not what one would expect:

 1. Start LibO
 Start Center appears
 2. Open new Calc document with click on New Spreadsheet
 3. fill 'A1:A5' with a
 4. Select / Highlicht A1:A5
 5. control+c for Copy
 6. Menu 'File - New - WRITER document'
 7. Click into new Writer document, type 5 times enter, then xxx
 8. 2 times arrowup
 9. Long click on Paste toolbar icon
 10. select As RTF'
 Expected: 5 rows a inserted
Actual: xxx deleted as reported, some things else (very quick)

I still see a problem: *nothing* is pasted (no “5 rows ‘a’ inserted).
Of course, this is a big progress as compared to bug 43869 -- the “xxx” are not
deleted, the page format is not changed, and the undo stack is not damaged.
But pasting “As RTF” still does not work ...

Of course, this is very probably a different bug, therefore I have opened this
new bug report (instead of opening bug 43869 again).

Tests done on Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Intel).

Hi Christian,

I have reproduced this too with my config. To restore language, can you start
this printer admin in Libo folder program :
/opt/lodev4.0/program/spadmin
for me

In property of your printer, you should be able to select the correct behaviour
of language. And then settings will be permanent.

nb: you should perhaps (check or not) CUPS settings on the first page of this
program (me it's not checked).

Can you test this and let us know if this resolve your problem ?

-fno-enforce-eh-specs) and then try to reproduce the problem; if you get the
same stack then one of 1) 2) 3) is happening, while if you get terminate
directly in LO code then it is 4)

But who can do this? I can’t, sorry ;-( So CCing some people who can (IIRC)
build LibO with --enable-dbgutil on Mac OS X ...

@ Tor Lillqvist,
@ Alex Thurgood,
@ Norbert Thiebaud,
@ all:
Can anyone of you build LibO on Mac OS X with --enable-dbgutil enabled,
and do the check proposed by Michael Stahl?

Seems that we can not get any progress here without such a test,
so any help would be very much appreciated ...
and this issue is important, of course (the Duden plugin is one of the most
important commercial extensions for LibreOffice/OOo).

Thank you very much!

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 58329] New: Using the GTK Unicode entry shortcut (ctrl+shift+u) does not function properly

2012-12-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58329

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 58329
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Using the GTK Unicode entry shortcut (ctrl+shift+u)
does not function properly
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: samuel.stu...@gmail.com
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.4.3 release
 Component: Libreoffice
   Product: LibreOffice

Typically, one would hit the shortcut, release all keys in the shortcut, and
then proceed to type the Unicode hexadecimal pointer and then press either
space or return for the sequence to be converted into the specified character.
This bug, however, causes a problem, such that, if the user does not continue
holding the control and the shift keys while typing the hexadecimal pointer,
the underlined u indicating Unicode entry becomes a plain-text u, and the
Unicode entry is stopped.

My locale variables are all correctly set for en_US.UTF-8. I am running the
most recent versions of LibreOffice and the OpenJDK. I have allowed libreoffice
to generate a new .config directory to see if some config file had been the
cause of the issue, but it persists. I only have four extensions installed, and
it appears as though the bug remains even after having disabled them all.

Of all my gtk applications, LibreOffice (all components) is the only one to
exhibit this behavior I have found so far.

Thank you very much for your bug report!

REPRODUCIBLE with 4.0.0beta1 [*], German langpack installed, on Mac OS X 10.6.8
(Intel). Following the steps 1-6 given in comment #0,
* Expected: LibreOffice shows a new line in the “Existing versions”
list box, just like LibreOffice up to 3.6.4.3 does
* Actual result: the “Existing versions” list box is still empty.
Repeating steps 4-6 does not change this.

Of course, LibreOffice 4.0.0beta1 still shows the versions created in earlier
versions. But adding new versions to such existing files does not work either.

(Removed triple “regression” keyword -- one is enought ;-); and the most
important is the one in the “Keywords” field.)

--- Comment #14 from Michael Meeks michael.me...@novell.com ---
The valgrind traces are brilliant - I guess they show that we're
double-deleting a load of data (for some reason) after the false-positives from
Java this one looks like the first sign of real badness with a quick scan:

==7216== Invalid write of size 8

I guess it is another symptom of VCL's horrific lack of sane lifecycle handling
(somehow) - that this SlideSorter object -looks- like it keeps references to
VCL widgets with some naive: ::boost::shared_ptrScrollBar
mpVerticalScrollBar;

It's unclear to me that those guys are going to get NULL'd properly when some
other code-path destroys the whole window hierarchy and makes those pointer
invalid.

Somehow we need to add a 'dispose' method to the SlideSorter (I guess) and
ensure that the top-level impress window is calling dispose on it's child
SlideSorter object, and that that is called first (I guess).

What a horror :-) and all because VCL doesn't use a sane reference-counting
lifecycle model.

Thank you very much for your bug report!

Well, I can not reproduce this problem -- for me (on Mac OS X 10.6.8), the
steps work perfectly fine in LibreOffice 4.0.0beta1. But this bug is very
similar to bug 56937 - “EDITING: freeze when drag-and-drop from Calc input line
to anywhere on OSX”. Now bug 56937, like some similar issues, happens if and
only if you have installed some utility etc. which uses and activates the Mac
OS X accessibility API. So this could be true for this (present) bug, too.

We have some long-standing bugs in LibreOffice accessibility stuff which were
inherited from OpenOffice and which become visible only when the Mac OS
Accessibility API is used (see the comments in bug 55571 etc.) ... and it seems
that your report is just about another one of these nasty issues.

Therefore, to confirm this idea and to find out what exactly triggers
the bug, please check and answer the following questions:

1) Do you have any accesibility features enabled? Apple’s accessibility
features like “VoiceOver” or “Enable access for assistive devices”, which get
enabled in “System Preferences Universal Access” (in German:
“Systemeinstellungen Bedienungshilfen”), are known to trigger many crashes
and freezes in LibreOffice. So please try to disable any accesibility features,
then check if the problem is still reproducible.

2) Do you have installed any window management/user interface
utilities/apps/control panels/extensions for Mac OS X like
   * AquaSnap* BetterSnapTool
   * BetterTouchTool * Breeze
   * Cinch   * Divvy
   * DoublePane  * Flexiglass
   * HyperDock   * iSnap
   * Moom* RightZoom
   * ShiftIt * SizeUp
   * SizeWell* Spectacle
   * Stay* TileWindows
   * WindowTidy... or something similar?

And/or do you use any mouse cursor/pointer utility, i.e. some little
application or control panel etc. which animates or replaces etc. the mouse
curser/pointer, like
   * LazyMouse?

And/or do you use any special software which could be related to accessibility
stuff, e.g. a screen reader, screen magnifier, speech recognition software,
a text-to-speech (dictation) application, or similar?

All these and many similar utilities rely heavily on Mac OS accessibility
features and therefore can cause LibreOffice to crash or freeze. So please
check if you have installed any utility of this kind and try to disable it
(or to add LibreOffice to the list of excluded applications for the utility,
if there is such a thing).

And please report the results here. Thank you very much!

Also REPRODUCIBLE on Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Intel) with 4.0.0.0beta1.

But IMHO this problem is not limited to Base -- I see the same wrong menu
entries also in the File menus of Writer and Calc. I will attach screenshot

about ;-).

Hint: This bug is *not* related to any corrupted local settings, etc. --
resetting both the “LibreOffice” and the “LOdev user profile before testing
does not change the results.

Urmas, I do not believe that matters. This shortcut has worked as intended in
every version of LibreOffice up to this point. The fact that it no longer works
now, but the shortcut does work in GTK applications would suggest a change has
taken place up-stream in LO that causes this dysfunction.

I don't wish to go against the grain here, but I feel like marking this as
solved isn't accurate.

In bug 58332, which I have marked as a duplicate of the present one, Christoph
Sold analyzes this issue as following:

The Help text for Menu items
   File - Save all
 and

appears as menu item, rendering the menu wider than most screens.

The idea that the wrong menu entries are just the help text strings seems
compelling to me. Therefore I modify the Summary field accordingly.

Screenshot: Correct (?) menu File - LOdev build dated 2012-11-15

However, I am not sure if the two long menu entries visible now in the File
menu are really the help texts for “File - Save all” and “File - Check out”;
the texts visible on my two screenshots don’t fit as help texts for Save All
...

This screenshot shows one of the last daily builds before the problem first
appeared; it is dated from 2012-11-5. It shows some new entries in the File
menu:
after “Save All”, we read
  Check-Out
  Cancel Check-Out...
  Check-In...

So I would guess that the two long and wrong menu entries are the help texts
for “Check-Out” and “Check-In...”, and are show in error in the place of these
two menu entries.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 57465] : Calc sorts columns incorrectly

2012-12-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57465

I'v tried LOdev 4.0.

The same problem applies there as well. However, resorting immediately after
the first sort produces the correct results.

I can confirm that this happens. The crash occurs when changing the size of the
box/object while using the drag to re-size option. If I change the size using
the properties list (i.e. enter 2.00) the box will change without fail. I do
not have to paste anything into the report. Simply changing the size of the
object causes a complete crash.

The bug is evident in all of bibisect 3.6 latest, 3.6 oldest, 3.5
latest, and 3.5 oldest when I saved the document as MS Word 2007/2010
XML (.docx).

Along the way, I accidentally saved once as--I think--Office Open XML
Text (.docx). The result was different: Table heading changed to
Table of Objects and there was no grey line, but the table was still
empty.

HTH,
Terry.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 58334] New: Make it easier to choose custom colours

2012-12-15 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=58334

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 58334
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Make it easier to choose custom colours
  Severity: enhancement
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Mac OS X (All)
  Reporter: baksky...@gmail.com
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.4.3 release
 Component: UI
   Product: LibreOffice

Libreoffice lets you change (font, background, ...) colour directly using the
buttons in the toolbar or via the context menu. However, you can only choose
one of the predefined colours. Choosing a custom colour in Libre Office is far
too complicated: The desired colour has to be added to the colour table in the
settings menu before it can be used.

Please improve/simplify colour handling in Libre Office and let users choose
custom colours directly from the toolbar buttons.

sorry was to soon with my reply. This isn't solved.

Now the regression-version needs to be older then the version. That's been
changed this week. But what you describe isn't.

But it could be a good improvement, and easy to implement.
