https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=46410 --- Comment #21 from David write2da...@gmail.com --- Same here, regarding the procedure in the original report. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51404 --- Comment #6 from Lionel Elie Mamane lio...@mamane.lu --- (In reply to comment #4) Is someone can work (...) tell me where the parser file is in the source code of Libre Office ? The lexer/parser is in connectivity/source/parse, files sqlflex.l and sqlbison.y I'll gladly review and apply your patch. Thanks in advance! After making the parser able to dynamically add new keywords, we would have to initialise the list of accepted keywords. When connecting through an ODBC driver we should initialise with: SQLGetInfo(,SQL_KEYWORDS,,,) AND the value of SQL_ODBC_KEYWORDS (see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ms711681(v=vs.85).aspx ) I presume JDBC has a similar API call to get the datasource-specific keywords. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34411 --- Comment #7 from Stephan Bergmann sberg...@redhat.com --- (In reply to comment #5) If you plug in an external path to the v2 hsqldb.jar, the internal Base/hsqldb combo then stops working altogether :-/ with the error message you indicated. Adding an additional instance of hsqldb.jar to the JVM classpath is a very crude mechanism, as any attempt at loading a class with a name that is present in both hsqldb.jar instances will necessarily load the class version from the additional hsqldb.jar. Without looking at the code in question, this is likely to cause any kind of confusion. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57417 --- Comment #9 from DavidO d.ostrov...@gmx.de --- (In reply to comment #8) (In reply to comment #7) (In reply to comment #4) Yes, the choice is there in the list of Address Book datasources via the Address Book wizard, but not in datasources in general, i.e. not in the Database Creation wizard. If you choose LDAP as an address book datasource, you are taken to a dialog asking for a URL and an ID field. Leaving them blank and confirming leads to a failed driver load error. Ah, I see. The choice should definitely be removed/hidden from the wizard then. Caolan told once that in gnome there is another LDAP connector implementation available and ReadHat supports it. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51781 --- Comment #8 from Mathias Hasselmann mathias.hasselm...@gmx.de --- As one of the reasons for ruling out SQLite was its dynamic typing I want to point out that SQLite actually supports type constraints: http://www.sqlite.org/lang_createtable.html#ckconst So by adding CHECK() constraints one actually can ensure that columns only contain data that matches the declared type. The other reason I find in bug 36824 were the embarrassing stunts apparently needed for date-time operations. One would work arround the demonstrated issues by assigning a date-time aware collation to date-time columns: http://www.sqlite.org/datatype3.html#collation I also want to point out that SQLite has the huge advantage of being deployed already on a wide range of platforms. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51781] Select a good replacement for embedded HSQLDB 1.8
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51781 --- Comment #9 from Lionel Elie Mamane lio...@mamane.lu --- (In reply to comment #8) As one of the reasons for ruling out SQLite was its dynamic typing I want to point out that SQLite actually supports type constraints: http://www.sqlite.org/lang_createtable.html#ckconst So by adding CHECK() constraints one actually can ensure that columns only contain data that matches the declared type. It is out of the question to require users to add check constraints manually. As to adding them automatically, it would be a significant deviation of the behaviour with SQLite (add the CHECK clauses) and with another datasource (don't add the CHECK clauses); the least we have to special-case, the better. Especially since this add CHECK clauses would be rather difficult to do at the driver level (rather than adding SQLite-specific hacks to the part of LibO that is supposed to be datasource-agnostic, and which constructs SQL statements to be executed); the driver gets an SQL string, so if it wants to fiddle with it, then it has to parse it. If we can use SQLite's parser (can we? is there an API call to get a parse tree from an SQL string?), then maybe OK. Or using LibO's parser... after all it wouldn't be so bad that the embedded DB can only do what LibO's parser can understand. Another thing I dislike about SQLite is that it does not support RIGHT JOIN, as per http://www.sqlite.org/syntaxdiagrams.html#join-op . That's often theoretically not a problem (just switch the arguments and do a LEFT JOIN), but again that's a fixup of SQL string to comply to SQLite restrictions we'd have to do. The more of these things we have to do, the more fragile the whole edifice becomes. Also, it conflicts with the fix for bug 42165. Yes, SQLite supports nested/bracketed joins, so we can theoretically not force left-recursion when connecting to SQLite, but *again* a thing we need to do different for SQLite than for all other datasources. The other reason I find in bug 36824 were the embarrassing stunts apparently needed for date-time operations. One would work arround the demonstrated issues by assigning a date-time aware collation to date-time columns: http://www.sqlite.org/datatype3.html#collation The documentation does not speak of datetime collation, so you mean we have to write it ourselves? You are just making the point that SQLite is a storage engine that one can possibly BUILD UPON to make an ISO SQL database, but it is not there. I don't think that a datetime collation will fix all the issues, for example of non-comparison operators doing the right thing. What about: CREATE TEMPORARY TABLE tst (num INTEGER NOT NULL, d DATE, PRIMARY KEY (num)); INSERT INTO tst VALUES (1, '1970-03-01'); INSERT INTO tst VALUES (2, '1970-03-31'); SELECT num, d+1 AS dp1 FROM tst; This should give: 1 | 1970-03-02 2 | 1970-04-01 Will it? Don't think so. Right now (so without the putative datetime collation) it gives: 1 | 1971 2 | 1971 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=59346 --- Comment #3 from mike.h...@onepoyle.net --- Thanks for a speedy response. My view is that if conditional formatting cannot be correctly saved to a format, the user should get an error message and LO should refuse to save the object, ie the 2003 XML behaviour applied to .xls. That would have saved me days of work and will help others too. It still seems to me there must be a bug in OO XML and 2007/2010 XML FILESAVE. Save from .ods and reopen in LO (NB LO not Excel) - conditional formatting is broken as per my example. If I save my example from .ods to .uos, close and reopen in LO, all I get is a completely blank sheet. That looks like a stopper to me, complete data loss. It's very helpful to know that Excel 2013 is needed to successfully open OO XML or 2007/2010 with conditional formatting (if I have interpreted your comments correctly). My users probably don't have that though! I have no idea what you mean by startsWith format. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 56709] UI: Cell formatting dialog shows characters as squares for some languages
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56709 --- Comment #13 from Joren De Cuyper joren.libreoff...@telenet.be --- (In reply to comment #12) Seeing Windows 7 being mentioned, there was a Windows 7 update somewhen in Q4 of last year that rendered a portion of fonts unusable, maybe Korrawit and Joren are victims of that. Search the net for Windows update KB2753842. I'll look at it when I'm back on my Windows OS (=dualboot with Mac OSX) ... but the problem with my versions is maybe related to the fact I haven't installed 'Thai' as a sytem language/font ... I don't use it :-) (I'm Belgian, ... so the only languages are installed is English and Dutch (as far I certainly know)... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

So a warning when only a year is done since last update is a bad choice for home users. Some samples of well mature extensions: Catalan dictionary:http://extensions.libreoffice.org/extension-center/catalan-spellcheck-dictionary Slovenina dictionary: http://extensions.libreoffice.org/extension-center/slovenian-dictionary-pack Such extensions must be allowed to have a long term (3 years?) before the warning is showed. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
