[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 60828] New: FORMATTING: Conditional formatting copied unwillingly

2013-02-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 60828

Summary: FORMATTING: Conditional formatting copied unwillingly
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: bobvanderkla...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.0.3 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:
When there's a set of data with conditional formatting, this formatting is
coppied to a new column when inserting one. This conditional formatting doesn't
show up in de manage conditional formatting-window.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Apply conditional formatting
2. Insert a column after
3. Set data conforming to the conditions of the formatting

Current behavior:
The data takes over the formatting of the previous column, but doesn't show up
in the conditional formatting manager. Changing the range to include and then
exclude the new column doesn't change anything. Clearing direct formatting
does, but also clears all other formatting.

Expected behavior:
First I would prefer that the new inserted cells do not take over the
formatting without a notice. I would like to be albe to select what type of
formatting is to be transferred to the new cell(s), but that's just a
preference, not a bug. I then would expect the conditional formatting manager
to update to the new data set and correct it there.

--- Comment #6 from Rainer Bielefeld libreoff...@bielefeldundbuss.de ---
In all other LibO applications (I checked Writer and DRAW) Find and replace
works as follows:
a) Find jumps to next hit and highlights it
b) Replace replaces highlighted contents
c) after it automatically next hit will be found and highligted

Only in Calc for step c you have to click Find again for next hit

May be there are some reasons for the current different behavior because that
never worked different (I checked back until OOo 1.1.5)?

Low priority because of bug age and unclear reasons

If devs agree that this really would be an improvement: Fix should not be too
difficult

Hi,

I have a similar problem than Vulcain.
I use LibreOffice 4.0.1.0+ (Build ID: a5acd33bc54cbc00f2194c923641fbd0ab45d80)
My problem doesn't exist with LibreOffice 3.6
I have created a slide with 2 blocks (text).
The first text is not animated.
The second one is animated with the animation Apparition after mouse click.
When I start the display of the slide, the two blocks appear with on line
missing in the first block ! If I click on my mouse, the missing line appears !

Problem occurs on both Windows 7 and Ubuntu.

Situation here similar to Florian's results. Copy/Paste from WORD MSO2010 to
LibO 4.1 Master shows some smaller differences like unexpected nonptintable
characters in the table, but the result looks much more similar to the source
than I would expect after Urmas' original report.

@Urmas
May be we can reproduce with WORD2010 at least some of your observations if you
contribute a WORD sample source document and a .odt with your results, can you
please attach these documents?

I'm sorry but it was a necessary change. With the change from cell attribute
based conditional formats to sheet based conditional formats and making it
possible to change the cell protection by conditional formats we decided that
defining and modifying conditional formats should not be possible in protected
sheets.

This was necessary to prevent some nasty corner cases where one would be able
to mess up protected sheets.

LO icons, Kubuntu 12.10

LO is using weird program icons that do not match the program’s branding (see
screenshot). The icons in the start menu are okay.

The screenshot was taken running Kubuntu 12.10 with LO 4.0, but it's no
regression. The problem existed 'forever'.

I think that the ppa version of LO (https://launchpad.net/~libreoffice) is not
affected by this bug. (I once tested it. It's unfortunately lacking KDE support
and hence not suitable for me.)

Hi everyone, I usually use the Template Manager to start new Writer documents.
I always use my own custom templates under My Templates. There are two
regressions in the Template Manager in 4.0:

1. It is very slow to load. The Template Manager takes at least 2 seconds to
appear each time after clicking Templates button. I imagine this is because
of the new template thumbnails. I would appreciate an option to turn off the
thumbnails, or possibly implement caching of the thumbnails for subsequent
openings of the Template Manager.

2. As mentioned, I always go into My Templates. Under 3.x, after entering My
Templates the first time, it would remember that and open directly into My
Templates from then on. Now, it always defaults to the top level templates
overview with all the categories.

Thanks for looking into this.

reference manager
  Severity: blocker
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: bren...@nancy.inra.fr
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.0.3 release
 Component: framework
   Product: LibreOffice

Bibus is a freeware reference manager software that has been running with
OpenOffice and now Libreoffice for years to insert references into documents
http://sourceforge.net/projects/bibus-biblio/

Recent changes in the directory structure of Libreoffice have however blocked
Bibus working with LO.
in the step from LibreOffice 3.4 to 3.5, the
oobasis=C:\Program Files (x86)\LibreOffice 3.4\Basis\program
directory had disappeared, and Bibus seems to need access to this directory to
work.
with some playing around I managed to get Bibus to run when pointing the
oobasis to
oobasis=C:\Program Files (x86)\LibreOffice 3.5\program

This did also work with LO 3.6

However, now with LO 4, something seems to have changed again with the Lo
directory structure and trial and error does not seem to get me anywhere.

Could anybody post here please what files had been in the old Basis directory
and into which directory they have been put now ?

Or can a programmer have a look into the sourcecode available on sourceforge
and check why Bibus needs this access (Bibus is written in Python) ? The
original programmer of Bibus does not seem to maintain, even though there are
many users.

Thanks very much in advance.

Oliver

Hi.Thank you for reporting this.

When you say Printing, do you mean typing text in a document, or actually
printing the document? I cannot confirm either scenario using Libre Office
4.0.0.3 or Version 4.0.1.0+. I am using Ubuntu 12.04. Do you have additional
info, such as adding text to an existing large document, or another case?

--- Comment #8 from softw...@moritz-augustin.de ---
I can confirm this bug for LibreOffice 3.5.4.2 and Presenter Console 1.1.0 both
from the Ubuntu 12.04 repositories.

My only requirement is that the displayed notes should include all newlines
from the original notes. Notes are very hard to read if newlines are replaced
by spacesm because all structure is lost. Therefore I cannot use Presenter
Console and thus LO Impress for some of my presentations until this is
resolved.

In principle I really like the Presenter Console and Impress alot.

Interestingly I can't reproduce the failure to write on Linux; but I do get
some corruption - seemingly deleting the first 4 comment makes the 4 again
comment not a range based comment, but a point comment at the end.

ie. a save + restore doesn't restore this to where it should be.

I guess this is another case of mis-managing the field-marks underlying the
code ?

webofht - do you have a debug symbols build you could run valgrind in to see if
there is some memory corruption there ?

Miklos you did a few fixes in this area recently; any thoughts ? :-)

OK, I think I know what's going on here. Here is a simple test document.
Requirements:

1) The cursor position between the first field end and the anchor (both are
hidden characters) should be read-only.
2) The first annotation should be read-writable, including formatting. Only
direct formatting, no styles.
3) It should be possible to delete the first annotation.
4) It should not be possible to edit the second annotation, as it's part of a
protected section. (One could argue that commenting a protected section should
be possible, my take on that is: it was like this in 3.6, if we change that,
that should be a separate change, independent from this bug.)

I think I know what's happening here! :)

I believe you have changed the formatting for this document.

If you look at the styles dropdown box (see my attachment), and click on
various pieces of the document, such as a title, you will see some match. For
example, click on Title 1, Title 2 or Title 3, and you will see the styles
dropdown says Heading.

The Subtitles, and text bodies all show up as Text Body on the Styles
dropdown, but there must be some additional conditional formatting associated
with them, because some affect Subtitles, and some affect text bodies.

I tried to play around with creating a custom format following an tutorials for
LibreOffice, but I'm not very skilled.

Let me know if you remember doing something similar.

The file was renamed to Bug60645.ods before uploading here.

Expected behaviour (as per LibreOffice 3.x): On opening, A1 should show the

Current behaviour (4.0.0.3): A1 will retain old value until refreshed

We have zero control over what Windows does in Validating install step. On
the other hand, it takes about 5 seconds on my desktop. I don't think that I
have a 60x faster desktop than you, so you probably run a virus checker or
similar resource hog in the background.

I don't know, why installer was blocked by a running Java application. It is
not logical. Installer pauses when it has to overwrite a file in use. But
LibreOffice does not install JRE.

I'm closing this, because nobody confirmed it in the last 6 months.

  Hardware: Other
Status: NEW
   Version: 3.3.0 release
 Component: Presentation
   Product: LibreOffice

Reporting i#114386 against LibO. Verified the bug still exists in 4.0.0.

The problem is that is RTL locale (Hebrew, Arabic...) the handout tab shows the
boxes (3, 6, 9 slides per page) partly out of page border. See screen shots.

Notice this isn't related to the UI directionality, but to the system locale is
the cause. Setting LC_CTYPE=he_IL.UTF-8 is enough to trigger the bug.

Menu entry for horizontal line seems to be missing or moved. I can work around
by entering a graphic, but that doesn't allow for using all the styles easily.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 60331] Formatting of text in numbered lists applies to numbering

2013-02-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60331

--- Comment #1 from Brenda Granados bgra...@gmail.com ---
Hi, thanks for reporting this. I have tested this functionality using 4.0.1.0+
on Ubuntu 12.04. I found that you can customize the bullet list attributes by
opening the Syles and Formatting List (press F11). You can select the little
notepad with an a at the top. Right click on Default Style and select New.

I named the custom setting as BulletList, and selected a font effect, such as
color and Bold. I closed this, went to Format - Bullets and Numbering, and
selected a) b) c) as bullets. I clicked on the Options tab, and then chose
BulletList as my Character Style.

After closing this, I created a simple list using my bullets. I highlighted
each text field, and set it to Text Body in the style dropdown (one that was
predefined).

As a result, font color or underlining of the list text had no effect on the
bullets, but Italics, changing font size, changing to Small Caps, etc did.
