--- Comment #3 from pierre-yves samyn pierre-yves.sa...@laposte.net ---
Hello,

Thank you for your reply

We reopen this bug that we (qa-fr list) consider a regression due to the
following inconsistencies.

1. Lines do not have applicator button unlike the background color cell
tool where you just click to apply. For lines you have to open the list and
choose.

2. The spreadsheet tool keeps the last color used even if the current selection
has been changed (and displays an other color). For the lines, if the current
selection has been modified, the tool displays the color and not the last used.

example Calc
a. A1 background in yellow
b. Click C1 background in green
c. Select A1, green is still selected in the tool

example Line
a. Draw a rectangle, line color yellow
b. Draw another rectangle, line color green
c. Select the first rectangle, yellow is selected

3. The Area (filling) color is not managed in the same way
as the lines.

a. Draw a rectangle, filling color yellow, line color green. Keep the rectangle
selected then
b. Draw another rectangle, green is always selected in line color tool but the
fill color is that by default (Tango: sky blue 1 on my configuration).

Conclusion:
1. The user can *not* rely on the display of the toolbar. It is a regression.
2. The parallel with cell colors in calc can not be ok because for lines, as
shewn in 1, can not apply this color to a new object.

Best regards
Pierre-Yves

(In reply to comment #1)
 When I start to type my on a cell in Calc, it suggest my_favourite as
 the cell on step 2.

Yes, but the issue is that when you've typed 'my_f' the suggestion is 'foo1';
imagine the set of names is:

foo1
my_cat
...
my_favourite
my_food
...

Now when you type 'my_f' you want to be able to choose between my_favourite and
my_food but what you get is 'foo1'

(In my actual spreadsheet I have 150+ names (not all with the same prefix,
though).)

Screenshot. Header menu display correctly. But drop down menu display nothing

Problem description:
Ubuntu 12.04LTS, with 4.0.2 works fine. All in ZH-CN language. I add
libreoffice-4-0 as ppa. Get a update to 4.0.3 But immediately found the menu
could not display any character. In all Libreoffice application. And when I
trying to click dropdown menu items, it does not respond. So this do not look
like display issue.

I though it is due to ZH-CN language settings. So I change language to EN. But
the same issue.

Then I totally remove Libreoffice by:
sudo apt-get remove --purge libreoffice*
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get autoremove
sudo dpkg -l | grep libreoffice , ensure no output.

And re-install:
sudo apt-get install libreoffice

But still have the same issue.

Below is the installation log, sorry some word are in ZH-CN

Please have a look. And let me know if your need more information.

--- Comment #4 from Laurent BP jumbo4...@yahoo.fr ---
Hello,

I confirmed it is a regression as color line is the only parameter which is not
updated when selecting different objects:
1. draw several object with different lines (color, thickness, dot or point),
different filling (color, type), with or without shadow.
2. select each object one after one

Expected Result:
Informations in Line and Filling toolbar should be updated.

Actual result:
Color line is not updated, but other informations are.

2. enter some test text in some cells;
3. apply border:1.00pt for these cells;
4. save as Office Open XML or MS Office 2007/2010 XML (.xlsx);
5. Open the file again, you will see the border is 4.00pt thick;
6. When re-formated the border to be 0.50pt, it's 1.00pt when re-opened;
7. When re-formated the border to be 0.30pt, it's 1.00pt again when
re-opened;
6. When re-formated the border to be 2.00pt, it's 4.00pt when re-opened,

Thanks. It is really a duplicate bug.

But how do I fix it by upgrade your system? I read through the existing

1. Ubuntu 12.04LTS - 13.X?
2. Libreoffice 4.0.3 - 4.1(Daily build)?

If I wish to stay in LTS, and stable version of LibreOffice..what shall I do?
Thanks!

Julien: This is a bisect which identifies the exact source code commit which
introduced the bug. (unlike the bibisect from Joren which identified a range of
possible commits)

Unfortunately this commit is a huge code import from AOO. I tested AOO 3.4.1
and the bug is present these, so this is not the result of a faulty code
import.

I have been playing around with the code and I think it's likely that this is a
result of the removal of META_RENDERGRAPHIC_ACTION as you mentioned. Here is
the AOO commit: http://svn.apache.org/viewvc?view=revisionrevision=1220836 .
I've tried to revert the removal of META_RENDERGRAPHIC_ACTION but it's
progressing slowly.

Also, this bugfix should be accompanied with a unit-test.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 64902] New: Moving columns in tables overwrites content

2013-05-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=64902

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 64902
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
   Summary: Moving columns in tables overwrites content
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: pa...@landau.ws
  Hardware: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.3.3 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

This is virtually a duplicate of bug #35570, but it involves columns instead of
rows within Writer tables.

The wording is the same, bar using column instead of row.

Do this within Writer:

   1. Create a table of several rows and columns
   2. Enter content into all rows
   3. Highlight one complete column by click-and-dragging the mouse from the
first column to the last
   4. Using the mouse, click on that column and drag it to another column

What happens: the contents of the column you want to move overwrite the
contents of the column you move it to and leave a blank column where you moved
it from.

What is expected: the column you move should be inserted at the location you
drag it to, while all columns between the two locations should be moved left or
right, depending on where you are moving from, so that all information is still
intact, and no blank columns are left.

The reason for this bug is exactly the same as for bug #35570.

 I'll give it a try myself as soon as my build of sources will be complete.

Could you remind me of the defaults for minimum word length and max number of

 Component: Writer

I'm creating a document with a lot of cross-references, using the 'Category and
Number' style (e.g. 'Figure 1'). Each time I open the Cross-reference dialogue
(from the Insert menu), the selection has returned to the first possible style
(Page), and I have to select 'Category and Number' again.

In contrast, the the 'Type' list on the left remembers what was selected last
time I opened the dialogue. So hopefully this is a simple thing.

Thanks!

Hi guys  girls,

It makes no sense to write every release that this has not been changed.
As long as it is not marked as such, it is not changed.

Set this to the oldest version available - it is like this since the early days
of OOo. Note that this behaviour in Calc was only changed some few (3, 4?)
years ago.

Also I am tempted to set this to enhancement :)
It would be best of course, if there was some popup asking if you wuld like to
insert or overwrite.

Cor: It would be best of course, if there was some popup asking if you wuld

I humbly disagree. When you drag with the cursor, it points to a specific
location, which is standard (always) to mean an insert, not an overwrite. I
know of no text editor that behaves differently.

If the document is of explicitly RTF filetype, it is opened correctly.
Otherwise, the presence of certain characters makes it opened as a text file.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 64905] Problem while changing cell attributes on Calc

2013-05-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=64905

--- Comment #2 from Massimo si...@aruba.it ---
Changing text attributes (font, size, color) on a cell selection when only some
words in cells are different does not have effect.
For example
- write donald duck in a1 and a2 cells
- change text color (black to red) of words duck in a1 and donald in a2
- select both cells and change text color to black: no effect

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 34836] PDF export does not export EPS images

2013-05-23 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34836

--- Comment #44 from Michael Meeks michael.me...@novell.com ---
 Unfortunately this commit is a huge code import from AOO.

Right - and as such we cannot revert any part of it without causing severe
problems. Of course, we can research the differences that cause this issue and
then re-fix the bug; that is not a problem.

If you have questions on that please contact me by private mail not in this
bug.

This bug looks like it is becoming unmanageable - it seems to include lists of
un-related issues, it's getting hard to read - which hugely decreases the
likelihood that any developer will get to the end and be able to fix this bug.
It is the kind of bug that can never be 'fixed' because one of the several
sub-branches of the bug will get it re-opened, and everyone ends up
un-satisfied.

EPS is a subset of postscript that LibreOffice cannot render by itself. We
require an external program to convert this to a bitmap - it would be a nice
enhancement to fix that so we had an embedded EPS interpreter - however, that
is a rather significant enhancement request - it needs splitting into a new
bug.

Possibly we have (somehow) mangled and reduced the resolution of the pixel
image we render as a consequence of including Armins' changes in the re-base.
If so, we need to look at the DPI handling around that I imagine - it would be
good to pick one of the duplicates that is clean, and swap the order here -
make this one a duplicate of that bug - and make that bug a MAB for 4.0 - so we
solve it.

Rendering EPS requires pstoedit thus:

static bool RenderAsEMF(const sal_uInt8* pBuf, sal_uInt32 nBytesRead, Graphic
rGraphic)
{
TempFile aTemp;
aTemp.EnableKillingFile();
OUString fileName(pstoedit EXESUFFIX);
OUString arg1(-f);
OUString arg2(emf:-OO);
OUString arg3(-);
OUString output;
osl::FileBase::getSystemPathFromFileURL(aTemp.GetName(), output);
rtl_uString *args[] =
{
arg1.pData, arg2.pData, arg3.pData, output.pData
};

If the program is not in your path - it will not be found. We could of course
try to add a series of paths to try in this eventuality but that should be a
separate issue. Again.

Can I have help from a QA guy to close this issue, spawn several others and get
the problems split up nicely !? :-)

Thanks.

As the subject line describes I'm trying to connect to Heroku PostgreSQL via
JDBC and ODBC.

However, the required connection string using JDBC yields the following error
message:

SQL Status: 08006

Connecting via ODBC works. However, for some reason, only the public schema

Here a few details about my system:

Any thoughts?

 did you try to download again the installation package (maybe your is

 did you ever install previous versions of LibO?

 if yes, is there any LibO version still installed on your Mac?

1. I download LibO 3 times. 1 time from LibO french site, et and 2 times from
LibO official website and I have always the same problem. The install is easy :
drag LibO in the Application folder, but the first run (that create all other
files and folders needed) stopped always before the creation of theses items.

2. I have the same problem with LibO 3.6.6. But I can't find any older version
of LibO

3. No

Our bundled libs, which come with an external copy (e.g. liborcus, libwp*) are
wildly untested when not build with the same version as the bundled copy, see
for example:
http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/Fwd-libreoffice-liborcus-build-problem-td4056820.html

./configure should strictly check the versions that a LibreOffice release will
work with. IMHO it is better to be too strict than too liberal (that is
accepting external versions that accidentally work), as everything else results
is huge additional workload for the QA.

So for example liborcus should be checked to be libocrus-0.4 for LibreOffice
4.0.x and libocrus-0.6 for LibreOffice 4.1.x/master.

Open the sample file with large chart, it takes too much time on loading, looks
like freeze. And sometimes a warning dialog pops up with warning msg Main
memory shortage. Please quit other applications or close some windows before
continuing., click OK button on this dialog, then pops up an error dialog
and AOO crashes.

AOO solution isn't that good because it only works for numeric data, not for
text data. Besides, as Kohei suggested, it should be done in the chart engine,
not in calc

I investigated further.

Color was normal at LibreOffice 3.3.4.
In LibreOffice 3.4.4, it became white.

No less than 32 pixels are the same phenomenon.
http://www.ne.jp/asahi/soft/miday/Calc_Moji/32pngdata.zip

In 26 pixels, color was normal. It will be because it is not resizing.
http://www.ne.jp/asahi/soft/miday/Calc_Moji/26pngdata.zip

When outdev2.cxx of sauce was corrected by LO3.5, color was normal in three
kinds of sizes.
32 pixels : nY and nX are 0 - 25.
26 pixels : It does not pass.

Example document of the problem i face every day.

Adding Comment box (CTRL+ALT+C) with lots of lines of text drains all power
from the CPU and Calc gets super slow. Work around for this is zooming as far
as possible before pasting text in it helps snd then widening the box. Box
should also adjust it's size automatically wider and help prevent this problem.

This problem was and still is in Libreoffice 3.6 and now in 4.03. I have tried
this with 32bit machines with same results.

See the attachement and test yourself. This bug sucks because i have to do
these at work all the time.

5. Click Format
6. Enter 11.5pt into the Size box.
7. Click ok and then Find
8. Observe 'Search key not found' error

Trying the same but entering 11pt at step 6 works fine so the problem seems to
be specific to non-integer font sizes.

If you add Hyperlink to PDF file in your computer Calc opens it fine, but after
rebooting computer (or maybe even Libreoffice) Hyperlink doesnt do nothing. New
hyperlink works fine but older doesnt.

Same result as a button and text.

Hyperlink buttons text size is too big and is poorly readable because upper and
lower part of letters are missing.

Button can't be even moved inside cell anywhere and it is annoyingly top of
cell.

OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: hopedesi...@consultant.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.2.2 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:

Since this update, my libre office likes to crash suddenly without explanation
at times. Typically it is doing this while actually typing in the writer, on
occasions when formatting or editing a document. There is no rhyme or reason
it seems. There is no warning. All it does is vanishes then it will
automatically reopen, recover files and I can continue.

I keep a check on running my virus program regularly. There are no issues that
are found.

This is not happening in other software on the laptop.

I know there is a new office update to 4.0.3 I guess it is or something. I
have not installed the update yet.

Also, the automatic updater does not work. I click it says, it is not
avaiable and I go to the website for the update / download. I know this is
not supposed to work this way but since I got Libre Office, it does work this
way.

I do have a question. Is there an open source software project in the Libre
family that does the same thing as say Microsoft Publisher used to do for
publications? If so, please provide the link so I can get it as well. I love
the software.

Thank  you.

Oh, I can be reached at hopedesi...@consultant.com as I don't know if I'll
remember to come back and check comments on this feed. Thank you!

Steps to reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Current behavior:

Expected behavior:

Operating System: Windows (other)

Last worked in: 4.0.2.1 rc

Hmm, the server share automount function seems to be a feature of OSX 10.7 and
later. I see it for example on OSX 10.8.3 with AFP shares, and even with
aliases, and I actually like this feature, because it means you don't get the
annoying crash that used to occur and has been noted separately here :

  Severity: enhancement
Classification: Unclassified

  Hardware: PowerPC
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.3.3 release
 Component: Libreoffice
   Product: LibreOffice

concerning Libre office 4.0.3.3 writing program (writer).

Features: Comments (ctr, everything c). has some problems:

1 when you have made a comment and want to use the text from it by copy / paste
into a document it comes out as white text, then one must highlight and select
the font color.
2 you can not choose the font for all the comments at once but must do it for
each comment separately. it would be nice if it could be changed.
3 (and probably the most annoying problem): You can not print it as part of the
text. If you want to print the comments you must either choose to have it as a
list whereas the line number and page so you have to start counting forward, or
get the end of the page as it is called - in fact it means that the comment
is printed on one side for themselves and still only with line number as
reference.
Is it not possible to functionalize it a little so it came to serve as
footnotes do - number and bottom of the page (so you do not use a rainforest
every time you print one document). even better would be if it could be such
that you could choose the reference code - instead of No. 1,2,3 as the
footnotes example from Paul, John, Marie ...
sincerely Bo
