[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 65158] New: : [ENHANCEMENT] Add an option do not modify formulas in the datasort dialog

2013-05-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65158

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 65158
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: : [ENHANCEMENT] Add an option do not modify formulas
in the datasort dialog
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: stephane.guil...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.3.3 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:

At the moment, there is no option to sort cells depending on the results of
formulas without breaking the formulas as the cells get reorganised.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Write several formulas which result depend on values contained in other
cells throughout the sheet
2. Try to reorganise the cells thanks to the datasort dialog

Current behavior:
Cells are reorganised but loose their value as formulas now refer to different
cells.

Expected behavior:
There should be an option to conserve the formulas when sorting data.

Operating System: Ubuntu
Version: 4.0.3.3 release

Hi Robert, I'm not using the report builder extension, if that's what you
mean. I'm using the old report engine.

Most people doesn't know, that this old engine is already there. The
report-builder-extension is mostly direct installed with the packages of LO. I
have first heard about the old engine by Ubuntu-users, when we discussed
problems with reports in Base and recognized, that we are not writing about the
same software.

What java-version do you use? Could be a problem with java 7 ...

--- Comment #31 from Florian Reisinger reisi...@gmail.com ---
Hi,

[if you are in a hurry, go to IN SHORT: a little bit down]

One thing I am interested in, if you are able to try once more. How is this
working with LibreOffice Windows. You can find a portable version (install it
on a folder on the desktop - after testing deleting this folder is enough)

This is about testing, if really Linux only (To less insight in Linux. Has
Linux a PDF printer included or did you use the Print to file somewhere else.
From Windows I know that the driver of a PDF printer is totally different from
a real printer, that's why I stressed this point. I do not want to put a lot of
additional work on you, really, but all (at least) I read is: Printing to PDF
works - LibreOffice output is okay - Printing to real printer does not work
- Bug in all Linux printer's except of PDF output...
So, I read that cups is doing (all??) the printing. No additional drivers
needed (nice, if so...) Still you seemed to use a feature of cups to save as
PDF and not a real PDF printer. So IMHO cups code could still be affected.

BTW: (original from: http://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/Druckwerkzeuge - German)
Quote
Hinweis:
Ab Ubuntu 11.04 kann die Nutzung von CUPS-PDF durch diverse Fehler (z.B.
820820, 942866) stark beeinträchtigt sein (PDF-Dateien sind unleserlich und
nicht mehr durchsuchbar).
Unquote

Bugs in cups-pdf and the above waring makes me wonder, wether we should trust
cups-pdf...

IN SHORT:
After a long comment the sentence which was the comment all about:

I can't print out a envelope and I would really like to know, if this also
happens on Windows. Personally I use http://www.pdfforge.org/ for printing to
PDF @Windows... Because this PDF printer has his own driver and your real
printer has a totally different set of drivers in Windows, the results should
be the same, or it seems to be a bug in the printer driver... Yes I still think
so, because when you save to pdf, this happens in Linux inside of cups, which I
do not really like (because it may hide some issues)

Sorry for putting back to NEEDINFO, maybe this is not only a Linux bug..

Hello Christopher, *,
I can partly confirm your bug with Konqueror Version 4.8.4 under Debian AMD64
and using my box.net account: If I use konqueror webdav://box.net/dav, I have
to enter my user name and password, but am not able to save any changes to a
test file, which I copied via Konqueror to my box.net site ... :( LO Version
4.0.3.3 (Build ID: 0eaa50a932c8f2199a615e1eb30f7ac74279539) with installed
Germanophone lang- as well as helppack can open this file, I can edit it, but
LO only seems to save it. When I reopen it again, no changes are there ... :(

I did some further testing (and here comes the reason, why I added the
NEEDINFO tag to this bug ... ;) ) and found out, if I press CTRG+O to
open a file, enter http://box.net/dav, I am able to open my test file (after
entering user name and password), edit and save it afterwards - and the changes
stay there, when I reopen it again :)

Would you be so kind to test it that way (either use my shortcut, use File -
Open or click on the icon), enter the path to your webdav file as URL (or maybe
you could try to click to your mounted webdav share, where you can choose the
test file)? Does it work that way?

Sorry for the inconvenience and have a nice day
Thomas.

Joren,

I also can not confirm the exact issue you report with today's build of master
on Windows, will take a look at a Linux build a bit later to be certain.
Possibly an OSX only issue?

Using Version: 4.2.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 526fbddf6935b0a3983563af71c4ccea4561ceb
TinderBox: Win-x86@6, Branch:master, Time: 2013-05-30_00:05:37

Please reference this AOO wiki for sidebar component names:
http://wiki.openoffice.org/wiki/File:SidebarNames.png as it is going to be
very helpful if we adopt a common way of referring to the GUI elements of the
Sidebar. I believe the AOO devs adopted Symphony nomenclature. Proper component
names are sidebar, tab bar, tab, configuration menu button, title bar, deck,
content panel title and content panel.

Each soffice component with Symphony counterpart (writer, impress, calc draw)
presents a different tab bar composition, with impress the most complex.

In screenshot 1 you have used the Properties button of the Tab bar to open
the Page layout content panel. And then used the Orientation tool bar to
select landscape from its list.

In screenshot 2 you have used the Styles and Formatting radio button of the
Tab bar to open the Styles and Formatting content panel, which for Writer
is the only content panel present in the deck. This content panel contains a
horizontal tool bar and multiple style buttons (paragraph, character, frame,
page list) each when active exposes a tree list of style selections--you've
selected the Page styles button and from its tree list, the apply Landscape
style action.

To restate this particular issue--a page orientation set Landscape from the
Properties content panel may be disrupting assertion of the Page
styles--specifically ability to toggle between the Default style (normally
portrait orientation), and the Landscape style.

I suspect the problem (or is it by design?) is that when using Properties panel
to set a landscape page orientation--that becomes the default page style--and
if then applying Landscape page style from Page Styles content panel... it has
no action to perform because it is already in landscape style.

So, what may be missing from the GUI is a tree list page style to apply
Portrait page layout against a landscape default?

 1) Paste special picture from draw as Picture Format

Perhaps you mean Drawing format. I don't see Picture Format.

 4) add title to the picture

I think you mean Caption.

I can appreciate the confusion we have here because we're using different
language versions. (FYI, there is something else called Title, which I get to
by right-click Description.)

 6) open the writer document - picture is missing. Only empty box with title
 is shown

I tried this on the file you provided with LO3.6.6. I can reproduce and confirm
what you reported. HOWEVER, you could have mentioned that you were using DOC! I
suggest that you look at Bug 52226, which speaks of the same for DOCX.

To everyone else who's making any further reports on this issue, please
indicate specific LO version and file type.

To all who have reported this for IMPRESS, does anyone of you still have the
problem with the latest IMPRESS, or at least 3.6.6? If, yes, please remember to
indicate file type.

If not, I suggest that we close this.

What is interesting: in msPP 2003 done exactly the same: two menu items
point to the same dialog. Therefore this done for compatibility with PP.
That is not a valid reason. We should not replikate all MS mistakes for
/compatibility reasons/.

I rest my case and give up.
But I still think that we should make our GUI as simple as possible and not
more complex than necessary.

But now it is impossible to embed pictures for buttons any more. LO 4.0 could
read forms, created in LO 3.3.4 with embedded pictures on buttons. But LO 4.0
could not embed pictures itself.
Should we close this bug or is there any 3.6.* planned, which could be fixed?

Test case.

1) Open attached document
2) Note that the cloud image is anchored to cell B2, and placed in such a way
that the top of the cloud is about half-way in row 2.
3) Now, select row 1 and insert a row before row 1. This works: the cloud
correctly moves down, since it remains still relative to its anchor point (now
cell B3). Now the top of the cloud is about half-way in row 3.
4) Put your cursor in cell A2 at the end of the world Foo, press CTRL-ENTER
to insert a line break and type Bar. Note that this is not handled properly.
The height of cell A2 is increased in order to accomodate the two lines of
text. This means that cell B3, to which the cloud image is anchored moves down.
However, the cloud image does not move down, so that its relative position with
respect to the anchor point is changed. The top of the cloud should have
remained about half-way in row 3, but now it is at the bottom of row 2.

Unhappy about duplicate status.

My issue is not that the option not to print zeros is hard to find in the print
menu, or that it is not persistent.

My issue is that the system is inconsistent. It may not show the zeros when
editing and then print them. When you ask not to see the zeros, IMHO by default
the zeros should not be printed either.

Stuart - an interesting post; clearly we can and will fix the sidebar as/when
we have more UX feedback -and- we're out of the bug-fixing phase for 4.1; for
now I think the main focus is non-experimental features :-)

Having said that patches to fix anything in LibreOffice are always welcome.

Thanks !

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 64712] : LO bug reporting web page.

2013-05-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=64712

Hi brucehohl,

this is what I tried to point out.

If you go via
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=LibreOfficebug_status=UNCONFIRMED

then enter a summary, you'll see that FDO suggests existing bugs that might
match your description.

In my statement I explained that the other bug entering platform BSA does not
have this functionality yet. If you want, please search for an existing bug
here:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/buglist.cgi?bug_status=__open__product=LibreOfficequery_format=specificorder=changeddate%20DESC%2Cbug_status%2Cpriority%2Cassigned_to%2Cbug_idlist_id=306200

If you don't find an existing bug, you may create a new bug for the BSA problem
not showing suggestions of existing issue.

In both cases please add a link to the new (or existing) bug to the wiki
containing the idea to improve just that:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/Projects/Ideas#Idea:_make_BSA_suggest_existing_bugs_that_might_match_the_BSA_bug_currently_being_created

Thanks for your help :)

Kumara - You are right about language issues. I simply use polish version and
translated the names.

However, I do not agree that it is an issue with docx format:
1) It is specific to the XML format which does not concern doc
2) I enclosed attachement showing that the same happens when You save to odg
format.

Sorting an grouping doesn't work. I only get data in the report, when I won't

2013-05-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61627

--- Comment #12 from Michael Meeks michael.me...@novell.com ---
Hi Martin,

My expectation is that you'd be able to look at these issues - which (I assume)
only arrive when linking with LTO are therefore not really LibreOffice bugs.

To get a gdb closer to the issue do:

export GDBCPPUNITTRACE=gdb --args # for interactive debugging

And re-run the make:

cd sc; make
/home/marxin/Programming/libreoffice-lto/workdir/unxlngx6.pro/CppunitTest/sc_filters_test.test

Type 'run' in gdb - of course, and wait for the crash; then I guess it's a
matter of poking around to work out what mis-compilation / mis-optimisation
happened (?) :-)

That is assuming that this is not a side-effect of libmerged somehow - but
increasingly distros are building / shipping with that - so I don't expect huge
issues there.

HTH !

But with OpenSuSE 12.3 32bit rpm there appears no error-message. The report

Could it be you don't use the Report-Builder but the old report-engine? Many
people doesn't recognize, that this engine is always included, because they
installed the whole packages of LO - included the Report-Builder.
Have a look at https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65047 ,

If its the old engine we must change the title - could also be we can mark

Test case

Here is a test case.

This is a document imported from excel.

Clicking on the Dollar, Yen, etc checkboxes starts the macros. The macros fail
with a rather uninformative message.

Changing the macros from

Rem Attribute VBA_ModuleType=VBAModule
Option VBASupport 1
Sub Dollaro()
Range(J2:R13,N15:R16).Select
Selection.NumberFormat = $ #,##0.00;[Red]-$ #,##0.00

Range(J2:R13,N15:R16).Select
Selection.NumberFormat = ¥ #,##0.00;[Red]-¥ #,##0.00
Range(A1).Select
End Sub
Sub Euro()
Range(J2:R13,N15:R16).Select
Selection.NumberFormat = € #,##0.00;[Red]-€ #,##0.00
Range(A1).Select
End Sub
Sub Sterlina()
Range(J2:R13,N15:R16).Select
Selection.NumberFormat = £ #,##0.00;[Red]-£ #,##0.00
Range(A1).Select
End Sub

To

Rem Attribute VBA_ModuleType=VBAModule
Option VBASupport 1
Sub Dollaro()
Range(J19:R30,N32:R33).Select
Selection.NumberFormat = [$$-409]#.##0,00;[RED]-[$$-409]#.##0,00
Range(A1).Select
End Sub
Sub Yen()
Range(J19:R30,N32:R33).Select
Selection.NumberFormat = [$¥-411]#.##0;[RED]-[$¥-411]#.##0
Range(A1).Select
End Sub
Sub Euro()
Range(J19:R30,N32:R33).Select
Selection.NumberFormat = € #.##0,00;[RED]-€ #.##0,00
Range(A1).Select
End Sub
Sub Sterlina()
Range(J19:R30,N32:R33).Select
Selection.NumberFormat = [$£-809]#.##0,00;[RED]-[$£-809]#.##0,00
Range(A1).Select
End Sub

makes things work (in the text above, disregard the fact that the cell ranges
are changed, just look at the format strings)...

When dealing with VBA macros, Libreoffice should not fail on VBA format
strings.

Please try with the Test case file.

1) Open the file
2) See the blue box. Note that it is grid-aligned (on a metric grid).
3) Open the gallery, create a new theme (or select an existing one, say My
theme)
4) Click on the blue box and keep the mouse button pressed, until the cursor
changes, drag the object into the gallery, see the object appearing in the
gallery
5) Click on the blue box in the gallery and drag it to the drawing area. Now
there are two blue boxes in the drawing area, but the new one is likely not to
be grid aligned (and needs manual alignment, selecting position and size and
fixing the position).

ZIP file containing diagram in .vsdx, .vsd, .pdf

I created a diagram with Visio 2013 and saved it as .vsdx

Then I tried to open the .vsdx file with LibreOffice 4.0.3.3 (Windows) and
4.0.2.2 (Ubuntu) but the shapes looked like black boxes in both systems.

Unhappy with the result, I opened the .vsdx in Visio 2013 and saved it back in
Visio 2003-2010 format (.vsd)

Then I tried to open the .vsd file in LibreOffice but the file simply won't
open, neither in 4.0.3.3 nor in 4.0.2.2. LibreOffice just says: General error.
General input/output error.

Attached please find a minimal example to reproduce the problem. Thank you for

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 65169] New: Can't remove extra space from formula

2013-05-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65169

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 65169
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Can't remove extra space from formula
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: b7.10110...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.6.5.2 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 80023
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=80023action=edit
Test document

Suppose I need to write a formula immediately followed by some text, e.g.
훿-функция. I make a formula %delta, which is then followed by -функция. I
see that there's a lot of space surrounding the delta, so I edit the object and
remove default 0.2cm spacing setting it to 0. But some space is still left
inside the formula frame.
This is demonstrated in test document.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 44266] Objects taken from the gallery do not align to the grid (objects should have an anchor point)

2013-05-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=44266

--- Comment #8 from sasha.libreoff...@gmail.com ---
Thanks for additional information. Here I will describe how I understand
problem:
When we move an object from Gallery to document, we see only specific mouse
cursor with plus sign. We do not see object itself and aligning not working.
Therefore we can not place object correctly from first attempt. And we need
select freshly dropped object each time and realign it. It reduces
productivity.
And how it should be: object should seen during dropping from Gallery. Not only
mouse cursor. And aligning also should work during dropping object. And not
only after re-selecting dropped object.

Is this understanding of problem correct?

Okay, thanks for your reply :-). To determine it is a dupe or not, it could be
helpful to retest using a daily version of 4.1.0 :

As a further example, consider the More difficult test case

Here, you have a rectangle, with a red cross inside. The red cross is grid
aligned (on a metric grid). Put that in the gallery. Take it out of the gallery
and assure that the red cross remains aligned.

This is tricky, since when the red cross is aligned, the corners of the
rectangle are not.

Thanks for reporting!

I can reproduce this using Linux Mint 15 x64 with LibreOffice Versie 4.0.3.3
.3.3 (Bouw-id: 400m0(Build:3)); Dutch UI;

I did some improvements about the 'order of comments' that are applied to
footers/footnotes, so I thought this was maybe introduced by my commit related
to Bug 34800
(http://cgit.freedesktop.org/libreoffice/core/commit/?id=868f3485126827f6baf7179d1c2c3c20812cac9b).
After reverting my commit, I still can reproduce this behavior.

Priority:
* Minor: Does makes it substantially harder to make high quality work
* Medium: default for minor bugs

Kind regards,
Joren

I guess there's just or also the problem with screen resolution ?

(In reply to comment #6)
I tested the sample document with LO 4.1b1.

The comments all show in normal font. As screenshot of Timon shows MS Office
displaying bold fonts in some comments.

I can use bold formatting in LO as well but it is not initially displayed
 for the sample document. REOPEN.

The problem is slightly different. MSOffice indicates if document formatting
was changed. For example, text was written in Arial 10, but another person made
correction to Times New, 12, Bold. So we can see Formatted: Font: Bold, Font
Name: Times New, Font size: 12.

LibreOffice could not show such document changes.

This would appear to be a duplicate of bug #47355 as the issue is the frame

Yes, the problem is with the frame itself.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 65164] FORMATTING: Cell borders

2013-05-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65164

Screen resolution is 1920 x 1080 so that's not a problem (it's a HDMI 3D
screen!).
AFA printing is concerned, 0.05 prints as a single thick line, whilst 2.55 just
about shows some separation .. although it *looks* like a thin upper and thick
lower (ie, the wrong version of the line selected).

Can't say about earlier versions .. although I don't recall having the same
issue this time last year when I was going through the same exercise (producing
a booklet for an annual meeting and formatting the accounts section). The pdf
I produced from the built-in last year shows fine double lines, whereas this
year, the equivalent pages display either a thick single line or a very coarse,
just about double line - so all things being equal, something has been changed
that's caused the effect. Unfortunately the most I can say about the version
of LibreOffice I used to produce last years version is that it was 3.5 (from
the pdf's properties) .. but as to which exact version ... don't know. It was
produced on 7th June last year, and as I keep the version of LO up to date,
there's a good chance that it was the release version around then.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 64647] EDITING: Losing REF to related spreadsheet after sorting

2013-05-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon

--- Comment #6 from ign_christian ign_christ...@yahoo.com ---
Created attachment 80031
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=80031action=edit
Working file

Let me try with a simple test sample. I attached Test1.xls Test2.xls later.

To see the problem: (Problem A)
1. Open Test1.xls
2. Cells B1-B5 is linked to Sheet1.A1-A5 on Test2.xls
- change cells B1-B5 to appropriate location of Test2.xls
(eg. cell B1 ='file:///C:/Users//Test2.xls'#$Sheet1.A1)
3. Mark all rows A1-A9 Data Sort Column C Ascending OK
4. See that B6-B9 returns 0 because that cells produce wrong reference on
Test2.xls

Problem A: reference to another file not remembered properly while sorting

@winkelmann: is that what you mean? similar with bug 45146

Another problem: (Problem B)
1. 2. same as above
3. Mark all rows A1-A5 Data Sort Column B Descending OK
4. See that B1-B5 don't change, seems like not moving at all

Problem B: column that has reference to another file not moving while sorting
if the column used as Sort Key

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 64744] EDITING: Indentation corrupted after copy - paste

2013-05-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=64744

--- Comment #2 from Jacek Wolszczak shutdownrun...@gmail.com ---
There is a difference between how Word and Writer handle copy/pasting of bullet
items.

In Word, depending on how bullet item is copy/pasted:
- When you copy the whole bullet item (along with line break character), the
pasted text will also be a bullet item;
- If you copy only a piece of bullet item (without line break character) and
paste it, the text will retain the original formatting (font size, undelined,
italics, etc.) but will not be a bullet item anymore.

I understand that in Word when copying bullet item without line break character
some bullet item flag is automatically set to false.

In LibreOffice no matter how you copy bullet item (with line break character or
without it) the bullet item flag is not changed (is always true). So I'm
guessing that while pasting the text, LO tries to set the bullet item flag
true (which it already is) and as a result also unnecessarily increases indent.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 65171] New: EDITING: Bibliography Database corrupted bibliography file

2013-05-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65171

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 65171
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: EDITING: Bibliography Database corrupted bibliography
file
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: akosa...@yandex.ru
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.3.3 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 80033
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=80033action=edit
Bibliography file

Problem description:
Bibliography Database tool corrupted existing bibliography database after
upgrade. My 100+ entries were partially erased. Extremely frustrating. It was
my PhD thesis.

It looks like biblio.dbt was mixed with biblio.dbf

Steps to reproduce:
1. I tried to add a new source to bibliography. Then I noticed that previous
entries were damaged.

Current behavior:
The database is corrupt and it is impossible to recover it.
Operating System: Ubuntu
Version: 4.0.3.3 release

Can reproduce on LibreOffice 4.0.2/Ubuntu 13.10 -- thus unlikely a
Ubuntu-specific bug.
Maybe try with a clean LibreOffice profile or on another machine?

Closing this as solved. I wasn't able to reproduce this problem on the wiki.

@Rainer should this be still happening, please add a link to the wiki-page this
is happening on.

Also now, there's this dedicated donation page http://donate.libreoffice.org/
at the top right of every wiki top menu banner. So not sure if the left side
bar should be cluttered with donation info if a dedicated page exists.
