[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 48362] Writer: Latin font becomes Asian font when opening file created with OOo 3.3.0
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=48362 --- Comment #10 from Zhong Qiyao lotus7...@kimo.com --- I am unable to reproduce this bug just by simple operations using OpenOffice 3.3.0. However, I have noticed that if I do the following: 1. Open blank document. 2. Insert table (2 columns, 1 row). 3. Paste the following plain text from Notepad to OpenOffice Writer. Note that these dashes are not Latin hyphens. /bar separation .half-bar (auxiliary) –no syllable or deleted syllable +syllableinserted syllable ~one syllable with two notes ––pause = ↑ ↓pitch of next note compared with previous 4. OpenOffice 3.3.0 results in the dashes being converted to a Chinese font, while OpenOffice 3.4.1 kept the Latin font as Times New Roman. So, I am suspecting that this bug may be a side effect of font handling in Unicode in OpenOffice 3.3.0, and neither OpenOffice 3.4.1 nor LibreOffice 3.6.2 does not seem to have this problem. I am now closing this case. By the way, I am still a LibreOffice, not OpenOffice user, nowadays. As I can understand, if we in dialog Format-Page on tab Page changing Page layout field to Mirrored, then on most tabs of this dialog settings are tacking in account that now instead of left and right margin exist inner and outer. But tabs Borders and Background do not so. They remain using left and right margin instead of inner and outer. IMHO it is Enhancement request. And I do not know if it is possible to save such information into Oasis ODF format. Well, if that's the case this looks indeed an enhancement request to me too :). Btw, we don't have to store this information in the ODF file format... As far I can see 'we' can check the page layout is mirrored. If so - show other dialogs (inner/outer instead of left/right). I wonder whether that's causing the trouble in fdo#66050, when the Duden extension needs stlport_vc7145.dll, and copying that over from an old inst needs msvcr90.dll, and needing two different msvcr versions in one process makes it all break down Fridrich sberg: it could eventually, yes, but I really have no solution there Fridrich sberg: the solution would be that they simply rebuild that whole extension using as linker libraries the static multithreaded ones sberg Fridrich, thx; not looking for a solution, just wanting to label the issue correctly ;) (it's currently marked duplicate of a Mac-only issue, which is apparently wrong) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

Problem: Mousing over or keyboard+arrow -ing through any LibreOffice entries in the Office submenu of gnome-panel shows a noticeable delay. This delay is noticeable, anywhere from .2s to 2s (anecdotal estimation) and does not exist for any non-Libreoffice entry in gnome-panel. This is _not_ a first-time-only caching issue: when I hit up-and-down repeatedly enough times and then stop, I can watch two different menu entries get iteratively selected over an additional 5s as it catches up with my keystrokes. NB: LibreOffice is _not_ open. I'm assuming there's some interaction with .desktop files. Per conversation with vmiklos on IRC, I installed the latest master build.
