Please attach sample PPT file to test. Have you tried opening that file with
PowerPoint Viewer to check whether it's not an LO bug?

2013-07-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60781

--- Comment #5 from Owen Genat owen.ge...@gmail.com ---
I can't support an automatically opt-in subscription / follow method other than
the current inbox (envelope icon). Subscription / following is almost
universally an opt-in, rather than opt-out method by default. As someone who is
reasonably active on a couple of LO-related sites I do not want to be notified
by email / tweet / whatever of every question I answer or thread I comment in,
so this is essentially a matter of preference i.e., opt-in.

I am however happy to use the internal AskLO inbox fuction to track recent
questions / threads. The one problem I see with this request is when a correct
answer is selected that the question should automatically disappear from this
list. I would think it less useful to have automatic disappearance than to
have these entries clearly marked. Whether this tracking enhancement is done
via the inbox or the follow list I guess is debatable.

The other point appears to be the sorting of either inbox or follow list
entries e.g., by date or alphabetic. This could be useful.

Timefield in a tablecontrol is limited to 1 second

I can confirm this bug. It isn't a problem of the subform. So I created a new
form and a tablecontrol with a timefield. All timefields in a tablecontrol are
automatically limited to 00:00:01. You could see this, when you try to change
the value of one row and then have a look to the table, 00:00:01 appears.

The timefield in a tablecontrol works right LO 4.0.4.2.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 66985] ill-handling of numbers in imported xls worksheet

2013-07-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=66985

--- Comment #10 from Parameshwara Bhat peeb...@gmail.com ---
(In reply to comment #9)
After all I think that everything works as expected. The sheet looks the
same in MS Office and LO.

you are missing the important point. You may check it when you have opened the
file in MSO. It lets you work with numbers as numbers and dates as dates. It
senses the true nature of data. It will keep them left aligned, but will not
come in the way of doing any mathematical operation on them.

In LO, you cannot do any mathematical operation on them. If you highlight
multiple cells, sum of the cells is zero. The numbers with apostrophe behind are
shown as numbers in cell format dialog. You change them to specific number
format, no error is generated. But there is no change in the status either. You
will not be able to convert them.

so, to deal with them you either have to manually and tediously remove
apostrophes, or resort to ugly hacks like find '^.' and replace with '' .
Finding ' and replacing with nothing did not work for me, though some people
have reported it to work. LO fails to find apostrophe. Anyway, they are not for
common users. As far as common users are concerned, the file from the Bank is
not workable. Removing apostrophes manually is way too tedious for large
data.Changing the format will not work.

Interestingly, calligra sheets will open the file perfectly and let you work
with numbers as numbers and date as dates though they are left aligned as they
are formatted as text. additionally, when I see the cell format property, it
will correctly show the format as text, not as general number.Even then, without
changing the format, it will let you work with numbers as numbers and date as
dates. If you change the format to number, it will save the cell as number when
saved even in OD format and remember it as number when opened again. But this
ods file if opened in LO will still be showing the numbers as text and not deal
with them as numbers. You open the same ods file again in calligra sheet, the
reformatted cells would remain re-formatted.

It is not a question of formatting. It is a question of dealing with data.
Formatting a numerical data as text with apostrophe is end of story in LO for
that number. You cannot have it as number again through any means other than
physically removing apostrophe or hacking at it.

Well, any presentation created in Impress could not be opened in Google Docs.

Not to be misunderstood, Power Point can open those presentation with no

preview, but it generate previews if file is created in Microsoft Project.

It could be up to Google Docs/ Gmail but I thought maybe some information is
not saved from Impress that is expected by Google Docs...

For what Alex has written I can see that the connector is a problem, and that
it may not be possible to provide a stable fix.

Should someone put a health warning against the connector extension at
http://extensions.libreoffice.org/extension-center/mysql-native-connector-for-libreoffice-4.x
where it says it is compatible with 4.0.0 and later?

The linux versions at
http://extensions.libreoffice.org/extension-center/mysql-native-connector/releases/1.0
already state that they are not final versions.

'Tis a shame, but given that JDBC works, albeit slowly, I guess it isn't a
priority.

Parameshwara, please, what version of MS Office you used for testing? It seems
that MS Office 2013 ignores the numbers that are formatted as text. It works

Otherwise, I agree that LibreOffice does not allow to switch between the

Caolan, reverting your commit 0741054cb9f58fe6e021fe04fb477f0e56366d9e
glossary/autotext isn't a toggleable dialog helps here.

This toolbutton registers as
  SwTbxAutoTextCtrl::RegisterControl(FN_GLOSSARY_DLG, pMod );

SwTbxAutoTextCtrl defined as
  SFX_IMPL_TOOLBOX_CONTROL( SwTbxAutoTextCtrl, SfxBoolItem );

i.e. with *SfxBoolItem*, but FN_GLOSSARY_DLG is
  SfxVoidItem EditGlossary FN_GLOSSARY_DLG

i.e. *SfxVoidItem*

so the following condition in SfxToolBoxControl::CreateControl is false (line
339):
  (rFactories[nFactory]-nTypeId == aSlotType)
therefore it fails to create SwTbxAutoTextCtrl and returns NULL.

So... I wonder if changing FN_GLOSSARY_DLG to SfxBoolItem is a right fix here?

try this: open a simple .txt file in LibO and print it...

at this point the last tests you can do are:

1- ask a friend to borrow you a different printer and see what happens
2- bring you PC (I hope it's a laptop or a light desktop) to a friend's home
and thy using his/her printer and see what happens
3- ask a friend with a laptop to visit you and try printing something on LibO

Hello

Thank you for replying

(In reply to comment #3)
Well, they are used, in a way, the are used by certain styles. And e.g.
 SwXMLFontAutoStylePool_Impl::SwXMLFontAutoStylePool_Impl() writes out all
fonts referenced by the document, even if it's just a fallback font for
 asian characters.

I see...

The ODF export filters would need to get smarter about this.

The problem is not that annoying but it would be great... :)

The API provides the isInUse method for the interface XStyle, may be ?
Or at least check if the bi-directional writing option is enabled ?

Eike Rathke er...@redhat.com changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 Status|NEEDINFO|RESOLVED
 Resolution|--- |NOTABUG

--- Comment #14 from Eike Rathke er...@redhat.com ---
1. The numbers are not numeric cell content but text intead, this is
important for all following behavior. Usually you calculate with
numeric content in a spreadhseet, and not with text. Calculating with
text is a bad idea, as follows.

2. Because of the textual content, if the file is loaded in Calc in
a locale where the separators match those of the text (i.e. '.' dot
decimal separator and ',' group separator in this case) the
' apostrophe is prepended to the input line (it is not part of the
cell content so can not be searched for) such that editing the
textual string will not change the cell content to numeric.

3. Excel has some weird behavior that when calculating with binary
operators (e.g. =A1+A2) where the content is text but would be
interpretable as numbers according to the current locale it does
interpret it as numbers. Using functions like SUM() that take a range
argument the text is not interpreted as numbers but ignored instead.
The latter is standard spreadsheet behavior and Calc does the same.

4. Load a file with such (A1+A2) calculations in Excel after having
switched your environment to a locale that does not match the
separators, e.g. one where the decimal separator is ',' comma, and
you will see the mess that results, at best the numbers will not be
interpreted anymore and #VALUE! results, at worst the numbers can be
differently interpreted, for example 12,345 with ',' group
separator vs ',' decimal separator.. This is why calculating with
   interpreted text is bad.

Calc so far mimicks the Excel behavior.

Now for solutions to the problem if you encounter such a file:

As you already noticed you can select the cells you want to change and
using FindReplace with regular expressions enabled you can search for
^. and replace with $0 and hit ReplaceAll.

Another and maybe more comfortable solution is to use the
ConverTextToNumbers (CT2N) extension, you may find it at
http://extensions.libreoffice.org/extension-center/ct2n-convert-text-to-number-and-dates

Last but not least, you mentioned that your bank produced the file, I'd
ask them to produce proper spreadsheet files with numeric content and
not just dump strings into text.

Please see the attachments.

In MSO, addition on cells could be performed . Perhaps you are using the
sun(cellx:celly) function which as you correctly said, does not work. But I did
a simple cellx + celly addition which worked.

In MSOffice, the warning menu offers to convert the number formatted as text to
number. And that works very well. That is exactly What LO needs to have. If LO
can easily convert from text-formatted number to number, what else it does or
it does not do will not be very important.

In Calligra sheets, version 2.5.4, sum(cellx:celly) does not work as you
pointed out. But simple addition can be performed on the cells. Also, when
multiple cells are highlighted, on the bottom-LH, the sum of the cell contents
is correctly shown. Internally this display may be tied to simple addition,
rather than to sum(x:y) function.

Why, can't we have LO smarter than Calligra and MSO ?

PS : the status of bug seems to have been messed up by me.I have re-opened.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67302] New: TablesSupplier name clash when dots in schema/table name

2013-07-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67302

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 67302
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: TablesSupplier name clash when dots in schema/table
name
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: lio...@mamane.lu
  Hardware: All
Status: NEW
   Version: unspecified
 Component: Database
   Product: LibreOffice

The implementations of interface XTablesSupplier.getTables() in LibreOffice
currently return a XNameAccess that uses:
  schemaName + . + tableName
as name to access the tables.

However, this scheme can make collisions between
 schemaName == foo
 tableName == bar.qux
and
 schemaName == foo.bar
 tableName == qux

because in both cases, the name resolves to foo.bar.qux.

The XNameAccess should rather use properly quoted and escaped names, that is:
 '' + escapeDoubleQuotes(schemaName) + '.' + escapeDoubleQuotes(tableName) +
''

double quotes should be escaped by repeating them.

At the same time, all callers to this interface have to be changed, too. The
whole name construction business should be done by a utility function, most
probably ::dbtools::composeTableNameForSelect (which needs to be changed to
handle double quotes in names...).

Implementations of XTablesSupplier:

 1) MySQL driver: I haven't found where the name is constructed; possibly
in db-agnostic dbaccess/ or connectivity/source/sdbcx or
connectivity/source/commontools
code.

 2) PostgreSQL driver: pq_xtables.cxx function Tables::refresh code snippet:

buf.append( schema ).appendAscii( . ).append( name );
map[ buf.makeStringAndClear() ] = currentTableIndex;

callers that need to be also modified:
pq_resultsetmetadata.cxx function ResultSetMetaData::checkTable

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 61544] UI: Some fields don't fit into Options dialog

2013-07-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61544

--- Comment #18 from Caolán McNamara caol...@redhat.com ---
There's a certain amount of relation to theming/platform so different reasons
on different platforms/theming. I'd love to make the options dialog calculate
the ideal size, but there are *so* many tabs that I fear it would take an age
to open the dialog so currently it requests its traditional size.

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63618 should help a lot on MacOSX
but its not the complete solution yet

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67303] New: [FILEOPEN] Don’t open ODT files with URLs

2013-07-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67303

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 67303
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: [FILEOPEN] Don’t open ODT files with URLs
  Severity: critical
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: os...@yandex.ru
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.0.4 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 82998
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=82998action=edit
example

LibO-4.1.0.4; LibO-4.2.0.0+ (master)
DOCX file (attached) created WinWord12 (MSO_2007) from the web archive
Opera-12.16 (*.mht). The file opens easily, edited and saved in OOXML
(*.docx) format. But:
1. Open DOCX file – everything OK.
2. Save the file as ODT.
3. Reload the ODT file – LibO_Writer_4.1{2}.0 fell asleep, probably on the
hyperlinks.
4. Kill soffice.bin process
5. Start LibO_Writer_3.5.7
6. Open this ODT file - everything OK.
This is a regression: LibO_Writer_3.5.7 easily opens this ODT file, but
LibO-4.1{2) can't do it.

Screenshot

Same problem as in Calc, but in Writer. Please see included file.

There is also a problem with the selected text. The whole sentence is truly
highlighted, but only part of it is show as highlighted on the screen. Also, an
offset exists between the mouse position and the selection cursor position
(which is invisible).

Thanks for your encouragement Paolo.

Usually bugs should give clear information on specific issues, so that the
people working on - in this case - the filters have some clear hand grips to
take.

Feel free to reopen and inform more specific, in case you have such a
description with a sample file.
Regards,
Cor

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51340] FORMATTING: Line spacing and spacing above/blow paragraph not correctly imported from PPTX 2010

2013-07-25 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51340

--- Comment #8 from René Peinl rene.pe...@hotmail.de ---
Problem still present in Impress 4.1.0.4
More than 3000 bugs fixed but this one is still there. Is it really so hard?
I've analyzed what's happening and it seems like Impress is reading the master
layout correctly, but doesn't apply the text styles defined there to the single
slides.
I used slide 5 of the Impress_test.pptx uploaded earlier as an example.
On the text level it says:
a:p a:pPr lvl=1/
   a:r a:rPr lang=de-DE dirty=0 smtClean=0/
   a:tErstellen eines integrierten /a:t ...
That means: paragraph with outline level 1
In the master slide you find the corresponding
p:txStylesp:bodyStyle
  a:lvl1pPr marL=180975 indent=-180975 algn=l rtl=0 eaLnBrk=1
fontAlgn=base hangingPunct=1
  a:lnSpca:spcPct val=15//a:lnSpc ...

Impress doesn't seem to apply this line spacing to the paragraph.
I think it might be related to other bugs dealing with slide master.
e.g., when I create a new slide in Impress from the Impress_test.pptx, it shows
an object placeholder instead of a text placeholder

Possible related bugs include:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=47425
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=53395
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=61894
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63008
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=65003

Maybe you should create a new super-bug collecting all of those and give it a
higher priority.
