 According to http://www.w3.org/TR/2008/REC-xml-20081126/#sec-pi, processing
instructions MUST be passed through to the application.

I understand this as a conforming XML processor must pass PIs to the
application. The application is still free to ignore them.

(In reply to comment #1)
I tried installing libreoffice extension - Presentation Minimize.

 Here what I found-
My original ppt is of 1.2 MB
Converted pdf before presentation minimize was installed - 19MB
converted pdf after presentation minimize was installed - 10MB

but when i do export from GUI using libreoffice impress- with reduce image
resolution to 300% DPI then the converted pdf is of 2.4 mb. even reduced to
300kb based on the DPI value.

Can i do same thing from command line options?

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67521] New: FILESAVE: Invalid svg file exported by LO Draw

2013-07-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67521

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 67521
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: FILESAVE: Invalid svg file exported by LO Draw
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: florent.an...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: unspecified
 Component: Drawing
   Product: LibreOffice

I am running LO 4.0.3.3 on Linux3.9-1-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.9.8-1 x86_64
GNU/Linux.

I generated a chart in LO Calc that I wanted to export to SVG for further
editing with Inkscape. From Calc, I copy-pasted the chart to an empty Draw
picture and exported it as SVG. The SVG file I obtained appears to be invalid
and did not open in Inkscape.

No detailed error message was produced by Inkscape, but Firefox and EOG both
complained about the invalid file and gave some details:

EOG: Error domain 1 code 76 on line 131 column 213 of
file:///home/floflooo/Work/Copyrighter/db_copy_number/rrNDB/graph/bug/graph_test.svg:
Opening and ending tag mismatch: tspan line 0 and text

Firefox: XML Parsing Error: mismatched tag. Expected: /tspan.
Location:
file:///home/floflooo/Work/Copyrighter/db_copy_number/rrNDB/graph/bug/graph_test.svg
Line Number 131, Column 373

Upon further inspection of the XML, there seem to be two errors:
* missing /tspan tag at the end of line 130
* extra slash in tag text class=TextShape/ at line 131

I have attached the ODG file that generates the invalid SVG file, the invalid
SVG file itself, and my corrected version of the SVG file.

Best,

Florent

The gnumeric behaviour sounds interesting; having a compatibility option would
be great if someone came up with a patch - although hiding that in the
'about:config' style options piece makes a lot of sense I think.

Thanks for your feedback; we're just in a holding pattern for someone to be
interested enough to patch this I guess :-) Joel - thanks for helping to
explain things so clearly !

 Hi Petros,

thank you for reporting this mistake in the Help.

 I think it should read:
Choose Format - Styles and Formatting - Page Styles - Select page - open
context menu Modify/New - Columns tab

 regards,
 Cor

Hi Cor,

Yes, that is correct regarding the Help, but then Columns is restricted to be a
part of Page Styles only, and not of Paragraph Styles, as it should be as
Selection.

However, it seems that this is rather an omission and not a mistake, error or
bug.

Regards,

Petros

  Severity: major
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: m...@rittsel.com
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.0.4 release
 Component: Libreoffice
   Product: LibreOffice

I'm running LO 4.1.0.4 from your PPA on Ubuntu 12.04 64bit - libreoffice
(1:4.1.0-0ubuntu1~precise1~ppa1)

After the last update to 4.1.0.4 I can't open odt, ods xlsx (can be more
extensions that I haven't found yet) over SMB within Nautilus. However .doc
works fine.

If I open any of the others i get that the file is corrupt and the possibility
to repair the file. Problem is that it's not corrupt, my colleagues can open
them (other OS and software), and if I copy the file to my local computer I'm
able to open them without a problem.

Doesn't matter if I start Writer and use the open file option there.

Even if i use this with terminal it's no problem:
$ libreoffice --writer /home/user/.gvfs/path/to/document.odt

So I don't know how to give you more information since I can't reproduce it
through the terminal. Is there any way to debug with GUI or get a log file?
Can't find any answers on Google for that.

To reproduce:
Nautilus - Browse Network - Windows network - SHARE - double click *.odt

Of note, http://www.w3.org/TR/2008/REC-xml-20081126/#sec-starttags (see
production [43]) PIs are defined as legal content.

While the application need not interpret PIs, they are defined as content, so
it would seem that they should be preserved when the document is resaved?

LO Draw and Impress have a dark document on dark background when using a dark
gtk2 theme (e.g. Adwaita-Dark from
http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/?content=148170) and having the
libreoffice-gtk integration installed.

They should have a white document on dark background as Writer does.

normal. Seems like quickstart speeds up a different process with no benefit for

I'm really glad the bug has changed it status to enhancement. I am strongly
supporting adding the old one behaviour back this or other way.

As I wrote in the beginning of the topic the old one ctrl/shift/cursor
keystroke mode is much more practical regardless of its origin and I see a some
supporting votes here.

When access to forms with Forms/Subforms combination (Parent-Child
Relationship) the parent record display fine but the subform data display takes
long time (4 secs before update to 40 secs with the upgrade)

I changed from 4.0.2 (official repository) to downlodable 4.0.3 and turn worst.
I changed ODBC and drivers from MySQL and the same result.
I reinstall MySQL server to avoid DB-Tables perfomance issues.
I checked CPU usage and almost takes 100% when navigated thru records

I had to downgrade to LO 3.6.6 version and works as expected (as long as Ubuntu
12.04).

At present time I use:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67536] New: Functions with *_ADD don't work correct

2013-07-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67536

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 67536
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Functions with *_ADD don't work correct
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: All
  Reporter: ku...@libreoffice.org
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.0.4 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

When using some functions with *_ADD within the name, the table don't work
correctly when saving in different formats. This concerns:
- CUMIPMT_ADD
- CUMPRINC_ADD
- EFFECT_ADD
- GCD_ADD
- ISEVEN_ADD
- ISODD_ADD
- LCM_ADD
- NOMINAL_ADD

Not concerned are:
- CONVERT_ADD
- DURATION_ADD
- WEEKNUM_ADD

1) When saving as ODS and opening again, these functions are renamed to its
variant without _ADD.

E.g.: Type into A1 =GCD_ADD(24;18) and saving the spreadsheet as ODS.

Expected behavior: When opening A1 contains =GCD_ADD(24;18).
Shown behavior: When opening A1 contains =GCD(24;18).

2) When saving as XLSX and opening again, functions without _ADD are converted
to subtractions.

E.g.: Type into A1 =GCD(24;18) and saving the spreadsheet as XLSX.

Expected behavior: When opening A1 contains =GCD(24;18).
Shown behavior: When opening A1 contains =(24-18).

3) When saving as XLS and opening again, functions without _ADD show #MACRO? as
output value.

E.g.: Type into A1 =GCD(24;18) and saving the spreadsheet as XLS.

Expected behavior: When opening A1 shows 6.
Shown behavior: When opening A1 shows #MACRO?.

Can not save or change .odb file over smb/nautilus mount, work fine in LO4.0.
It look like it is the same source problem you have.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 39007] Persistent Restore Windows dialog won't disappear, disables key functionality

2013-07-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39007

--- Comment #86 from Norbert Thiebaud nthieb...@gmail.com ---
I've just re-tried this based on the steps and document in Bug 66589.
I _cannot_ reproduce.

After the crash I tried, 'reopen' and I also tried 'ignore' either way I do
not see the problem..

Is there any extensions involved ? /me wonder if maybe an extension somewhere
create it's own Windows 'natively' and does not set setRestorable to false on
it ?

Bug 66589 does not indicate if the workaround indicated above

rm -fr ~/Library/Saved\ Application\ State/org.libreoffice.script.savedState/

does work for it... if it does looking into the files there _may_ help indicate
what 'windows' state is saved and hence maybe track where it is comming from

I believe OP means that the cell contains 1,2,3 in the cells respectively.
The file provided appears to have a 'hidden' 2 even if the 5,00 is deleted,
the calculated amount still comes to 6.

If the second cell is formatted to a Number, the 2 shows up and the calculation
is correct. The problem here is that the file in question contains a hidden
number 2.

I have attempted to recreate the hidden 2 but am unable to do so. Marking as
resolved as works for me. The problem is with the file, not LO calculation.

C++ source reproducing the problem

I am using Debian and upgraded to libreoffice from wheezy-backports (version
1:4.0.3-2~bpo70+1 in Debian notation).

I can succefully connect to Libreoffice using API but when I try to get the
type of any document from InputStream using
XTypeDetection::queryTypeByDescriptor it looks like hang. For very short
strings (about 1000 bytes) the function returns the type (generic_Text or
encoded in my tests) correctly and quite fast but if I load even 5 bytes
file the wait time to get the type is more than a minute. I can see one thread
from my app consuming 50% of cpu and one thread from Libreoffice process
consuming 50% of cpu for all this time.

I tried to attach gdb to the process but the only thing I understand that the
execution is inside cppu_threadpool::JobQueue::enter and doesn't go out until
the end.

I used openoffice from Debian squeeze before and my code worked fine so I
suppose that this situation is a bug.

I attach simple test application to reproduce the problem

1. I also want to know why my libre on Windows xp is loosing files, and
taking on junk files.

I also want to know why my files are being corrupted.

Sections of my documents are sometimes missing.

Sections of my documents are sometimes separating and moving independently.

Problems with Libre are causing me a lot of grief and frustration and loss of
time.

Any product is only as good as:

1. it works.

2. the service and promptness of service behind it.

My experience is that neither has been good.

weirdly it also only happens with an installed LO but not a dev-install.

I also know the following closed bug reports are also the same issue being
reported here, and I personally think they should ALSO be marked as duplicates
here to make that clear:

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67542] New: EDITING Calc is changing case of alphanumeric strings

2013-07-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67542

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 67542
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: EDITING Calc is changing case of alphanumeric strings
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: m...@markm.ca
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.4.2 release
 Component: Spreadsheet
   Product: LibreOffice

Calc is changing case of non-leading characters of alpha numeric strings in an
apparently random fashion.

Example: PXgYuvqi is changed to PxgYuvqi - Note second character.
TTVcCBvm is unchanged and saved as entered.

Setting Tools Cell Contents AutoInput has been un-checked and LibreOffice
Calc closed and restarted. This has had no effect on the case change problem.

Auto correct should NOT be on by default on a spreadsheet. Word processors
sure, a spread sheet, not even maybe. Alpha numeric strings are common in
spreadsheets, and to have the application prevent a user from entering certain
strings is not a reasonable approach.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67529] [gtk] draw/impress ugly background with dark theme

2013-07-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67529

--- Comment #7 from Emilio Pozuelo Monfort poch...@gmail.com ---
All of Writer, Impress and Draw have a dark background on 3.5.4
(1:3.5.4+dfsg2-0+deb7u2) and 3.6.5 (1:3.6.5-1), which is not surprising as the
fix in bug #35365 only landed after 3.6.5.

Got 3.6.7 .debs from libreoffice.org, and all of Writer, Impress and Draw have
a white document background.

So it looks like Draw and Impress have regressed at some point after 3.6.7.
I'll try to narrow down when the regression happened.

Other Sound dialog

Problem description:

When adding a custom slide transistion sound, Impress only creates link to that
file and plays the sound locally.

However if you send the presentation to another computer or USB etc, the custom
slide trans. sound does not work.

The problem is caused by the Other Sound dialog, under
Slide Transition - Sound selection, which misses include sound file and
inserst the file directly as link.(Screenshot1) While Insert - Movie or Sound
dialog inserts direcly the sound file to the presentation, and has Link option
too(screenshot2)

Expected behavior:

Having custom transistion sounds within the presentation file which may enable
to use custom transition sounds on other computers.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67546] New: EDITING: related fields not shown if key is set as bigint unsigned on mysql

2013-07-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 67546

Summary: EDITING: related fields not shown if key is set as
bigint unsigned on mysql
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: k...@esztermann.de
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.0.4 release
 Component: Database
   Product: LibreOffice

With the 4.1 version base no longer shows related fields of 1:n relationships
in subforms of a mysql (native) db. A little experimenting showed that this
happens only when the primary key is set to bigint unsigned. bigint alone
works, as do int unsigned.

Steps to reproduce:

1. create a simple mysql database

  CREATE TABLE `series` (
`id` bigint unsigned NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT,
`title` varchar(255) NOT NULL,
PRIMARY KEY (`id`)
  )

  CREATE TABLE `episode` (
`id` bigint unsigned NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT,
`series_id` bigint unsigned DEFAULT NULL,
`title` varchar(255) NOT NULL,
PRIMARY KEY (`id`)
  )

2. link this db to LibreOffice base and create a simple form with the wizard

Table series, add subform, Table episode, join series_id and id

3. you can enter data in both tables, but stored data in the episode table is
not shown once you change the active record in the series table.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67547] New: Can't access methods of ScriptProvider from VB

2013-07-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67547

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 67547
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Can't access methods of ScriptProvider from VB
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: nopo...@novell.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 3.5.0 Beta0
 Component: framework
   Product: LibreOffice

Created attachment 83308
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=83308action=edit
Excel file containing VBA code to launch libreoffice and attempt to run a macro
in another document ( expected to be located at C: ) - will attach also

Can't invoke macros/scripts from VB. All attempts to access the 'getScript'
method of the document scriptprovider will fail. I've marked the earliest
release as 3.5 ( I'm pretty sure this goes back way further than that, earliest
LO I have here is 3.5 )

e.g.

Sub invokeLOMacro()

Dim sURL As String
sURL =
vnd.sun.star.script:VBAProject.Module1.CalledFromImportedXLS?language=Basiclocation=document

Dim loServMgr As Object
Set loServMgr = CreateObject(com.sun.star.ServiceManager)

Dim oDesk As Object
Set oDesk = loServMgr.createInstance(com.sun.star.frame.Desktop)

Dim oDoc As Object
Dim args(1)

Set args(0) = MakePropertyValue(Hidden, False)
Set args(1) = MakePropertyValue(MacroExecutionMode, 4) ' 4 is
com.sun.star.document.MacroExecMode.ALWAYS_EXECUTE_NO_WARN

Dim nullArray()
Set oDoc = oDesk.loadComponentFromURL(file:///c:/MacroXLS.xls, _blank, 0,
args()) '

Dim scriptProv As Object
Set scriptProv = oDoc.getScriptProvider()

Dim xScript As Object
Set xScript = scriptProv.getScript(sURL) ' will fail here

The net result is it is not possible to invoke libreoffice basic, java, python
etc. scripts from VB ( using the scripting framework )

--- Comment #2 from Noel Power nopo...@novell.com ---
note: the root cause of the problem is in the scripting framework itself where
there is a XNameAccess implementation, the XNameAccess implementation is
throwing when ole bridge is attempting to figure out if there is a property
called getScript. Apparently ( I had forgotten this ) we treat any named
elements in an object ( exposed via XNameAccess ) as properties.
The scripting framework shouldn't throw in this instance ( it thinks the
MasterScriptProvider isn't initialised correctly )

Solution is to fix the logic in the MasterScriptProvider implementation

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67529] [gtk] draw/impress ugly background with dark theme

2013-07-30 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67529

--- Comment #8 from Emilio Pozuelo Monfort poch...@gmail.com ---
So turns out I was wrong on the above. Things work fine with Adwaita-Dark, but
don't work with another theme I have which is darker.

What is really happening is that, depending on the background color set in the
gtk2 theme, Draw/Impress will draw a dark background or a white one.

E.g.

Install the Adwaita-Dark theme linked above, set your gtk theme to Adwaita-Dark
See that LO Draw/Impress have a white document background
Modify /usr/share/theme/Adwaita-Dark/gtk-2.0/gtkrc, change bg_color from
#363b3b to #111215
Fail

This is because of Tools Options Accessibility Automatically detect high
contrast mode of the system. If I uncheck that, Draw and Impress get a normal
white background.
