[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67761] New: FILESAVE: Saving in doc format created additional blank line
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67761 Priority: medium Bug ID: 67761 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: FILESAVE: Saving in doc format created additional blank line Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: Windows (All) Reporter: bugquestcon...@online.de Hardware: Other Whiteboard: BSA Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 4.0.4.2 release Component: Writer Product: LibreOffice Created attachment 83638 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=83638action=edit Test kit with explanations in each file Problem description: When saving a Wrtier file, containing an email address and URL in seperate lines without any additional text in both lines, in doc-format and opening this file again in Writer, for each saving in doc-format and opening in Writer cycle an additional blank line is added below the email address line and the url line. Above Is valid for the file in which I first observed the bug. Due to confidentialiyt reasons I cannot submit the file with the orginal content. However, the files TestAddtionalLinesAfterEmailURL_08. odt and doc are the original file with the confidential content removed or modified. Removal of condifidencial content did not influence the behavior of this file. All modification and observation explanations are given in these files. TestAddtionalLinesAfterEmailURL_08. odt and doc are based on an ott-file which was most like created early April 2013 and the that time latest version of 3.6 family I tried to repeat the same effect in a new Writer based on my default template created in 4.0.4 I recommend to read first the odt-version of each test file attached because opening of the the doc-files is expected to increase the number of blank lines Steps to reproduce: 1 – open a new Writer file 2 – type an email address in first line and second line an URL (The content of the 3 rd line could be a blank line as the last line in the document, or a blank line between a text line, or a text line as the last line: text linie is default style) 3- save as doc-file (and odt-file for comparision) 4- open in doc file in writer = there is an additional blank line below the email address = there is an additional blank line below the email address but not below the URL. This is not consistent with the very first observation documented and visible in estAddtionalLinesAfterEmailURL_08. odt and doc Test kit contains TestAddtionalLinesAfterEmailURL_08.doc / odt : original file when bug was first observed. Based on 3.6 ott file 30805_AdditionalLinesAfterSavingInDoc_0x.odt / doc a blank line after the URL from the beginning 30805_AdditionalLinesAfterSavingInDocDefaultTextLine_0x.odt / doc a text line in default style directly below the URL 30805_AdditionalLinesAfterSavingInDocDefaultTextLineBlankLineBeforeDefaultTextLine_0x.odt / doc a blank line between the URl line and a text line There are questions in AskLibO to this topic http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/21094/every-time-i-open-one-document-in-libre-office-blank-lines-have-been-added/?comment=21099#comment-21099 http://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/20698/why-does-space-manual-line-break-leave-a-blank-line/ Expected behavior: No addtitional blank lines when saving in doc format. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67763 Priority: medium Bug ID: 67763 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: date time controls: fractional seconds, timezone support, duration, interval Severity: enhancement Classification: Unclassified OS: All Reporter: lio...@mamane.lu Hardware: All Status: NEW Version: unspecified Component: Libreoffice Product: LibreOffice In 4.1, we changed our dattime-related API datatypes to support: - negative year - nanosecond resolution - timezone The next step is to update our UI elements to support these new features, as well as introduce UI elements for durations and intervals. Negative year = Need to decide if negative years are meant astronomically (that is, before year 1 is year 0) or traditionally (that is, before year 1 is year -1). Our code calling OS libraries (in sal/osl/) possibly to be adapted. Test whether our date formatting is prepared for negative values. Nanosecond precision We have two ways to display a timestamp (datetime): 1) formatted field with a date format; it works with concepts inherited from spreadsheets, namely that everything is a double (floating-point number); dates are a number of days since an epoch in the late 19th or early 20th century. These can already do arbitrary precision formatting of timestamps with a user-defined format (just add .# to the end of the format), but the double floating-point precision is not adequate for full nanosecond resolution, and behaves weirdly anyway in that the available precision depends on the distance of the date from the epoch. For the commonest example of dates in the late20th / early 21st century, the value of the double is around 4E4 ( = 4*10^4 = 4). The mantissa has 53 bits of precision; getting to seconds precision takes about 32 bits, leaving about 20 bits for the fractional seconds. This around to a precision of the order of magnitude of microseconds. But dates within a few days of the epoch have a full nanosecond precision (and beyond) ;) 2) Dedicated time and date fields, but no single timestamp control. In base (forms), splitting a datetime into its date and time components works (there is special support code for that; each control will touch only its part of the timestamp). Wrt 1, we could extend formatted fields to quad floating-point precision, but IMHO that's just adding to the hackish approach. Unless Calc decides to do it for its own reasons, I don't think it would be worth it. Wrt 2, we need to add cases to offapi/com/sun/star/text/TimeDisplayFormat.idl for higher precision. Which ones? Maybe one each for milli, micro and nanoseconds (times two, for 24-hours and AM/PM variants)? The implementation is in: xmloff/source/forms/handler/vcl_time_handler.* (conversion between XML attributes and our internal datatypes) include/toolkit/controls/unocontrols.hxx include/toolkit/controls/unocontrolbase.hxx include/toolkit/controls/unocontrolmodel.hxx toolkit/source/controls/unocontrolbase.cxx toolkit/source/controls/unocontrolmodel.cxx toolkit/source/controls/unocontrols.cxx (classes UnoControlTimeFieldModel, UnoTimeFieldControl) include/toolkit/awt/vclxwindows.hxx toolkit/source/awt/vclxwindows.cxx (class class VCLXTimeField) include/vcl/field.hxx vcl/source/control/field2.cxx (classes TimeFormatter, TimeField, TimeBox) forms/source/component/Time.* (classes OTimeControl, OTimeModel) svx/source/fmcomp/gridcell.cxx (class DbTimeField) commit 43ea97e1f9cecd6c7cba8db35ce1307c858c6857 Author: Lionel Elie Mamane lio...@mamane.lu Date: Sun Jul 28 16:08:26 2013 +0200 fdo#67235 adapt form control code to time nanosecond API change gives a good overview of the kind of things that need to change. Timezones = Something like: 1) Add a property which timezone should the the display be in. (Can be none which is different than 0.) 2) Add a property assume that untimezoned data from the database is in timezone XXX. 3) Handle conversions in the code. Do we also want an option show timezone explicitly? That would IMO probably be in a different control, not a setting of the existing control. For timestamps, it makes the split in date and time more complicated (because the timezone can impact both the date and the time), but possibly still workable. We could also introduce a datetime control, which would IMHO be cleaner / nicer. What is a timezone in the new property? For isolated times, I think only fixed offset to UTC make sense, and maybe a few special values like SYSTEM. But for full datetime, the user would like to enter something like a city, and have the timezone at that date in the city, taking into account daylight-saving time and

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67764 Priority: medium Bug ID: 67764 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: FORMATTING: Spaces removed when pasting from windows clipboard data stored as HTML format Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: Windows (All) Reporter: nub...@gmail.com Hardware: Other Whiteboard: BSA Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 4.1.0.4 release Component: Writer Product: LibreOffice Created attachment 83641 -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=83641action=edit Nirsoft InsideClipboard file showing the state of my clipboard after copying from Visual Studio, and a text file showing only the contents of the HTML entry on the clipboard Problem description: Whenever I copy text from the IDE in Microsoft Visual Studio, and try to paste into a LibreOffice Writer document, all spaces are removed. Pasting into other programs such as Microsoft Wordpad, the formatting is correct and spaces appear. Using Nirsoft InsideClipboard, I can see that when I copy text in Visual Studio, the data is stored as several different clipboard types, one of them with format ID number 49426 (HTML Format). In the HTML data on the clipboard, all spaces are stored as nbsp;, the html escape code for a space. It appears that Writer simply removes these instead of pasting them as spaces. Steps to reproduce: 1. Copy text from the IDE in Microsoft Visual Studio 1a. Alternatively, use Nirsoft InsideClipboard to load the attached .clp file to the clipboard 1b. Alternatively, use some other method that stores data on the clipboard as ID 49426 that uses nbsp; escape codes for all spaces. The attached .txt file contains an example. 2. Paste the data in Writer Current behavior: The text appears in Writer properly formatted except all spaces are removed. Pasted text contains lines like: struct__device_builtin__cudaMemcpy3DPeerParms Expected behavior: Spaces should appear in the pasted text, yielding lines like: struct __device_builtin__ cudaMemcpy3DPeerParms Known workarounds: If I use Paste Special and choose Formatted Text [RTF], I will get formatted text with spaces. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67743] can't save new autocorrect entries
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67743 --- Comment #4 from tommy27 ba...@quipo.it --- I installed 4.2alpha twice (2 different builds) and in each case the user profile was clean. browsing the user folder I see that no autocorr subfolder exists and even if you try adding new autocorrect entries that folder is not created. if you manually copy the autocorr subfolder from another user profile and put it inside the 4.2dev user folder, then autocorrect entries can be saved and stored regularly. from what I see, the issue is that LOdev fails to create a new autocorr subfolder if no such folder is already present. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 34449] request new feature: ability deleting borders of cell from adjacent cell
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34449 --- Comment #16 from tilu...@gmail.com --- (In reply to comment #13) You are right. This is not a bug, because the product works as it was designed to work. But the problem is, the product was incorrectly designed. An avarage user expecting if he/she set a bottom border, he/she also set a top border too, because there is only one border between neighbouring cells. The same with left and right borders. This is how Microsoft's Excel, Google Docs, Gnumeric, Calligra Suite (KOffice), Kingsoft Office and so on, and so on works. It affects a lot of people, and the workaround is waste of time, and time is money. This is the reason I think, it is a high priority task to redesigne border handling. It is not so difficult, still makes Calc a lot better, and prevents false bugreports. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 67791] New: Double-click save button opens two Save As dialogs
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67791 Priority: low Bug ID: 67791 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: Double-click save button opens two Save As dialogs Severity: minor Classification: Unclassified OS: Windows (All) Reporter: mikekagan...@hotmail.com Hardware: Other Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 3.3.0 release Component: UI Product: LibreOffice When saving a new file, if to double-click the toolbar Save button (instead of single-click), two Save As dialogs are shown. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create a new document. 2. Make some modifications, e.g. type a character. 3. Double-click Save button on the toolbar. Expected result: one Save As dialog is opened Actual result: two Save As dialogs are open, both accessible (they don't block each other, i.e. mutually non-modal). Tested with LO 3.3.0.4 - 4.1.0.4, and AOO 4.0. Considerations: 1. This bug is likely to occur if a user suffers from a locomotory disorder, or has a broken mouse that makes multiple clicks on a button press. 2. While this specific case is of low importance, it may happen that the same problem will be with other buttons (I haven't tested). There are some buttons that specifically need to be able to receive double-clicks (like, say, Style Paintbrush). But allowing to double-click some other may bring more problems, when an action will be unexpectedly triggered twice. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
