[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 51609] Images pasted from the web should be embedded by default
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51609 --- Comment #6 from narayana...@outlook.com --- The CTRL+SHFT+V command strips off all images and pastes only the text. That is not what we want! I agree that if the user wants to copy the text from the website, why would he only keep the links, rather than embedding the image itself in the copied article? That makes sense only if the images are likely to keep changing (e.g. some chart/graph that keeps updating with time). It does NOT make sense with MOST images, because they are static. In fact, when we break the links (EditLinks... menu), LibreOffice downloads all the images once again; although the images are already there in the cache. Thus we end up downloading the images twice! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 71207] New: In a article pasted from Internet, command to replace thumbnails with original images
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=71207 Priority: medium Bug ID: 71207 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: In a article pasted from Internet, command to replace thumbnails with original images Severity: enhancement Classification: Unclassified OS: All Reporter: narayana...@outlook.com Hardware: Other Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 4.1.3.2 rc Component: Writer Product: LibreOffice Problem: If we copy an internet web page and paste it in the Writer, LibreOffice inserts the images as linked entities, rather than embedding an independent copy of the image in the odt file. To view the images, we need a live internet connection. A bug #51609 is already raised about this. However, the correcting action for that bug needs to take care of another related factor: Many of these images are actually a lower-resolution thumbnail of the actual image that is larger and has a higher resolution. Typically, these thumbnails are of so low resolution that they cannot show the point in sharp, clear details. Therefore, the user has to click on each thumbnail to see the larger image. In such cases, breaking the links would mean losing the link to the larger images forever. Therefore the Writer should first replace the thumbnails by the original high-resolution version, and then break the link. This can be introduced as a manual step. (Edit Links Images Replace thumbnails with original.) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 70703] Base is crashing frequently when EDITING data and switching Forms
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70703 --- Comment #25 from t...@tim-passingham.co.uk --- I'm still hoping that someone will look at this at some point. I have spent countless hours trying to circumvent it and to replicate in a simpler form. I have done some experiments which may shed some light on possible causes. I have a form (A) with a subform (S). In subform (S) I go to a 'new record', and then use a button to select another form (B) which will determine part of the essential content of subform (S). This invokes a dialogue, which I use to open the form (B). All is fine so far. On form (B) I 'select' the item I want. This invokes a macro to store the key to the selected record in subform (S) and then close form (B). At the point at which this value is stored in subform (S) the 'beforeupdate' event is triggered in subform (S) (and it seems this usually happens before the calling macro ends). The calling form (A) and subform (S) may be made visible before or after this value is stored (I have tried both with no change to the result). This beforeupdate event does a number of calculations and database lookups to complete the data required for the record in subform (S). It is invoked twice - once for the database form and once for the document (as is true for all beforeupdate events - strange are the ways of LibreOffice Base events). The second call does almost nothing. There is also an AfterUpdate event macro which does almost nothing (it used to but I suppressed it in order to find the cause of the crash). If I let all this run it crashes every time. If I place a breakpoint in the beforeupdate event (with the Basic IDE) at a point that is invoked only once, and wait briefly before resuming execution, it does not crash. I tried inserting a 'wait 2000' instead of a breakpoint, but that did not work. Other examples of the crash are less repeatable, which made me think it is related to some sort of timing issue between screen handling and macros running in the background. I have found that when there is a lot of macro processing going on at the time a form is being updated and receiving the focus on screen, crashes are more likely. I have simplified my explanation of the number of macro actions occurring somewhat, but the above gives the essence. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70210 --- Comment #20 from sergio.calleg...@gmail.com --- I would like to underline again that it is even worse than that. I would not complain this loudly if for some versions of LibO there was no draw and impress at all or if it was simply unusable. The problem is that this defect makes LibO /appear/ useful, while it is in fact actively destroying a potentially large amount of previous document preparation work from the users. I am still through reconstructing my slides with LibO 4.0 and AOO 4.0.1. This is a huge issue, and the most damaging thing that could be done to the perception of LibO and free software. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 70653] EDITING: impossible to change existing math catalog element's font face without its name auto-switched to Unicode value
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=70653 --- Comment #1 from Yury yury.tarasiev...@gmail.com --- The scenario when this is especially relevant, at least in my case, is as follows: 1) One has an element in catalog, named THENAME 2) One wants to change something relatively minor in it, say, serifed font face to sans-serifed one. 3) One selects the element to change and clicks 'Edit', then selects the font face (other one than that's which is set already). Immediately two things may happen: 3.1) glyph's unicode position is reset, either if it's not available in the new face or, in some cases (Neo Euler-Asana Math), even if it IS available; 3.2) the name in the 'Symbol' field is reset to Ux pattern 4) Now one'd expect it'd be sufficient to set 'Symbol' back to what's edited now (THENAME).
