[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 71891] VIEWING: My equation is caged and parts are hidden.

2013-11-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=71891

--- Comment #1 from Dominique Boutry dominique.bout...@laposte.net ---
Not reproduced on same LibO version 4.1.2.3 on Win7.

Could you try to adjust the setting [concerned formula being edited] Format
Spacing Category Borders Top to 1 or 2 millimeters ? If it solve the
issue :
- leaving things in the state results in the modification for new and edited
formulas of the current document only,
- pressing Default on [concerned formula being edited] Format Spacing
results in a system-wide setting (same status as Tools Options).

Thanks

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 71468] Cannot delete customs styles

2013-11-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=71468

--- Comment #6 from Markus Michels mar...@michels.cc ---
So I tested this bug on three different systems, always with LO 4.1.3.2

Linux (Ubuntu 64 Bit): bug exists (i.e. cannot delete custom style even if not
assigned)

Mac OSX: bug exists (like in linux)

Windows 7 64 Bit: bug does NOT exist (i.e. I can delete unassigned style, if
style is assigned I get a warning that it will be reverted to default if I
choose to delete)

Hope it helps...

I see the same set of non-envelope page size here as shown in the attachment to
comment #0. In my case I have a networked HP LaserJet 4050TN (without envelope
feeder) accessed via CUPS using IPP. I believe the entries are pulled from the
PPD file. I assumed that the lack of envelope entries (in my case) was due to
my lack of an envelope feeder, but I am not certain of this. I am also not sure
this is confirmation, but it may be.

Tested under Crunchbang 11 x86_64 running v4.1.3.2.

Screendump

When editing existing strings or editing other translators suggestions, the
field opens with a lot of spaces and line breaks before and after the string.

This is very annoing.

If not corrected the string ends up 'dirty' with these blanks.

The consequense will be a lot of dirty strings.

--- Comment #7 from Miklos Vajna vmik...@collabora.co.uk ---
Hi,

(In reply to comment #0)
The value of the text:use-soft-page-breaks attribute of the office:text tag
is ignored (in FODT files, at any rate).

I think that's intentional, see the quoted text in comment 4, A consuming
application ... shall not depend on its existence.

That attribute is emitted by Writer to help other applications, where the soft
page breaks are, but ignored on import, as our layout is good enough to know
that information on its own.

Even if it was set to false before loading the document in Writer, it is
always reset to true and text:soft-page-break tags are, as a result,
 scattered throughout the document.

Correct. false means that *if* an application processes those tags in
general, it should now process such tags for this document. But Writer never
does so, that means setting that attribute to false won't change anything in
the ODT importer.

The effect is easily reproduceable by saving a document as FODT, manually
changing the value of the text:use-soft-page-breaks attribute, reloading the
document and saving it again. The attribute's value will now be true.

As I mentioned above, this is on purpose. We don't need those tags, but we want
to help other ODF processors by always writing them.

Its value also isn't configurable from Writer, at least not anyway that I
was able to find. Does that warant another ticket? Probably.

That's right. In theory we could add a config option for that, but:

$ git grep 'prop oor:name=' $(git ls-files officecfg |grep xcs$)|wc -l
2313

We currently have 2313 configuration option... I would rather avoid adding
more, unless this attribute causes real problems -- but if it does, it's
probably an implementation error in the ODF filter of some application, and
than *that* should be corrected.

All in all, closing as not-a-bug.

Thanks for your understanding,

Miklos

Joren,

Indeed the correct orientation is landscape. I can confirm this by opening the
file in MS Word.

I've done some more testing on my own. The FILESAVE defect in question does not
seem to be related to the DOC format per se. That is, at my WIndows workstation
I've converted the .doc file to .docx and sent it to Ubuntu/LibreOffice. There,
I could correctly open the file, but saving would again result in corruption.

Could it have something to do with specific Macro's/tables used in this
document? Normally I don't have problems writing to .docx.

Since fdo#70682 (Thanks MatM!) was fixed, we now have a full copy of the repo

We could checkout the change and do a git diff --stat or somesuch to extract
the top level directories a change touches and report that for new changes.

This would make it easier for reviewers to quickly scan for changes that are

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 71881] Other: Calc Sort not recalculate cell values in last version 4.1.2.3

2013-11-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=71881

--- Comment #1 from Dominique Boutry dominique.bout...@laposte.net ---
My analysis (LibO 4.1.2.3 on Win7) :

I understand that the light blue columns [A:G] contain the input and output,
and that the others [H:R] contain formulas and intermediate results, with the
same formula set in each line.

When you erase an [A:G] area somewhere, there are no line moves, and only the
[H:R] cells of the concerned lines are rightly updated.
Should you suppress an area (whole lines) somewhere, all lines below are moved
up by area_height lines, the [H:R] formulas are updated, and all remain OK.

Now if you sort an area restricted to columns [A:G], the remaining columns are
unchanged (correct behaviour ; see bug 65637) : may be undesired, but no matter
for you because all lines contain the same formulas in [H:R].
However, it appears a bug (bug 71368) in this case, not exactly your case but
somewhat related (Calc messed by a sort and leaving incorrect reference).
Analysis to be deepened.

I am unable to reproduce / confirm this bug so it may be a Windows build /
platform issue or even a user profile issue from the look of the link location.
Here are the basic steps I took to try and reproduce this problem under
Crunchbang 11 x86_64 running v4.1.3.2 Build ID:
70feb7d99726f064edab4605a8ab840c50ec57a:

1. Download TDF logo http://ask.libreoffice.org/m/tdf/media/images/tdf-logo.png
2. New Writer document.
3. Insert Picture From File... select graphic check Insert as Link
click Open.
4. Enter some filler text.
5. File Save as Template... click Save enter file name click OK.
6. Exit Template Manager and running Writer instance (no need to save).
7. Open Start Centre Templates... select template click Open.
8. New document displays with graphic.
9. Right-click graphic Picture... Picture tab Link section File name
shown should be link location.

Even after editing and saving the document the graphic continues to display as
expected. The same template created in v4.1.3.2 can be opened using these
versions (all running under the same OS) without issue:

- v3.5.7.2 Build ID: 3215f89-f603614-ab984f2-7348103-1225a5b
- v3.6.7.2 Build ID: e183d5b
- v4.0.6.2 Build ID: 2e2573268451a50806fcd60ae2d9fe01dd0ce24

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 71913] Font gets reset to Lohit Hindi while typing Kannada (kn)

2013-11-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=71913

I too tested this with libreoffice 4.1.3.2-4 in Fedora 19 and this exists.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a new document
2. Turn on the any Kannada input method
3. Change the fonts to Lohit Kannada
4. Start typing any characters.

Actual Results:
After the second character, the font automatically changes to Lohit Devanagari,
the characters appear in Kannada.

Expected Results:
Font should not get reset to Lohit Devanagari.

different versions of mdds are not always API compatible,
4.0.x requires mdds 0.6 and master requires mdds 0.9.
to avoid such problems just use the bundled mdds instead of system one.

Hi,

This issue exists in 4.1.3.2-4 in Fedora 19, though the extent of character
overlapping differs.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69320] External Data Link to CSV

2013-11-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69320

--- Comment #6 from Hungerburg p...@myzel.net ---
Merci bien Jean-Baptiste for your helpful comments, I am learning new things
about libre office every time. Yet, again, this too is something different from
what this issue is about, a proposed enhancement for reading data from the web.

PS: I am in control of the web service that data comes from, so I just changed
the rendering to make LO able to use it. I just stumbled upon the missing
feature -- If there is a business case, I do not know though; maybe CSV is dead
and html tables rule the game nowadays, ms-excel also only can slurp those…

Still, it probably is very cheap to achieve, maybe just have the csv filter
populate some internal structure that is left empty now and others, that are
not as fortunate as I am, might be helped with it.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 71916] New: Impress: Outline text: Text still visible after cutting

2013-11-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=71916

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 71916
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Impress: Outline text: Text still visible after
cutting
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Mac OS X (All)
  Reporter: shmuell...@gmail.com
  Hardware: Other
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.2.0.0.alpha0+ Master
 Component: Libreoffice
   Product: LibreOffice

I am having plenty of problems with the Outline text box in Impress (the
autolayout box featuring Click to add text on a new slide), including Copy,
Cut Paste, Undo, and Cursor Position, which can suddenly appear off the
expected location between two letters. Most of it is difficult to reproduce,
except the following issue:

Text does not disappear immediately on Edit - Cut (Cmd-X)

I am on MacOSX 10.7 and have tried a variety of releases since 4.0.0, the
latest being 4.1.3.2.

How to reproduce:

(1) Open new Impress Presentation
(2) Insert - Slide
(3) Click on Click to add text and type Text
(4) Mark the word Text
(5) Click Edit - Cut (Cmd-X)

Result: The cursor jumps to the start of Text, but the word Text is still
visible.

(6) On additional keyboard input or mouse click at a location different from
the word Text, the word Text finally disappears.

Expected behavior: The word Text should disappear immediately after Cut.

In slide sorter mode, the slide design icon is greyed.

I would like to be able to modify partially or all slides style in one step.

Wrong arrowheads.

Look at the attached screenshot - on the right is 4.1, on the left master.
Notice the 6th, 7th, 10th and 11th arrowhead, it is broken [not even in the
listbox, but when painted, it is wrong the same way].

Also the 5th does not look entirely correct, but that was there already in 4.1
it seems.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 63319] EDITING: copy paste text from gedit editor

2013-11-22 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63319

--- Comment #7 from Owen Genat owen.ge...@gmail.com ---
Created attachment 89636
  -- https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=89636action=edit
Comparison between Geany+Crunchbang11 vs gedit+Ubuntu1004.

There has long been a problem with pasting plain text under Ubuntu 10.04 x86_64
from gedit v2.30.3 into various versions of LO. I have tested these versions:

- v3.3.0.4 OOO330m19 Build: 6
- v3.4.6.2 OOO340m1 Build: 602
- v3.5.7.2 Build ID: 3215f89-f603614-ab984f2-7348103-1225a5b
- v3.6.7.2 Build ID: e183d5b
- v4.0.6.2 Build ID: 2e2573268451a50806fcd60ae2d9fe01dd0ce24
- v4.1.3.2 Build ID: 70feb7d99726f064edab4605a8ab840c50ec57a

The behaviour is identical for all versions and exactly as described in comment
#0. The on screen display differs across versions as the screenshots show i.e.,
v4.0.6.2 and v4.1.3.2 show a large crossed out rectangle character that appears
to be a carriage return (U+000d) as indicated in the report. In earlier
versions the character does not display but it does impede cursor movement.

For comparative purposes the same text entered into geany (text editor) under
Crunchbang 11 x86_64 is also included. The original text files created by geany
and gedit appear byte-for-byte identical (refer hexdumps) so the problem would
seem to be either with gedit or the way in which LO is interpreting the
clipboard data produced by gedit.

Per this comment on ask.libreoffice.org, I was asked to see if i could

Every New Slide I make, it automatically gets the Blank Slide. Selecting
layout: Slide, Content, i can now edit my Slides again. This fixes my
problem.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 71920] New: FORMATTING: In “Wrap Through“ Mode Text beneath a Frame which is not Filled with a Colour is not Displayed

Status: UNCONFIRMED

 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:

I recognized three incorrectnesses according the display of frames and drawing
elements. This report describes one of them. The others are described in other
bug reports. All three bugs are visible in attachment 72964. Have a look at
this attachment.

At the bottom of the page there is paragraph (character colour: magenta), a
rectangle on the left side (red) and a frame on the right side (blue).
Rectangle and frame are both in “Wrap Through” mode but in this case they are
in the foreground. Furthermore they are not filled with background colours.

You can see that there is a difference between the display of a rectangle and a
frame. If such an element (frame, rectangle, ellipse,...) is not filled with a
colour, it means for me that the transparency is 100 %. And that means
everything beneath the element should be visible. Hence I expect that in the
frame area the paragraph (character colour: magenta) should be visible.

Feasible, I gess it is, though now I don't know how good is for the entire

course to other feateures requeted.
I think it could be useful, for people how works with this kind of math but
none else. When I got this idea, I never though about this. I'm lowering the
priority of this enhancement request.
(Anyway, I would not like to close it (not even as won't fix), because it could
happen, some day, that somebody with the skills, could see it and try to

I'm not sure if I did the previous test correctly, but when I tried this with
the original spreadsheet the option was not the 01/01/1904. When I corrected
the value the problem disappeared.

Thanks for the help!

on Win7. I reverted back to 4.1.2.3 to be able to continue QA.

Hey Miles,

could you please try the latest nightly? Works for me on 10.9.

And re-open this bug should that not be the case.

does the newer release 4.1.3.2 or the latest nightly

improve the situation?

Please do not respond via mail! Use your browser, otherwise you'll clutter the

Also before any further bug action happens: did you update to 10.9 or 10.8.5 in
the meantime? Same question for LO 4.1.3.2 (which is the latest stable
release).

Let's go from there. :)

Hi, what exact steps are required to reproduce this behavior? Would this
problem be reproducible if you attach an example impress document with your
settings (or are those local settings each user has to adjust to produce this
problem)?

The more info you provide the easier it is to confirm this problem and
subsequently fix it.

I don't have any font called Frutiger ... on my 10.9 OS X system. Are there
any default fonts this is reproducible with? If so, which?

Can you please provide a test document showing this issue, so this can be
tested against and subsequently be confirmed.

Does this still happen with 4.1.3.2?

How about the latest nightly?

Very strange. I can not reproduce the bug. I opened your test document and it

So basically WORKSFORME.
