Additional comment: The main frame for Libre Write is also behaving awkwardly.
Currently have it in non-maximized form, but the upper part of the frame is
above the top of the display and cannot click and drag the frame.

Frame is also off the bottom of the display, so I cannot read the information
on the bottom line of the frame.

This only happens on files that haven't already been edited by this release.
After it writes the ResourceFork values once, it doesn't update files again
this way. Of course, this doesn't take away from the fact it shouldn't be
modifying files the user hasn't intended to edit in the first place...

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 72722] New: Clicking on files in the file browser causes their modified dates to be changed

2013-12-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=72722

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 72722
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Clicking on files in the file browser causes their
modified dates to be changed
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Mac OS X (All)
  Reporter: dhgutteri...@hotmail.com
  Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
Status: NEW
   Version: 4.2.0.0.beta2
 Component: Libreoffice
   Product: LibreOffice

In LibreOffice 4.2.0.0.beta2 (Build ID:
1a27be92e320f97c20d581a69ef1c8b99ea9885d), if I single click on any editable
file using the file browser, it immediately updates the modified date of the
file, despite the fact that not only have I not modified it, I haven't even
opened it yet! This is troublesome for workflows (i.e. mine) where the modified
date of the file is significant.

Steps to reproduce:

(1) Click on the file open button.
(2) Navigate to a directory where there's a file you'd like to open.
(3) Single-click on the file. Note that the modification date of the file
changes as you do so.
(4) Confirm via the underlying OS tools (e.g. Finder) that the modification
date has indeed been updated, even though you did nothing to the file.

This is a regression from 4.1.3 and 4.1.4RC2.

It appears this is caused by LibreOffice adding a MacOS ResourceFork that
wasn't previously present in the file. I have no idea why it would be doing
that when a user merely clicks on the file name (presumably LibreOffice
examines the file immediately and adds extended attributes to it), but if it's
by design it's rather ill-advised...

I consider bug 59288 as highly critical. It practically means no conditional
formatting until fixed. I found many duplicates, conditional formatting seems
really messy in many ways. Evil thinkers consider it "a good example for what
goes wrong in LibreOffice development" .
https://forum.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=62758#p278051
This bug must be fixed.

I confirm the problem. It started happening with LO 4.0 , also confirmed in LO
4.1.3.2 Linux. There is always an error when pasting-special formatting only,
and there is an error when pasting cell with conditional formatting. What
happens is that the formatting is pasted to a custom cell but not the one
pasted. I found many duplicates of this bug. It practically means no
conditional formatting until fixed. This thing is really annoying, I consider
it critical.
I previously managed to reproduce bug 39484 which led to resolution. I am
willing again to try hard to deal with this one. I am kindly asking for
directions on what to do.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 69761] Fonts Lost / Not Available

2013-12-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69761

(In reply to comment #4)
> If I open ... and look for "myriad pro cond" in the fonts section I only see
> "myriad pro". If I then open the test docx file I see the font myriad pro
> cond.

This behaviour is normal. The initial pull-down font name list shows the
available fonts (i.e., no condensed version is available). Once the document is
loaded and the cursor placed on the text the name of the used font will display
i.e., the condensed version. Usually if the used font is unavailable it will be
set in italics in the font name field and font substitution occurs in the
document.

I still feel this may be a weights-related MacOS issue introduced in v4.1 as I
indicate in bug 67749.

@ Adolfo Jaym: Why not a mouse selection? You make mouse's right click in
status bar and select how it show you the counting.

In other words like the same operation for the language or the style (the both
show in status bar).

The goal of this bug is only to have a feature: a count by line. How it show
you it secondary for me.

I tend to agree with comment #3. Either a tooltip or change this area so it
cycles through different forms of display (characters, words, lines, etc.) per
mouse click. I remember reading a recent discussion about changes to this part

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 62770] CALC - import of XLS file with conditional formats, sheet name gets inserted in conditional formula

2013-12-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=62770

Created attachment 90790
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=90790&action=edit
ODS/XLS tests created under v3304 and v4132

Thanks for the test file Paul. I have opened it under Ubuntu 10.04 x86_64
running:

- v3.3.0.4 OOO330m19 Build: 6
- v3.4.6.2 OOO340m1 Build: 602
- v3.5.7.2 Build ID: 3215f89-f603614-ab984f2-7348103-1225a5b
- v3.6.7.2 Build ID: e183d5b
- v4.0.6.2 Build ID: 2e2573268451a50806fcd60ae2d9fe01dd0ce24
- v4.1.3.2 Build ID: 70feb7d99726f064edab4605a8ab840c50ec57a

... and all versions display the indicated (Sheet1!B4<>Sheet1!C4) rather than
the expected (B4<>C4) notation. I then created two similar ODS under v3.3.0.4
and v4.1.3.2 and saved these in XLS (Excel 97/2000/XP/2003) - refer attached. I
included a basic formula as well as a formula in a conditional formatting
context. Both XLS versions exhibit the same problem for the formula in the
conditional format context i.e., the sheet name is added to the notation.

I'm confused.

In Word I have Myriad Pro Cond (helvetica neue condensed is not on my OS X 10.9

I created a test document with that font and saved as docx file (attached).

If I open
LO Version: 4.3.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: b578d23d3131f30d775e07baa6fa26e247ea999d
TinderBox: MacOSX-x86@49-TDF, Branch:master, Time: 2013-12-13_00:32:50

and look for "myriad pro cond" in the fonts section I only see "myriad pro". If
I then open the test docx file I see the font myriad pro cond.

Maybe this is expected but it looks fishy to me. Setting to NEW. Any dev input

Please get in touch with the design department and make your concrete
suggestions to their mailing list here:
http://www.libreoffice.org/get-involved/ux-visual-designers/

Otherwise it's unlikely anything will happen. This bug is much too general. If
you discuss this with the design department and can come up with a nice
improvement dev team will be happy to look into that.

Also there was a big voting going on for the LO4 splash. I voted for another
splash which I thought was more modern, but that screen didn#t win the race.
But that's another story... :)

@Chuck, welcome to LibreOffice -- glad to see another happy and excited user!
Some neat features in the works.

Adjusting title, setting as enhancement and adding to OS X meta issue tracking
( bug 42082 ).

This enhancement is already in the dev channel, has been suggested as a GSoC
project with Tor Lillqvist as potential mentor.

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/GSoC/Ideas/fr#Connexion_.C3.A0_iCloud

But, please also try the 4.2 beta builds and RC builds as available, completely
described reporting on any issues that just don't seem correct is welcome.

Summary: FORMATTING: Footer Vanishes each time - Partial Crash
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Windows (All)
  Reporter: herm...@rochholz.de
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.1.3.2 release
 Component: Writer
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:
When I put in a footer it is lost after saving and re-loading the file.
OK- I'm german-maybe the english description will be not accurate bec'se I use
the german version.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Put in a footer - e.g. Table 2X1
2. Choose left and right different footer and first page different footer
3. Delete table/footer on first page
4. Close Document
5. Open it
6. Complete footer away. I've tried it 10-20 times- I want to write a book-
there's no way to put in page numbers!

7) Sometimes when fiddling around with this topic writer crashes (happened 3 or
4 times) But sorry- not reproducible.
Or playing around with it and then updating TOC- crash.

And I think it was the same in the previous version. permanently the page
numbers in footer (without table) were away. But I did not mention it in full

Okay, "tekst" and "Text" are similar enough, but "OpenDocument Spreadsheet" or
".. Presentation" vs. "OpenDocument-arvutustabel" or "-esitlus" might take a
moment for a non-anglophone user :)

The strings are already translated -- they're just not used in Linux for some
reason. On Windows, I get "OpenDocument-tekst" (in Estonian), in Linux I get
"OpenDocument Text" (in English).

What is it, then? LibO *should* provide icons at least for the ODF file types,
shouldn't it? Note that the icons are provided, just not specified correctly in
the .desktop files (resulting in blank icons for ODF-files). For comparison,
the icons *are* set on Windows.

Looks ugly = all .odt, .ods, .odp files have a blank icon (otherwise used for
unknown file types). So if user has chosen to hide file extensions and disable
previews, the file type is not obviously visible.

Yes, of course. What I meant was that file types & icons are specified
correctly on Windows.

  Severity: normal

A wordperfect document with a pleading-paper template applied as a border

On LibreOffice for Mac, wordperfect documents with a pleading-paper border (an
example file has been attached) do not display the border. The border should
appear to be two lines on the left margin, with numbers down the left side of
the lines. This does not display, leaving only the content within the margins.
When I open the same file in Linux, I get nothing but gibberish characters.

Linux system: Arch Linux, up-to-date as of 12/14/2013, LibreOffice 4.1.3.
Mac system: OS X 10.8, up to date as of 12/13/2013, LibreOffice 4.1.3.
WordPerfect on friend's system, v11 (I think). File attached contains just the
pleading-paper border, nothing else.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 72712] New: Other: Printing on pdf in black and white (option available for impress or draw) does not print images

2013-12-14 Thread bugzilla-daemon

  Priority: medium
Bug ID: 72712
  Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Summary: Other: Printing on pdf in black and white (option
available for impress or draw) does not print images
  Severity: normal
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux (All)
  Reporter: yves.delan...@simap.grenoble-inp.fr
  Hardware: Other
Whiteboard: BSA
Status: UNCONFIRMED
   Version: 4.0.4.2 release
 Component: Printing and PDF export
   Product: LibreOffice

Problem description:
In libreoffice 3.4 or before (on Ubuntu 12.04LTS or CentOS6.4), selecting
the "black and white" option in tab "LibreOffice Impress" or "LibreOffice Draw"
of the "Print" dialog window translated color images into greyscale
equivalents. The color background in impress translated white, which made it
possible to produce printable copies of color presentations very easily...
This possibility seems to have disappered in LibreOffice 4.0.4 (which came
last week with CentOS6.5) and also in LibreOffice 4.1.3 (that I installed
separately on CentOS6.5 to test).
This makes the black and white option totally unuseful !

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open or create an impress or draw document including a jpg image
2. print it with option "black and white" and "print in a file"
3. look at the resulting pdf file

Current behavior:
Black and white pdf file with text and lines, but without images (they are
replaced by white zones with a black border)

Expected behavior:
Black and white pdf file with black text and lines, and images converted in
greyscale

To be more clear, if you merely Right Click on one of the red-underlined words
that you previously added (and then left-click elsewhere), then ALL of the
red-underlined, previously-added words will lose their red underline

Re: spell checker
Yes, merely launching the spell checker (Tools -> Spelling and Grammar) seems
to have the desired effect.

Hi,

Sorry for this late response. I created a few samples with he latest stable of
LO (4.1.3) but the behavior is the same. If i copy a graph with data series in
rows to writer the graph will not be rendered correctly, also opening the .odt
file created in 4.1.3 with an earlier version of LO (4.0.6) will produce the
same rendering even if pasteing the chart into text files in this version
(4.0.6) works as expected.

I will attach the ods and odt files created in LO 4.1.3 and the odt file as a
pdf too, to illustrate the graph what i get.

Best regards,
Tohotom

When I read the file using 4.0.5.2 LibreOffice Spreadsheet, the conditional

That is the buggy behavior of LO 4.2.0.0beta2. When you start the same form in
beta1 or all other versions you get different rows at the bottom, when you
change the number for the record above. As you see it first connects 5 rows to
the data of the mainform. When you have reached "New row" and go back it
connects 2 (other) rows.
Don't know where to get a build with the patch for bug72463. Could be it is the
same reason, because it first appears with the same build and has something to
do with the refresh of tables.

and 5 rows

It's record 1 from 4.

2)
Then click next record (so 2 from 4)
the content of upper fields change but still the 5 rows at the bottom

Idem if click next record (so 3 from 4 and 4 from 4)

at 5, all rows disappear

Go previous record -> 2 rows (instead of 5)

What I understand:
1st presume bug: The T() function returns an empty string instead off the cell
text when cell contains an URL.
2nd presume bug: When sorting "master sheet", other sheets are not refreshed.

Both presume bug are not reproducible with 4.1.3.
Update with a most recent vesion and tell us if you still reproduce.

Created attachment 90771
  --> https://bugs.freedesktop.org/attachment.cgi?id=90771&action=edit
Form with subform. Content in tablecontrol must change when row in mainform
changes.

Have changed the attachment. So you only have to start the form and see the
difference, when moving from one row to another in the mainform.

(In reply to comment #3)
Hi Julien,

> I just some 5 fields + a form with rows. Is this last one the main or the
> subform but anyway, where's the other form?

There is a table-control in the form - a form with rows, as you call it. This
is the main-form. The content of the tablecontrol changes, when you change the
row of the mainform.
The following will only work when you have changed the form as I described in
Comment1.
Put the cursor in "Transaction No.". At the bottom of the form you would see
"Row 1 from 4". In the tablecontrol you see 5 rows. Now go to next row in the
navigationbar, which shows "Row 1 from 4". The content from the whole form has
to be changed. You could see 2 rows in the tablecontrol.
When you do this with LO 4.1.0.0beta2 the content of the tablecontrol wouldn't
be changed - shows for every row of the mainform the same content.

Regards

Robert

The regex and undo works with your test file works for me with LibO 4.1.3.2. So
this only seems to be an issue with LibO 4.0. Can you test it with the lastest
bugfix release 4.0.6, so that we can close the bug, when it is fixed there?

Yes, it's a duplicate. Both bugs are solved.

This bug is no more in LO 4.1.4 rc2 and LO 4.2.0 beta 2.
Close it as WORKSFORME.

Hello,

Sorry, I did that yesterday night and I was too tired.

Here are the results.

tg@tg-K50IJ:~$ export lang=c
tg@tg-K50IJ:~$ sudo mkdir -p /opt/openoffice.org/ure/lib
[sudo] password for tg:
tg@tg-K50IJ:~$ sudo ln -s /usr/lib/ure/lib/libreglo.so
/opt/openoffice.org/ure/lib/libreg.so.3
tg@tg-K50IJ:~$ sudo ln -s /usr/lib/ure/lib/libstorelo.so
/opt/openoffice.org/ure/lib/libstore.so.3

In a way, it works. When I start LibreOffice, I do not have the usual error
message. The first time I try to start the extension, I looked like it was
going to work, but it did not. After I have try it again, nothing happened.

Any other ideas?

Thank you,

TGE.

Confirmed under Ubuntu 10.04 x86_64 using v3.3.0.4 OOO330m19 Build: 6 and
v4.1.3.2 Build ID: 70feb7d99726f064edab4605a8ab840c50ec57a so it would appear
the indicated options have always been this way. Status set to NEW as I also
feel some consistency here would be a good thing. Whether this is done by
grouping the existing menu options (e.g., under Edit) or via right-click
context menu (e.g., Page > Header/Footer) or via active floating UI object
(e.g., like that introduced in v3.5) would seem somewhat arbitrary. Consistency
across the various components would seem to be the key aspect.

Component set to UI. Version set to Inherited From OOo. Platform set to
All/All. Summary edited for clarity.

[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 72382] wrong direction in Complex script

Hello Noori, please don't attached tar files, they are too much of a hassle.
If you wish to post PNG files, please attach them directly and each one
separately.
But better than picture files would be to copy-and-paste the text that you get
in your file into this Bugzilla text field. Or do you then get a different
result?

It is not entirely clear to me what you type in, because the parenthesis.png
file shows shows two lines containing "f(x", and the second one seems correct
-- how did you obtain that one? And the digits.png file shows three lines, and
each seems to say "4 kilograms", not "40 kilograms" as you say in your report.

The "Complex script" in the bug title is not very accurate -- please consider
changing it to "CTL" or "Complex Text Layout".

Anyway... Isn't this bug a duplicate of bug #61795?
And maybe of bug #65508 too?

Bug #69109 also seems a duplicate and may contain a workaround that allows you
to avoid the issue. Also bug #49320 seems related, and probably several more.
